"Remus Lupin break? That's like. . . the Knight Bus picking up muggles and taking them all over Europe." Tonks scoffed. She knew he'd never break, but she hadn't given up all hope yet.
"That's practically what he is..." she nodded.
"Yes, Sirius Back was my mother's cousin. Who hasn't heard about him." Tonks shook her head, there wasn't much publicity on the whole battle but everyone, muggles and wizards alike, knew the name Sirius Black, "Once is enough to get more than one person killed, luckily only one person was killed."

"Hey it could happen," Teddy said thinking about it for a second, "the Knight Bus could do that, when the word gets out about wizards, and everyone knows so there is no stopping them because there is too many. And everyone has a breaking point, and Remus may be stubborn, but he's human and has a point where he will have to just give in. When it hurts too much to keep his wall up."
"It wasn't your fault!" Teddy insisted looking at her intently, "Everything happens for a reason, my sister always says it. You couldn't save Sirius, yes, but it wasn't your fault. I bet Harry felt it was his fault, or Dumbledore felt it was his. In truth it wasn't anyone's fault. Sure Harry was the one who went there and caused the need for Sirius to come. Sure Dumbledore probably feels that he should've made sure Sirius came back, and sure you were the one fighting his killer before she killed him. Everything happens for a reason, and you can't stop it, unless somehow you get a time turner, and go back in time to change it." Like Harry during his third year, saved Sirius' life then, Teddy thought to himself at this point.

"If magic is revealed we'll all be asked to prove it, which some people don't want to do..." Tonks shook her head, "You really want me to be with your cousin don't you? You might actually help me get him to break, hmm, that actually might work..."
"I think nearly everyone thinks that," she nodded, "Harry tried to talk to me about it recently when I went to go talk to Dumbledore but he wasn't there and I was so out of it I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying."

"I doubt it'll happen, but who knows? How much longer can we keep it in the dark with Voldemort targeting them?" Teddy asked, before smiling, "Of course, he's family, and I know he's in love with you, and you're in love with him. I doubt he'll be really happy until you two settle down, and I want him to be happy." That and if you don't get with him I won't exist, so it might pretty good if they got together, Teddy thought, not daring to actually say it, as it would raise so many questions.
"It's because it's true Tonks," Teddy insisted, "And Harry probably didn't want you to blame yourself, and wanted to get the old you back, you know the one that's always happy and pranky."

"Some of us are pretty good at keeping things hidden, but I doubt we can keep it up, it's hard work." Tonks nodded, "Ha." she shook her head and then looked at the ceiling, "Only way he'll actually say yes to me, is if he's given a love potion or imperiused."
"I know, okay, I get it." Tonks dropped her head and furrowed her brow, "No one likes this me, she's mature and has no funny bone her body. But by now, everyone should know the reason why..."

"Exactly! And the same goes for Remus. I mean, it's hard work keeping a wall between yourself, and the one you love. Trust me, I know how hard it is, I've gone through it, making excuses on why you can't be with them, it's only a matter of time before his wall breaks down. Most women would have left me after I broke up with them as many times as I have with Vicky, but no, Vicky stayed, and well, I can't wait to see her next and perhaps pick up our relationship again. Something as big as this huge move, well it broke down my wall. Perhaps something will happen and his wall will come down," Teddy insisted, thinking that the night his parents had gotten together was the day Dumbledore died, "Sorry for going on so long."
"That's only because we know it's not you, you're always the one to raise one's mood, and now they, and I, want to raise your mood, in repayment. Even if you haven't been in the greatest mood since I got here, you've been a guiding force in my training, and well I want to raise your mood, it's the least I can do," Teddy explained sighing, thinking of how his parents were a guiding force, and how he strove to make them proud as they watched him. And now he could try and help his parents, try to help them become happier, not let them be upset if he could help it.

"How old are you again?" Tonks asked, either this kid knew a lot from other's mistakes, or he'd just made that many and learned from them all. She knew that she'd made a few mistakes, but she hadn't learned a lot from them now she was getting a speech about love from someone a few years younger than her, talk about awkward, "It's okay, give's me time to come up with brilliant questions like the one I just asked."
"You Americans... and I thought us Brits had a way with words, you people really know how to come up with a good pick-me-up speech. Wish that would work, but I'm not going to be happy until I'm actually with him, as more than friends you know? Even if I'm a guiding force, I'm a clutz, people think I'm annoying althought I don't see how, I'm immature, I love to play pranks with kids that ask me to, and the list goes on and on... what was I saying?" Tonks had to think about that, she'd gone into a list of her flaws and then lost what she was saying then she snapped, "Right, people don't think I'm a good role model, I beg to differ."

"I'm going to turn 23 in a couple of months," Teddy replied with a smile, thinking of how she must think that he would be so inexperienced, but no, growing up in the rebel camp, and fighting alongside his godfather once he was 17 really made him quite experienced, and given his relationship with Victoire, well he was quite an expert on what Remus was doing to Tonks, and what Remus was thinking. Teddy knew exactly why, and well even though Teddy tried to stop, he couldn't get over the feeling of he shouldn't get too close, because he might loose his love of his life, and then be lost forever without her.
"Well we Americans have to," Teddy answered thinking about how it really was and how they really had to pep talk almost everyone once in their life, his was when he was 21, in December, in a planning session when Vicky came in and insisting on fighting with them; she was such a stubborn and brave, yet somewhat rash woman, whom he was very in love with, "given how we had to grow up, fearing the Dark Lord, so much, that most people didn't speak his name, so the kids grew up not even knowing his name. Then we moved here, to get away from all of that. We had to be quite good on words of cheering up a person... Anywas, I understand what you mean, I know it's hard to see the one you love reject you so, and push you away. But right now, at least at the moment, all you can to is be there for him. His best friends died, and now he's all alone. I know you want to be more, but don't push it too fast. Though I bet he'll soon be ready, when the time comes, I'm sure you'll recognize it, and if not, well I'll be there to nudge y'all together." He added the y'all to sound more American. They said that right?

"Merlin, I turn twenty six next month. I'm not even that wise, and here you come in and show me up. Americans." Tonks shook her head jokingly. She didn't know why but she really felt like she should know this kid for another reason other than he was Remus' cousin. Why do I have that feeling? she thought.
"Huh, I never would've guessed that's how you transfers had to grow up. Most of us here grew up knowing the name, except for the muggles. We know how to face dark wizards, come up with odd fantisies, if your like me you make others laugh, and the list continues." Tonks put her arms in a 'W' shape, "'Y'all'? What kind a word is that? A contraction of 'you' and 'all'?"

"Ah, it's just because I've been in a lot already, relationship wise, and warring wise," Teddy shrugged, "But of course, I also learned from my uncle, aunt, and the stories of my parents, and I've learned from some of their mistakes, and they made a lot." Just thinking about Aunt Ginny's fate, made him feel a bit sad, but he of course didn't dwell on her death, but truly on the good times, which made him feel better.
"It was pretty bad, like say Voldemort wins, takes over the ministry and the whole world, and you're kids live in fear of him, while only few remain to try fighting him off," Teddy replied darkly knowing that would happen, unless somehow they change that part of history, "It was almost like an endless night of darkness, with only a sliver of light shining through.... Oh yeah, well it's an American thing, more southern, but I had been assigned missions in the south so I kinda picked up that habit." Teddy hated lying, but if he had to, to keep suspicion away he would do it, no matter how he disliked it. And what he just said about the south was only partly true, since he went there once, to some place named Fort Polk Lousiana, where they had the oddest accents. Why he was there, well that was a secret meeting with the American wizards who were gathering forces to help defeat Voldemort. It was like their own little Order... however when he got there, he waited a week before having to seek them out, and when he found them, they were all dead and left to rot in a field, which the sight of had tried very hard to forget.
