Hermione had seen many things, she had always been picked on by Draco. Sometimes she wanted to kill him. But what stops her really is the fact he is a jerk, he loves to pick on people just to make him feel better. Which was very sad really, because let's face it. If he has to make himself feel better, by making lives a living hell. Then he wasn't really living, his friends always did what he wanted, but where they really his friends? Hermione was glad she knew she had friends. Harry and especially Ron meant the world to her, she wasn't the easiest person to deal with, to get along with and yet they see past that. She had just gotten done with her homework when she heard thunder through the halls. She could hear a whistle and knew it was the wind, storms always brought bad things. But maybe this time it will be different, she went to put her things away. And decided to go for a walk, it was very quite and kind of gave her the creeps.
Her brown eyes scanned the area as she began to think of a few things, running her hand down her neck she was lost in the moment. But she over heard some kids talking, she was in the darkness and wasn't one to really do this. But something in her told her to just hide herself, and she was far from a chicken. But with everything that has happened with her, and her friends. She has learned a few things about being safe, even if it may seem stupid. Bitting her lip her heart almost stopped beating.
"The dark lord will be satisfied to know he has such young death eaters in the making" The figure in black said and took off, Hermione knew this was bad.
"I have to tell someone" She said to herself.
Hermione wasn't to sure who she was going to tell, but it had to be someone. And right now everything seemed to just stop around her, she decided to go to Harry. Perhaps they were just fooling around? but she was to afraid to take that chance. Taking a deep breath she began to go look for him, she wasn't to sure where he would be. She knew he wasn't in practice, so decided to go check out a place where he would be sometimes. In the distance she found him. Hermione was very thankful he wasn't hard to find, in a huge mansion like Hogwarts.
"Hey Harry!" she said rather excited.
Worry could be seen on her face, as she did manage to smile at him, even if she was very worried, she had plently of time to worry. Right now she had to figure out how to say it right, she smiled. Even though sometimes she was forced to smile, no one knew any different.

He could feel it about to break. These new transfers from the United States were giving him the creeps. Something wasn't right about them. They were different, yet the same. He could swear a few of them looked like him... and there were two new half-giants too. Harry made a mental note to talk to them, since they were probably made fun of because of it. Some of them reminded him of many of the people around the school, but maybe that was just all in his head. Harry just needed to relax. It was probably just his nerves about these new people that was getting him all wound up. And Draco Malfoy.
After the train ride here Harry was sure Draco was a Death Eater, though he was doubted by many of his peers, including Ron and Hermione when he had told them after the feast. Draco seemed so suspicious, and each night Harry would look on his marauder's map but sometimes he couldn't find them. And the curious thing was some of these people, transfers, had different names on the map. It was curious indeed. Especially since he found himself on there twice, in two different places.
Harry was currently in the Great Hall, sitting down, reading the newest edition of the Quibbler (having lost all trust in the Daily Prophet garbage). He was not in school uniform of robes, but in blue jeans, a dark blue T-shirt, and a red and blue jacket with the Gryffindor crest located right over his 'heart' or where the Americans would place their hands when saying the pledge. Harry sighed as he read an article about garden gnomes, nearly laughing at the oddness of it.
Suddenly he heard Hermione call to him. He looked up and saw her face, which was a normal sight for him. Harry smiled, but upon seeing a hint of worry etched on her face, frowned slightly. Was something up?
"Hey Hermione! What's up?" Harry replied getting up and walking towards her.

Hermione smiled, but she knew that he figured out something was wrong. She was no mind reader mind you, but she could just see it in his eyes. So she took a deep breath and just walked normally over to him, she didn't know what to even say any more. Her mind was filling with so many things, then thinking for a moment she smiled at him. Her hands in her jeans as she stood in front of him.
"Maybe I am just going mad Harry I don't know, but something is very wrong at the school. I over heard two new kids, they became Death Eaters, according to the two of them. Voldermort is working on something, having more students become his minions. So trusting anyone is going to be even harder now, I mean I know I may have issues with new people, but this time I think its very serious. Then again I could be over reacting, but I know what I heard, and they didn't even know I was there."
She said very simply, unsure of what he would say, perhaps he would just laugh and say it was all in her head. She hoped it was, because it just wasn't right. Looking down at the ground, she closed her eyes and silently sighed. This whole Death Eater thing was upsetting, when she opened up her eyes she looked at him.
"We need to be on the look out even if they were just fooling around Harry."

Harry grimaced at what she had said. Was it really that bad? Were all of these transfers as she said, Death Eaters or training to be Death Eaters? Then why would they transfer over here? They had the United States and whoever was doing this over there. That could be something there, but he wasn't sure it was the whole story. There were probably some who came over here to be protected, and only found more destruction. There were some that seemed fine somewhat at least.
Harry took a deep breathe, and looked into Hermione's eyes, knowing he could trust her. If she wasn't sure, she would say anything right?
"Isn't this exactly what I was saying about Malfoy? I think we should keep an eye on these transfers. Some of them seem very suspicious." Harry replied nodding in agreement, worried much more than he was a second ago. It was ok, though, they would watch them, and Harry was determined to stop anything like what happened with Sirius happen with those he cared about, or at least didn't try to kill him.

She smiled some, she was glad that she had at least Harry on her side, and if she had Harry then she had Ron's support as well. Since Ron and Harry were a like in more then one way. Being best friends made time easier. But then she looked down to see what he was doing, and saw what he was reading. She smiled some. Looking up she needed to lighten the mood, she couldn't keep thinking about it. She made her peace about it, and she didn't want to keep harping on it, like she did sometimes.
"So any good stories in that issue today?"
Hermione asked with a very sweet smile on her face, she ran her fingers in her hair, brushing away strands of hair that was right in her face. She motioned for him to follow as she sat down in the shade and relaxed a bit. Or she tried to relax any way, it was always hard to relax any more. With all the new students, she wasn't to sure what to make of everyone. She was sure not everyone was rotten like Malfoy. But she knew there were a lot of Malfoy's out there.

Harry looked back down at the Quibbler he had been reading and sighed. Well it was quite entertaining, the Quibbler was. But even with how relaxing it usually is, he couldn't really relax. All these transfers stuck in his mind. What were they here for if it was just as dangerous, or even more dangerous? The picture of the young man he had met once before burned in his head. Phineas Lestrange was probably one of those, given how he talked, after of course some weird friendly talk. Maybe he just was fed up with having to try to win him over, or just so annoyed by it.
"There was an article about the Crumple-Something Snornack, or something. And Apparently Pixie bites make you possessed by one of the school founders' spirit. But nothing too much. Voldemort hasn't been doing too much. A few disappearances here and there, but that's it," Harry replied shrugging. Luna and her father were just fun to read about and spend time with, Luna at least was fun to spend time with since he didn't know her father yet.
It was very nice to know Lovegood was on his side from the very beginning. That kind of loyalty was hard to come by. Hopefully it wouldn't be shattered by something traitorous, though Harry would understand if he stopped printing stories that angered the ministry. At least it was somewhat reliable, unlike the garbage the Daily Prophet printed. He was still bitter about the year before.

She smiled at him and listened to what he said, she sighed some wondering what was on his mind. Placing her hand on his shoulder she smiled at him kindly. Silently vowing to make sure he is safe, and that her friends all are. This war was getting bad, sighing some she looked into his eyes and hugged him for a moment. Relaxing a bit, she looked up seeing no one was around, which was a good thing. Since with the new kids she didn't know what to think of all of them. They maybe strange but they were just from another place.
"Keep your chin up Harry, things will be ok. We have been through a lot together, you turned me from a real pain to someone who seems to be nicer. Though I know I still have my moments"
She said softly, laughing a bit she sighed a bit. Sitting down, relaxing and looking up. It began to make her wonder what would happened to them next, but she was glad he was reading something good..
"Good to know there is still some true reports out there, then what we used to read, man what trash that was."

That was easy enough for her to say. Her only father-figure didn't just die. She wasn't orphaned. She wasn't raised by a couple who seemed to hate him so much. Then again, he was used to the abuse, since he was raised by the Dursleys, and he was toughened up a bit since the Tri-Wizard Tournament, Basilisk, and Quirrell, and she didn't have to face things like that. He knew things would get better, much better hopefully. At least he had something that was working pretty well and that was the potions book he had recieved, Half-Blood Prince. That was who it had belonged to.
"I know, I just wish things would turn out ok now... Heh, you were ok I guess, just too goody-two shoes. Ron and I did a good job turning you," Harry replied, sounding like a kid who was being impatient, but happily thinking of Hermione before the troll.
"Lovegood at least tries to make it truthful, unlike the prophet, though I do catch a few true stories in that rag of a newspaper. The other day I did see a story about a muggle family, and a few other wizards, but they keep claimed Voldemort isn't very powerful anymore," Harry replied thinking of how that was complete garbage, just like the stories last year about him being so priestly and high and mighty. All he could think to think was 'idiots'.

She smiled some and sighed a little bit, looking up for a moment, she knew he felt over worked. "I know you wish it, I wish it for you. Harry I know I don't know what your going through, but coming from my end. I feel useless, I mean your the one everyone talks about. The one that has to do the impossible and make it possible. But you have friends that want to help, and will always be there. And think of the day when you can live on your own and not with your aunt and uncle. And you have Ginny, I'm in love with Ron but I don't think he See's it" She smiled.

Harry smiled slightly. Of course Ron didn't see, he was Ron. Silly thick-headed guy, who was an amazing friend of course, just blind to love and all of that. It took Ron four years to see Hermione as a girl. That was quite funny though.
"I know. I just wish everyone would stop talking about me. I don't want fame or glory, I just want to a normal kid," Harry replied, "But that won't ever happen so I might as well just press on." It was hard being all famous at some times.

She looked down for a moment and slid her back against the wall thinking. "Your a great guy Harry, wish I mattered as much as you. But then again you have me and Ron, and Ginny. We have always been family, well since we became friends any way. We have gotten into a lot of trouble together, but some day it will pass and you will be able to live a normal wizard life." Hermione sometimes was a bit jealous but she would never admit to that, grinning happily she wrapped her arms around him.
"It will be fine, we are in this till the very end. "

Harry continued his half-smile. She could have all of his glory, all of his fame, all of his importance. It would be nice to just be a normal person, not have to worry about any of this. He just wished it was over already. "It won't ever be normal, I'll always be famous, for my famous defeat of Voldemort, or defeat by Voldemort. But I will always fight for everyone."
"That's what I'm worried about partially," Harry replied. What if they died because of him? He wouldn't be able to live with that.

She wanted to just grab him and shake him, looking at him with a determined look on her face. "Harry just forget about it, think of what can be. If you want something enough, you can make it happen. That's what my mother would say any way, she maybe a Muggle. But she would say that to you right now, if she was here. I know her so well." Hermione was always certain of herself, well ok that was a lie. Not always, however she did have a good feeling about this.

Harry sighed looking back at her. She was like a sister to him, thought not as annoying as he thought having a sibling would be. Dudley was like a brother to him, and he didn't really like Dudley at all, always taking whatever he had, and getting what Harry wanted. Hermione wasn't like that, but Harry loved her like a sister, and probably would always do that.
"I know. If you put your mind to it, anything can happen. But what are the costs of making something as big as defeating Voldemort? Half of my friends dead? Sirius has already died, my parents have already died. What makes me so special, and so sure to live, except for the bloody love charm my mother gave me? It won't work anymore, Voldemort can reach me," Harry replied as calmly as he could. He didn't want to get angry at Hermione, but she didn't seem to see what he was seeing. His road in life lead straight to Voldemort. Nothing else. He couldn't see anything else ahead of him. It was maddening.

Ron had said he would catch the other two up, he had to go and hand in his homework to Professor Snape. He was late with it again and managed to get another weeks detention. Ron was not the best at meeting deadlines, he only got work done on time if Hermione reminded him, he would be lost without her, if she knew how he really felt.
Ron walked around the corner and saw Hermione and Harry talking. He saw them whispering in the dark. He walked over to them and smiled. He looked into Hermiones eyes, everytime he looked into them he got a warm feeling in his heart.
"Hey, What are you two whispering in the dark about?"
He looked at Harry face, he looked a little frustrated, he hope he didnt walk in on them both having a heated discusion, Ron often walked into the wrong things at the wrong time.
