"My best friend's like that," he laughed. "Try spending a day or two with Charlie Carriedo; he's a riot."
Charlie was back in his native Texas at that moment, working on his dad's horse ranch. He'd promised to be back in time for Hogwrts to start up again in the fall and mentioned taking a teaching position. Charlie as a teacher just seemed like a horrible idea, but Gabe hadn't told him so.
"I'll make sure to tell Seline that you're in agreement with her stance," he chuckled.
When dog-Solhie licked the kids' faces, their eyes shot old and they grinned.
"Ah! Miss Sophie is Ani...Animag...Animagus like Papi!" Julius giggled happily, stumbling a little on the word Animagus.

Sophie barked and nodded. She circled around the two and layed down so they could pet her. She looked at Gabe with a look that asked, "You're an animagus too?" She wagged her tail and nudged the twins. They were just so cute!

The twins continued gigging, petting Sophie happily. As Gabe watched, Lexi's hair fluctuated from pale pink to purple And back to pink. It was cute, the way her hair changed colors. Julius seemed to notice, too, and gently tugged at one of his sister's curly locks of hair. Gabe sometimes wondered if Julius ever felt insecure about not being a Metamorphagus like his sister, but the little boy didn't seem to mind...
Gabe sighed and nodded in response to Sophie's silent question. He shifted into the form of a long-haired black cat with the startling blue eyes of the Cavaliere then shifted back to his usual form, still sitting on the bench.

Sophie licked them both again and changed back and sat between the two with her legs crossed. "It's quite hard to comunicate like that though, my brother and I have figured out a way though." She smiled.
"I'm actually one of the transfers, I was raised by people from here in Britian so my brother and I have the same accents as most people in this country." She said with an arm around each child. It would be nice to have a family soon, but she wasn't one that could really think about that. She had a brother, and parents to protect. She couldn't do it.

"One of my cousins is mute, so I'm kind of used to communicating without words. It's kind of awkward to talk to Jared; it alway makes me feel like I'm talking to myself," he admitted.
Sitting next to Sophie, Lexi started tracing out pictures in the dirt with a stick she'd found, while Juliuset his head rest in Sophie's lap and closed his eyes. That was shocking. Julius has become so introverted after his mother died...
"We're transfers, too, from Italy. It's taking a little adjustment, living in England," he admitted. "The twins have really taken a liking to you, by the way."

"I think I met him. At my friends wedding! He was with a girl... Ally, I believe." Sophie said, "Small world."
She started petting Julius's head, and pouted at how cute it was. She hugged Lexi with one arm, they were just so cute!! If only her brother had been like this. He was such a dog sometimes it wasn't even funny..
"I guess I just have a way with kids. It's sad I can't have any of my own.. I can't really find anyone who would like me as more than a friend. Plus my brother tries to scare everyone off." she smiled. She was still lightly petting Julius's head, sure he was going to fall asleep on her lap.

"Ally is another of my cousins... I have a lot of them. Sorry about that fight you got dragged into, by the way; it happens to us every now and then," he admitted.
Lexi turned to smile at Sophie and, discreetly, check on her brother. She tried to act otherwise, but little Lexi was a bit of a mother Ben where her younger twin was regarded. Gabe couldn't blame her. It was hard to not worry about meek, timid Julius. He just kept to himself far too much, even though Gabe's mother said that it was fine and be would grow out of it.
"I don't know if it's any consolation, but I just so happen to think that you're pretty great," he replied. "Not many women our age stick around once they meet the twins; I don't understand because I personally think that my children are wonderful, but I guess not everyone agrees."
He chuckled softly and watched as Julius' big dark eyes closed and the little boy dozed off. It was a miracle, really, that the kids had already decided that they liked Sophie. They had a tendency to compare all women to Brielle.

"My cousin-in-law's aunt just so happens to be Cassie di'Angelo." Sophie smiled. She moved a loose piece of hair from her face but it kept coming back. She decided to just take her hair out of the pony tail, it would cause a lot less hassle. She shook her mane to get all the pieced in their rightful places. Such thick hair, so little a time to style it.
She smiled back at Lexi and looked at what she was drawing in the dirt, she wasn't really sure what it was. When Julius fell asleep she kept stroking his head just incase it was what was keeping him asleep.
"O-oh, really?" she said turning a slight shade of pink, she kept looking at Julius and smiled. "I think they don't stick around long enough to get to know them.. I like to get to know someone, and their kids, before I make a decision." She smiled.

"Ahhhhh, the lady Cassiopeia. She's nice. She watches the twins when I'm working sometimes. Most of the other Council-members' spouses stay home and sulk," he noted.
He watched Lexi drawing her picture. It was just a bunch of swirls and circles, nothing really clear. Lexi didn't have the artistic skills of her brother. If Julius were awake, he would've tried to help her draw an actual picture, all the whole scolding her for getting off-task so easily.
"Yeah, really. You've only been nice thus far, even though Lexi pretty much bowled you over, and the twins like you. I tend to trust their instincts," he explained.
Julius smiled a little in his sleep, probably happy that someone had, however briefly, assumed the role that his mom had once filled. Gabe felt guilty for not moving on from Brielle just yet. His kids wanted a mom, but it was hard to give her up.

"I met her at the wedding. She was really nice, she welcomed up into the family too." Sophie smiled. She kept thinking that if she stopped rubbing Julius's head he'd wake up and start crying, but it was so cute but she didn't like the crying too much...
She smiled at Lexi's drawing. She wasn't all that artistic either, so she understood the swirls and everything. She smiled at the girl, and gave her another one armed hug.
"Oh, going on gut feeling? Sometimes that puts you in danger.." she grinned. She didn't know know what to do really, she felt like an older sister to these two even though they were four years older than her. It was a bit awkward..

"She's a good lady; she helps us out a lot. Especially with the real little kids. I can't exactly take Lex and Jule to work with me."
It was dangerous and just flat-out a bad idea. He worked with Al a lot, and Al had a notoriously foul mouth. He didn't need Lexi parroting Alistair and getting in trouble with his mother when she slept over; it was bad enough that she occasionally parroted his uncle Chris.
Lexi turned to smile in that bright, genuine way of hers before returning to her scribbles. It was better than her knocking over trash cans and getting stuck in trees (it had happened before).
"Gut instinct has worked just fine for me this far," he retorted cheekily. "I get in more than enough trouble without it."

"If you ever need it you can drop them off at my brother and I's appartment, he's always working and I'm always home so I can watch them if you ever need it." Sophie shrugged. She kissed Julius's head and adjusted him slightly to where she could actually hold him and just let Lexi keep doodleing. "We don't like to curse around kids, I don't curse at all actually. My brother gets the occasional burst but like I said, he's never home."
She laughed, she could be a day care provider and make a lot, but she'd get too attached. She think of them as if they were her own. She'd promised herself that one day she'd take in a child from an orphanage, it was her own way of being a good person.
"You sound like my brother, he's always going on about how hard it is when you can't go with your gut. I tried to be a police dog once, that's how I got my scars.. and even then, it's still hard to tell which dogs to trust, they all have something against one another.." she rolled her eyes.

"I might have to take you up on taut. They really seem to like you. I'm glad; they have a tendency to compare every woman they meet to their mother, Brielle," he explained.
And nobody knew better than Gabe that it was hard to find anyone that measured up in comparison to his deceased girlfriend. He'd loved Brielle since they were just kids; it had just about killed him when she died. Sophie was a lot like Brielle, personality-wise, though, even he had to admit it. It was easy to see why the twins had so easily taken a shine to her.
"Cats are just as bad, trust me. They never agree on anything. I originally taught myself to transform into one to cheer my sister up. She was always sick and in bed when we were little kids, and she loves cats. It seemed like a good idea at the time," he concluded sheepishly.

"Well then I must be almost exactly like her," Sophie smiled, "because no one's really fallen asleep in my lap before, not even a puppy."
She shrugged, and resumed petting the child's head. She hummed a lullabye she didn't even know she knew.
"And people say cats and dogs are different, neither of them trust others! Except dogs are more willing to be owned and loved while cats own others and only love those who love them." She chuckled.

"You're very similar, yeah," he agreed. "I mean, there are clear differences between you and Bri. Don't get me wrong; it's not like you're the same person, but you two are definitely a lot alike."
Julius smiled again as she started humming the lullaby. Lexi paused in her sketching briefly to listen to it and then smiled a little. Her hair turned a soft brown as she returned to sketching. Her natural hair color, for once.
"They're both possessive, though. Dogs really hate it when you steal their owners' attention from them. I bought the kids a dog, a little black and white fluff-ball named Spot, for their birthday two years ago. To this day, he bites my ankle if I distract them from him for too long," he laughed.
