What could her family business be? Could it really have to do with spying? That would be pretty cool. This is the sort of mystery Tom likes, unlike those silly mystery novels which he solved quite quickly. His father seemed to think that he was going to become a great detective for Voldemort, and scope out the traitors. He already knew which ones were the traitors, Rodolphus Lestrange was one of them too. And that kid, Jacob. And Wormtail? Oh yeah, working behind the scenes against Voldemort at thus time (in the future he was already dead). He'd already found the ones he could trist and those that woukd blab everything he said.
"Oh well... Er... Yeah. I like you quite a bit already, never met someone who I've liked so fast," Tom shrugged with a nervous smile. He really wanted to know her family business... "So then... What is your family business." Oh way to go Tom. Now you're a nosey kid she thinks is cool.
"Oh well, still, it was funny anyways," Tom said with a small laugh, "Recall of anything, even movie quotes, is a sign of intelligence in most cases." Yeah, that's right keep going with that stupid Lockhart book. Chapter 20 insist on the compliment if she refuses. There was a whole chapter of this. "I could see if Dad can still get it, you know back in this place." Stupid time travel.

"Aww.. Now I don't know what to say.." Marietta tugged at her hair. Wasn't this great! "I'm not actually allowed to speak of it. I'd get in huge trouble! Plus my sister is always on my tail, I'm sure she has me bugged and that's why I cannot say anything."
"I just say it means I have a good memory." she smiled, "Oh no, no, no, no.. I'll just steal your bottle!" she laughed. Then she said, "I'm quite a sly fox when I want to be."
She kind of hid her face, she didn't know what to say. After a bit and scratched her head, and then started spinning. She had a question to ask, but it was almost summer and she didn't know how to phrase the question.

"Well then, I'll just have to guess it!" Tom said with a smile, "Is it like... Spying or going undercover?" That's the only thing that he could come up with from what he knew of it, especially when he joked about being undercover and her reaction. He was pretty good at guessing right with little information.
"Memory is a good thing too," Tom said with a shrug before eying her with suspicion, "Hey! Then my hair will be all not sift and stuff!" Well, actually his hair was naturally soft, but the shampoo just seemed to make it even better. Tom could see that she was nervous, but simply placed it in his subconscious to use later when analyzing her or someone else.

Marietta giggled, "Your so weird. And no, it doesn't involve either of those. Although that would be really cool!! Besides, there are only Chinese and Russian spies." She smiled, she really had to lie, her sister would kill her and make sure no one knew about her ever again.
She laughed and kept smiling, "Memory isn't that good, I can just remember something from any show, paper, movie, screen, anything really." She shrugged. And smiled, "But mine will be straight and soft and styleable!"

"Aww, darn... I really hate being wrong," Tom said disappointedly. Then what could it be? Flowers. They could arrange flowers. Lame. That wasn't it. That was too lame. They could be ninjas! But that was just his imagination, there was no logic in it. Why couldn't he get it? It was frustrating.
"See that's a great skill! Just think about it, what if someone had kidnapped you and would only let you go if you answered which movie a quote came from!" Now that probably wouldn't happen. But there was a small percent, some like, .000000000001% or something. "But your hair is perfect the way it is!" He really did like her hair, which went against Chapter 5, Never Compliment Something You Actually Like, Leave That Until After Marriage Screw Lockhart! He was stupid anyways.

"Aww, that's okay. I might tell you someday.." Marietta smiled. She couldn't tell him, it would be suicide! "If you ever find me back home.. Just for the record, me dad likes to spend a lot of time between England and Ireland. He's got a group of friends he gets together with every year."
"Yeah because someone will want to kidnap me.. It's good when your sister needs informations." Etta admitted.

"He sounds pretty cool, much differenyt from my dad," Tom said with with a disappointed look, "I want to know though..." He would just have to figure it out himself, but he didn't seem to be able to come up with it yet, which was a disappointment because he usually got it by now.
"What? Are you serious or are you joking?" Tom asked worriedly. Her sister needs information? He didn't really get it, which was weird because he usually got most things.

"Oh no, I was serious... Me sister likes to know everything I know." Marietta nodded. She swallowed her fear of her sister butting in, "Um, I have a question for you... Would-would you like t-to.." she faded off and dropped her head, she couldn't even ask him if he would like to go around London for a bit. I am such...a...loser... she sighed.
"Well, my dad gets a bit protective sometimes... but he hasn't been the same for the longest time.. Ever since mum died.. he changed. All he writes about now is stuff like Edgar Allen Poe wrote... death, and a girl." she shrugged. "Well, you'll find out someday, but me sister would have to kill you if you knew..."

"Darn that Harper... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to guess it right," Tom sighed. When she was asking him something nervously, his mind went back to the Lockhart book, Chapter 15: How to Respond to unfinished questions. This one was the first question it talked about. "Hang out? Sure. We could go around London or Hogsmeade, whatever you prefer." He smiled with a serious look in his eyes, not joking about it.
"Well maybe now we can prevent your mum's death," Tom said looking around to make sure no one was around to hear as it would blow everyone's cover. That wouldn't be good. His father would be so disappointed. Tom loved his father a lot, but his attitude towards muggleborns was unacceptable to Tom, mostly because of the muggle boy David he met when he was younger.

"Yeah, well.." Marietta shrugged. She rubbed her arms, she wasn't cold but she had nervous goosebumps. "Maybe go around London this summer? Me sister should be busy a lot so I'll be on me own a lot. She takes good care of me but I do have to take care of me self sometimes. And it would be great to walk around with a friend.."
"Harp-y's afraid I'll blow the secret, I almost did when I talked to me da." she scratched her head, "Harper pulled me out though, so here I am.. I think I'll need me mouth ductaped shut when I'm around me family." she was still rubbing her arms.

"Well isn't that irresponsible?" Tom said wondering why Harper would be so busy she couldn't take care of Marietta, "It sounds like fun. I will need to escape from my brother and sister, they'll probably be torturing poor little kids pr something." Luke was worse that their sister, but she was pretty bad as well. He almost felt bad for his siblings being that messes up.
"It's ok, word will get out eventually. When it does, whether it's yoir fault or someone else's we'll have to deal with it anyways. Right now as we lie about where we are from, we are just delaying the inevidable," Tom replied, knowing he was worries he'd blow their cover, especially when he met his dad, which he hoped to avoid.

"Oh well in that case, Harper has been doing a good job. Even still leaving a minor alone is irresponsible in most cases," Tom said with a smile, understanding that Harper probably has a lot of stuff to do rather than raise her sister, "I'd love to see that, though I wouldn't want to be around them for about a week after you would do that. Luke has a nasty temper." Very bad. Luke probably has the worst temper in the world and goes off at the smallest things.
"Of course I'm right, I almost always am. All you have to lie about is the country you are from and your parents, right? Just avoid questions if you can't keep it up." That's what he had decided. Change the subject if it got too close to the truth.

He didn't like his sister, Tom considered her a... Well to put it nicely a person who sleeps around. "I doubt that you want to face my brother, Luke. He'll literally come after you to torture you if he finds out."
"That's true, your accent is extremely Irish," Tom said thinking about her accent which at the beginning had a touch of German. "You won't if you're smart about it. Where are you from, answering with I like cats won't work too well," he joked, "But if you're asked, What was Ireland like, you can say, just like anywhere else."
