Gabe padded, barefoot, through Sophie's apartment to the kitchen in order to make breakfast. They both had the day off and planned to use it to enjoy the Third Yard's belated Carnevale. It was early, though. Gabe had always been an early riser, so he'd decided to make them some breakfast. He smiled a little when he got to the kitchen and saw the message left there by his sister the night before after, at Sophie's insistence, Gabe, Sophie and the twins had hosted a family dinner. Seline had arranged a message for them on the refrigerator using the letter magnets that Gabe and Sophie kept on both of their refrigerators. ThAnKs 4 2nIgHt, YoU gUyS. He whistled the Italian National Anthem as he arranged them into his own good morning message for Sophie. Satisfied with what he'd said, he nodded to himself and continued making breakfast. Sophie stretched as she got up. She looked at her toes and tilted her head back and forth. Was she still asleep? She stood up with her blanket still around her, it was warm under them. What time was it anyway? She looked at the clock and hung her head. It was just too early for anyone to be fully functioning at that hour. She dragged herself through the appartment and ended up at the kitchen table.
She didn't notice Gabe at first. She was oblivious to almost all of her surroundings except for the fact that there was a chair under her butt and a table where her head was. She started dozing off again. Sophie was not an early riser. She liked to sleep till it was late but she was also a light sleeper. Any sudden noise, or anything that broke, she'd hear it and be up in an instant. Alert and ready to fight if someone threatened her family.
She groaned and, in a muffled voice said, "Go back to sleep, it's too early to be awake."

Gabe chuckled softly, glancing over to find Sophie sitting at the table wrapped in a blanket. If she was up, Lexi and Juli would be soon, too. Hm...what to make for breakfast...He'd gotten a recipe for a sweet fried polenta from Seline when she came home from the North not long ago. Why not?
He continued whistling as he worked on breakfast, placing out the caffelate ((milk mixed with espresso use for dipping breads/biscuits/pastries)) and various pastries (his sister had dropped by with them earlier en route to her day job at a nearby bakery). He also placed a cup of espresso in front of Sophie, kissing the top of her head. Lexi and Julius wandered in a few minutes later, yawning. Gabe smiled a little and kissed the top of Juli's head while Lexi crawled into Sophie's lap.
"Morning, Daddy," they mumbled at the same time.
"Morning!" he replied, smiling at them.

Sophie, in her tired state, was dozing in and out of conciousness. Every morning she woke up before nine, she'd end up having to take a nap at some point in the after noon. She hardly noticed the espresso in front of her and only reacted with a lip smacking sound when Gabe kissed the top of her head. Now she felt bad because at some point she was going to end up having to tell him it was over because she had to go back to her own time. That was going to be one weird conversation when she got back. Oh, weel, everything happens for a reason.
She adjusted the blanket when Lexi hopped up. Sophie held Lexi around her stomach and Sophie rested her head on the girls shoulder. She grunted and said, "Who's ready for nap time already?"

"Lexi is," the toddler mumbled in response to Sophie's question.
Julius rubbed sleep out of his eyes and blinked, peering around the kitchen in confusion for a moment before remembering that they were at Sophie's apartment. At that point, he kneeled on his chair to reach across the table and lightly snag a zeppoli. He happily munched on the Italian doughnut, watching Sophie curiously.
"Not an early riser like Daddy..." he murmured to himself dreamily.
"Sorry, Soph," Gabe apologized sheepishly. "I'm so used to rising early that I can't sleep in."

"I'm up for nap time when the sun is actually above the horizon." Sophie said trying to stay awake. She looked over her shoulder debating with herself on whether or not she should say something now or wait till later. Either way it was going to be a heart breaking talk. Why did she have to have such a complicated relationship?
"I'm not either Juli. Me, you and Lex can go take a nap on my bed. Daddy can sleep on the couch." she winked. Even though she was tired, she could still joke and be quite perky. She just hated mornings. ((If only morning started around Noon...))
"Well, I don't rise with the sun's reflection... I rise when it's actually up." she indicated using her thumb to point upward.

"Hey, the sun's above the horizon! Well, it almost is, at least," he amended with a laugh.
Julius waved his hand in the air with a little dreamy smile. Gabe loved both of his children dearly, but Juli was an odd little child, even his father had to admit that. He wasn't looking forward to the conversations he'd be having with Juli's teachers in a year's time; he was looking forward to the conversations he'd be having with Juli's professors at Hogwarts even less.
"Eh...? I'm a morning person," Juli stated softly. "I rise with the pixies...Lexi doesn't like pixies, though, do you Lex?"
"No," Lexi grumbled. "And pixies aren't real!"

"It's a reflection hon." Sophie said, "Not above the horizon." She looked up at him and gave a puppy dog pout, "Carry me?"
She looked at Juli and Lexi, they were arguing about pixies? Pixies? Well, Gabe was going to have to deal with some pretty concered teachers. Yikes. "I'm not going to get involved in this argument. It's just too early and I want to sleep till at least ten..."
