Sophie was in Hogsmeade buying a few snacks, she knew full well that soon enough she was going to have to have anything Tonks would be craving when her and Lupin visited for lunch at one point. She grabbed sugar quills, bertie bots, and several other types of candy. After paying for it she started for the door and got side tracked by brightly colored candies. She grabbed some of them and headed back appologizing for being back so soon. She said sorry again and started out. She reached the door, opened it and looked around. To think, soon enough this would be the place where Aberforth helped Harry evade capture and get into Hogwarts. Then the battle would be taking place, the battle that would change everything... She shook the thoughts out of her head. She couldn't think like that. Puttting the bags in her mouth, she tied her hair up, it felt like it was going to be a lazy day and she needed to take a nap.

"Lex, wait!" Gabe called after his daughter as, giggling, she ran ahead of him and his son, Julius, on their way to the candy store. She just stuck her tongue out at him over her shoulder and changed her blonde curls to some odd shade of purple...that is, until she ran into a young woman carrying candy.
"Ah! Lexi sowwy!" the little girl apologized desperately as she tried to help the woman clean up.
"And I'm sorry on her behalf," Gabe sighed as he and Julius caught up with them. "She's a handful. If any of your candy is inedible, now, I promise that I'll pay for it. I'm Gabe, by the way."
He offered the woman a wary smile in hopes that she wouldn't be too angry. He was one man with two kids. It was rough.

Sophie let out a sqeak as someone ran into her. It was a little girl, how cute. Sophie bent down to pick everything up, and the little girl helped her, well, wasn't that sweet. Most people would just laugh and walk away. Then a older boy walked up, Sophie figured he was the girls older brother. She sook her head, she didn't need him to pay for it, it was an accident really.
"No, it's fine.." she said, "It's alright, no need to pay for it, it's for a friend of mine. She recently married and I figure soon enough she'll be having a baby so... I bought snacks.." She smiled back at the boy, "I'm Sophie."

"It's great to meet you, Sophie, but are you sure? My daughter can be a bit of a wrecking ball," he admitted with a soft laugh. "Her and her brother try their best to run me ragged."
It had been easier back when her mother was around, but he was hell-bent on making sure that they were raised okay. He refused to give his kids up....even if most people were inclined to believe that he was their elder brother. It was an honest mistake, really; he'd been young when they were born.
He thought over what she'd said and shook his head with another soft laugh.
"God bless your friend if she decides to have a baby. The twins were a handful and a half as babies," he recalled.

"Really, its fine, I really didn't expect to run into anyone who would run me down today, guess I was wrong." Sophie smiled wit ha bit of a laugh. She looked at Lexi and smiled, "Want a sugar quill? Gabe over there can't tell you no because I'm nice enough." she smiled pulling out a quill.
Sophie chuckled, "I know she will, even if her husband thinks other wise. She's actually my new cousin-in-law. What's sad is my cousin believes his kids will be like him when my brother and I have assured him it will all be fine." she chuckled again, "I wouldn't know, I'm not even married. I've had to watch my older brother, he's a bit immature." of course she wasn't going to say she was as immature because she was not going to speak of her immature fight with her brother.

"Oh, yay! Grazie, Miss Sophie!" Lexi chirped, her hair flashing a bright, cheery pink. "Juli! Juli! Lookit!"
Having accepted the candy, she skipped over to her brother. Drawn out by the promise of candy, Julius finally made his appearance from behind Gabe's leg. Lexi broke the Quill in half and gave one of the pieces to her brother. With his kids happily munching away on sweets, Gabe was finally able to talk to another adult without Lexi either interjecting in the conversation or scolding Julius for not.
"Ah, he'll get over it the first time he holds the baby," he reassured her. "It's just new daddy-gitters. I'm not married, either, by the way; the twins' mother...she's, ah, no longer with us. Two years, now."
He sobered up briefly at the thought of Brielle before shaking it off. He couldn't live in the past. She would've been angry with him...then again, making Brielle angry hadn't taken much.
"I'm the immature older brother that my sister has to take care of, so I wouldn't know how that feels," he admitted with a chuckle. "Seline would probably have some horror stories about my adventures in school for you, though. Seline's my little sister, by the way."

Sophie smiled. She loved it when others were happy. Although the scars on her face were quite pronounced and sometimes scared others away, she saw them as memories that she had to use to make her stronger, along with the memories of being beaten by her father. She gestured toward a bench, "Mind if we sit down? I've been standing up for a while today."
"He's a.." she whispered the word, "werewolf." she didn't know how else to put it. "I hope so, because they are perfect for each other and... and them having a child will be the best thing for them I believe." She had stood back up with her bags in her hands and was looking at the ground slightly, "Good to know, I guess." Then she added, "Oh, I'm... I'm so sorry." She didn't know what to say.
"My brother's name is Teddy, he and I had a bit of a row the other day.. He said something, I glared, he punched me, I pulled his hair, he twisted my arm around my back and I stepped on his foot with my three inch heels.." She nodded triumphantly, "I still lost the verbal part of the fight..." She smiled, "At least your sister and I have something in common huh?"

"Let me take some of those. It was the miniature wrecking ball named Alexis Cavaliere that knocked them out of your hands, after all," he reminded her.
Refusing to take no for an answer, he took a few bags for her and followed her over to the bench. He watched Lexi and Julius playing (or, rather, Lexi giving orders and Julius going along with it) while she spoke. He nodded sympathetically when she brought up her werewolf cousin.
"I've got a childhood friend who's a werewolf. She once told me that it's her life goal to never reproduce. I gues it's a normal thing, but, once you see your baby for the first time, those kind of doubts seem irrelevant," he murmured. "At least for a little while."
He smiled sadly as he watched the kids playing. Julius looked so much like his mother...
"It's not so hard anymore. It's been two years, after all. I still miss her, but life goes on. The kids needed at least one parent."
He laughed softly at her description of her fight with Teddy. It sounded like the fights he'd gotten into with his cousins as a kid. He kind of missed those, honestly. Al hadn't punched as hard when they were kids.
"My sister and I never fought like that," he admitted. "But my cousin and I did. Seline had to break up the fights; I'm sure she'd be more than happy to regale you with stories of how I made her childhood chaotic."

"Oh, umm.." Sophie said as he took some of the bags from her. "You didn't have to do that really..." she started to mess with her pony tail, at least she wasn't scratching herself like she did when she got overly nervous.
Alexis Cavaliere.. she'd heard it before but.. why? Think Soph, think. she told herself. She knew it from somewhere, but where was the question. She did even seem to recognize the girl, then again she was really little.
"She wants kids, he does but is afraid. I really hope his fear melts because his wife will be a bit more of a handful than most people. She's awesome and a great friend, someone you can always talk to, but she does get a bit annoying sometimes..." she shrugged.
"Atleast they have their father... my brother and I lost both our parents at the same time. We were raised by our gran on our mothers side..." she felt like she was saying too much about herself. Why was she so self centered some times? "If you feel like I'm focusing too much on mysef at anytime just stop me."
She smiled, it was nice to know that she wasn't the only sister who had an immature brother. "I'm adopted so, my brother and I always had play fights of course but there were those times when it got really serious and one of us would end up hurting the other with out realizing it.. My brother would be the one to talk about how clean I've made things, how boring I make send offs, and how great it is for him to have a sister. He actually found me when I was in the streets trying to live out of dumpster food. I looked like I hadn't eaten in days he'd said, and it was true I hadn't eaten since I'd found a good amount out behind a fast food shop."

"Papi! Papi! Watch this!" Lexi giggled.
Gabe watched with a tiny smile as Lexi did a cartwheel. She was trying to get the move down for a pee-wee Quidditch team she played on; the kids were all show-offs to an extreme. It was adorable since none of them were older than seven.
"She's in a pee-wee Quidditch league back home," he explained to Sophie. "The kids are always trying to one-up each other."
Ironically, though Gabe didn't know it, the pee-wee Quidditch team that his daughter belonged to would be the Italian national team in the future. They would continue their game of friendly competition the entire way.
"Kids are a blessing; I hope that your friend and her husband can work something out and have them. I can't imagine life without Lexi and Julius," he admitted, still watching them practicing their gymnastic tricks. Lexi was graceful while Julius stumbled through the movements and had to be helped out by his sister.
He returned his eyes to Sophie and nodded sympathetically. He was lucky to still have his mom, but his father...
"I lost my dad during the Fourth Italian Civil War in the Battle of Pompei. It was...weird, at first. Losing parents is hard, I know. Mama tries really hard, but she's not Dad. She works a lot, too, so my siblings and I were on our own a lot growing up."
His eyes widened a fraction, and he turned his head back in Lexi and Julius' direction when he heard a loud crash. Lexi had managed to knock over a trash can.
"Um...Lexi," he called. "What are you doing?"

Thats it! Sophie thought. She wanted to smack her forehead, Alexis was the Captain of one of her favorite Quidditch teams! How could she have forgotten that? She smiled to hide the fact that inside her head she was smacking her own forehead repeatedly.
"How cute, she must be good with a broom then." she laughed, "Just watch, in twenty or so years, she'll be the captain of a quidditch team and all kinds of people will have her poster on their wall." She was one of them, on her wall back at their Gran's house, she had about five posters of the italian team, as well as pictures of her and her brother, Vicky, Rose, her god parents, her cousins. So many memories covered those walls.
"Oh, I can already tell she's going to have at least one child. Just because she's got that kind of luck." Sophie nodded, smiling. That would be her big brother. The immature, foul minded auror she called Teddy.
"I didn't even know mine... they died fighting for my brother, and with out knowing it, me. I know the feeling... Gran never really understood that it wasn't hard to be just grandmother. She always tried going to whole nine yards but it just wasn't the same... I'd grown up in a house where it was wrong to ask questions, so when I did I alway got smacked or beaten. When I ran away they didn't even put up missing child signs. Now, I'm twenty and have had a good life but five years of my life still burns the back of my mind.." she took a deep breath. She hated her birth parents, but if she was lucky enough, they'd keep Tonks and Lupin alive long enough to have another kid.
Sophie looked around him raising an eye brow. If it wasn't weird enough knowing one of the best quidditch players as a kid, it had to be weirder to see her do tricks and talk to her father. Awkward position for Sophie...

"To have a picture of my daughter on a wall would mean that she'd left her hair one color long enough to have posters made," he laughed. "She loves Quidditch; I hope she keeps playing. Her brother, though...Julius isn't quite as sporty as his sister. I picture him as a member of the starving artist crowd."
Though not starving, that was the very crowd Julius would one day be a member of. He'd be a painter one day. As of the moment, though, he was just a shy four-year-old and sidekick to his sister. It was kind of cute to watch.
"There are things about the Fourth War that I think will be seared into my brain until the day I die," he admitted. "So long as we don't let those things rule our lives, not being able to forget them is fine."
Lexi turned to face them, hair turning vividly orange. Her eyes flashed he same color.
"Lexi didn't run into it!" she insisted.

"Wizard posters can change though, she'd be able to change it in the picture and out of the picture.." Sophie shrugged. They could in the future at least.. "I have a feeling she'll stick with it, heaven knows if you love something enough, nothing can stop you from doing it. If he stayed the age he is now forever, I can picture him bieng the kid who tries to do a roll but gets stuck with his head between his legs."
"Some experiences never go away... we never forget them.." She nodded. "I try to live for tomorrow, it makes me push horrible memories back.. that and my brother never shuts up."
Sophie laughed, "Would Lexi and her brother like to play with a doggy?" she asked Lexi. It was so cute how she refered to herself in the third person, this would be an awkward meet and greet if they ever met in the future.

"That's Juli, alright," he agreed with a laugh. "He kind of goes along with the cartwheels and things because Lexi likes them; I don't think he really enjoys them much."
He watched Lexi and Julius carefully as they tried to stand the trash can back up. They ultimately succeeded, giggling and whispering conspiratorially. They were pretty close, as far as siblings went; it must've been the twin thing.
"Siblings are good for that," he chuckled. "My sister thinks she can solve all problems with cookies."
Lexi and Julius' eyes brightened, and they bolted back to where Gabe and Sophie were sitting. It was, for once, Julius who spoke up, eyes earnest.
"D-doggie...?" he asked softly. "Where?"

"Thats kind of like me when I'm having chats with my brothers girlfriend." Sophie smiled.
When she talked to Vicky it always involved an activity that had nothing to do with what ever they were talking about. They did get along though, but it was sad every time her brother broke up with the girl, she was a year younger than Sophie, they'd gone to school together. The three of them were good friends but she usually felt like the third wheel, the girl no one really saw.
"I happen to think all problems can be solved with a but of.. loud discussions and a plate of cookies." she smiled and gave a thumbs up. Then she chuckled and said, "Pardon me for a bit."
She got down on her knees and said, "Close your eyes, you'll see in a second." she smiled and changed into her animagus form. A german shepard. She licked both kids faces and sat there like a good dog. Then she looked at Gabe and barked.
