Jacob wasn't freaking out. Jacob wasn't hiding. Jacob was currently in the Transfiguration classroom, after all of the classes had ended. Some were eating dinner, and others were working on homework, both of which Jacob easily finished, especially since he was extremely smart and quick at this.
So why was he in the Transfiguration room, not freaking out, nor hiding? That was quite simple really. He was simply thinking. Thinking about his family, and his friends. They were important to so many others, but here he was alone in the world as who he truly was. He almost forgot about his one REAL friend, Summer.
He was actually quite calm as he gathered his thoughts. Maybe they were right? Maybe their cause was right? It would go against everything he believed, but Jake wanted to be normal. He wanted to have a loving family who well actually loved him. But that would probably not happen even if he was on their side. There was too much 'love is stupid' sort of thing, especially with Voldemort.
Jacob longed for a normal life, a loving family, and just nothing complicated. His family accepting him for who he was. Jake knew that would never ever happen. If his mum found out about what he was thinking, she might even come close to killing him. She looked like it when he asked a simple question of 'Why' they did all of this.
