Mary Anne was walking Filly, the new born mare. Mary had to keep the horse walking so it could learn how to run. Sadly the horse got a away when it saw two kids playing. Since Mary Anne couldn't really run, she had to yell after the horse and speed walk.
"Filly! Bad girl come back here!" she called. She walked closer. Mr. Greene came out on the stalion, Spirit. He held a hand out to the girl and she climbed up on and held tight to the reigns. They chased after Filly but she was going too fast for a foal.
"Filly!" Mr. Greene whistled, "Here girl! Mary Anne, stay with those kids and I'll go catch your horse." "Yessir!" Mary Anne nodded. They got to the kids and he let her down. She looked at the two kids, "I'm sorry, we're trying to train Filly not to do that."

Julius heaved a sigh as he watched his sister and Johan showing off. Johan's mommy had dropped him off for a play-date while Julius and Lexi were at their mommy's uncle Gil's house, so they had been playing outside. Julius sucked with brooms, though, so he was stuck on the ground watching his playmate and sister.
He blinked when the girl got put down in front of him. He didn't know her...! Daddy said not to talk to strangers! But...she was his age, so it wasn't bad, right? Right!
"Wha...? Oh, it's fine," he replied softly. "I'm Julius..."

Mary Anne smiled. Two kids playing on brooms? She'd never seen such a thing! Then again she only rarely came out here. She wasn't originally going to bring Filly out here but Mr. Green has said he was bringing Spirit and that it would be a good training session for her. Only, Filly had been nervous since they left the ranch house. No wonder she took off like that.
"I'm Mary Anne, excuse me for a moment I have to use my breathing machine." she said pulling out an inhaler. She couldn't say inhaler so she used breathing machine instead. She took two puffs from it and felt a bit better. "Doctor says my air tubes have an issue so I can't breathe normally. Why aren't you doing what they are? Can't you ride a broom?"

"Oh...no, I always fall off the broom," he explained softly. "So I stay down here..."
He waved back to his sister when she flashed him a grin of her own and waved. He stuck his tongue out at Johan behind his back, though. He liked Johan just fine, usually...just not when Johan was stealing Lexi. Lexi was Juli's sister; Johan should get his own...or maybe he should suggest games that both of the twins could play. That would work, too.

"I'm not alowed to do anything that makes my heart beat faster." Mary shrugged, "You can play with me. Mr. Greene can teach you how to ride a horse when he comes back."
She smiled. She didn't have many friends, everyone seemed to treat her like she wasn't there. She waved at the girl, she was really good. She was good at riding horses, she couldn't fly a broom to save her life. She would like to become an olympic gold medalist in dressage, but she'd have to get over her asthma before she could do that.

"Do you want to play with the pixies, also?" Juli asked seriously. "They get lonely."
Lexi waved back at Mary Anne before taking off after Johan again. Meanwhile, Julius continued pixie-watching, one of his favorite pass-times. Nobody but him could see the pixies; it made him feel special...good special, not bad special. He wasn't really bad-special. He was just different-special, in a good way.

"Pixies? Pixies are real?" Mary gasped. She had only really thought they only existed in fairy tales, then again, her life was a fairy tale...
She watched Lexi flying around, they were so cool. She sat down and looked at Julius, she didn't know anything about pixies let alone where they were.

Lexi happened to overhear the pixie comment as she flew by and lighted down to stand in front of her brother with her hands on her hips.
"Juli! Stop telling lies!" she scolded. "Pixies aren't real!"
"I don't lie," Juli protested. "The pixies are real!"

Mary Anne didn't know who to believe. Lexi, the cool broom flyer, or Juli, the calm relaxed one. Maybe she could find a comprimise for them?
"Maybe they are real, but only show themselves to one twin?" she posed it as a question. Please let it work, please let it work... she thought to herslef.

"Nooooooo!" Lexi protested, shaking her head. "Auntie Lizzi told Lexi that the pixies weren't real!"
"Auntie Lizzi also believes in air-vent elves," Julius pointed out mildly.
He loved his aunt, really he did, but the air-vent elves that she said stole her socks were kind of far-fetched. She'd been insisting that they were real for as long as he could remember, though, so why couldn't his pixies be?
