Professor Mcgonagol's office was calm and quiet. She had just left the office to settle a dispute. She always lets Paisley and her cat, Pluto, sit in there and paint. It was just so calm. Mcgonagol was good company so Paisley liked being in her office. Also Transfiguration is her favorite subject. Turning a creature into a goblet. So cool. Or Draco into a ferret. Awesome! As Paisley sat there painting she started to zone out until Pluto interrupted her thought. He was sitting at her feet, staring at her intensely and meowing. "What?" Meow "Hush I'm trying to work." MEOW "Please stop! You're making a racket."

Tristan had a few questions to ask McGonagall about this spell they learned in their last lesson. He just couldn't get the hang of the spell. Tristan knew it was supposed to silence their animal, which he was using an owl. But he couldn't get the jab completely right. Tristan was on his free time, and passed a small fight in the great hall, which Mcgonagal was settling, but Tristan didn't know that.
Tristan hurried up to the first floor and knocked on the office door, which just simply opened with his knock. "Professor?" Tristan asked walking through then spotting a younger girl whom he recognized as a Hufflepuff. "What are you doing here?" Tristan asked in a cold tone, though he didn't mean it in that way at all, he just wanted to know why she was there.

"You know, I wish I was good at charms, then I could just wave my wand at you and you'd be quiet." To Paisley's surprise, Pluto stayed quiet and Paisley went back to painting but he wouldn't stop staring at her. Moments later, some one interrupted her in mid stroke. She froze. "Uhm.... Well.... Pro- Professsss." Paisley took a deep breathe in and tried to spit it out. She's never been very good at speaking to Slytherins, especially male Slytherins. "Professor Mcgonagol lets me sit in here to paint sometimes. She just left to settle a dispute." She spoke low and quick. Not wanting to upset him.

"Oh... Ok," Tristan replied in an almost bored or frustrated tone, definitely nit meaning to come off that way, but he was having a terrible day so far, "I just wanted to ask about a spell we learned in her class, well I learned I don't think you were in my class..." Tristan looked around spotting a cat before staring at it. Tristan wasn't the best animal person, until it came to Thestrals, or Hippogriffs, then he was the best, oh and horses. He just prefered the horse like creatures, not centaurs though, they were weird to him.
"Do you mind if I stay until the professor gets back?" Tristan asked warmly in the right tone he wanted. Just because his day was bad didn't mean he jad to take out on others, though he did at times, "Name's Tristan Clark. What's your name?"

Paisley thought it odd. He was being nice. She's never known a Slytherin to be nice, at least not to her. They usually treat her like a second class citizen. Always glaring at her and doing as they very well please. "Of course you can." For seem reason, Paisley's voice was tinted with a tiny bit of poison. Pluto was sitting quietly but hearing her voice, he batted her with his paw and meowed loudly. "Hush Pluto." Paisley went back to her painting, trying to incorporate the mistaken stoke into the painting. She thought about what Tristan said and decide to be a little nicer. After all, Paisley is not a Slytherin. "Paisley Thornwood. I'm sorry for being nasty.... What's the spell? Transfiguration is my best subject. I'm in an advanced class. Maybe I can help."

"Thanks," Tristan mumbled. He wondered why he was becoming so bi-polar at the time, one minute nice and happy, the next a true Slytherin who didn't like anyone not in his class. It probably was with the stress that was building up, and the fact he knew more than he wanted about the future from various transfers. Tristan looked at her cat who was meowing at Paisley, and only slightly frowned, but otherwise kept his emotions from showing too much. He didn't want her to think he was crazy bi-polar and happy one time, and sad a second later.
"It's this silencing spell, we learned it last year, but I never got the hang of it, and we were reviewing it today, because tomorrow we're doing something similar to the silencing spell. I believe the incantation was 'Silencio', but it doesn't seem to want to work," Tristan sighed looking towards the door. He really wanted McGonagall to come and help him. He wasn't one to show actual care for classes, but he really did care, and without coming in he would surely do badly tomorrow.

Paisley stopped painting, took a deep breathe and thought, "Slytherins." To her, he was so weird. He was trying to be nice. He wasn't saying how idiotic she sounded by asking a precious 'Slytherin' if he wanted help by a stupid little Hufflepuff. Maybe he was saving the insults for later. To make it more amusing. They've done it before. Plenty of times.
She thought about that spell he was having trouble with. What was it? Silencio... It sounded familiar but it didn't sound like transfiguration spell, more like a.... She wanted to laugh. It was too funny. It's a charm spell, not transfiguration! She finally caught her breathe and said, "I'm sorry to burst your bubble but 'Silencio' is a Charms spell not a Transfiguration spell. Professor Flitwick might be a better person to help. I'm not very good at charms deary."

As soon as she spoke, he felt like such an idiot. Of course it wasn't Transfiguration! Tristan nearly fell from surprise of his stupidity. Here comes in one of the smartest people in his class (Technically, second if one went by grades in the houses, and fourth in his whole year.), and he makes a complete and utter fool of himself. It should have been just so clear to him. Of course he blurred most classes together lately seeing as he had other things to worry about, as well as a complete relapse into his memories of his dad triggered by the Astrid's admission of that they were from the future.
"Oh... I am such an idiot!" Tristan said insulting himself and leaning against a nearby wall, covering his face, in turn his tired eyes, which was his original target, "I'm sorry, I must seem like a complete and total idiot to you. Normally I'm not this way..."

She smiled lightly and kind of felt bad for the guy... Even if he was a Slytherin."Don't feel bad, if you put me in a normal 5th year Divination class I will have no idea what they are talking about. It is my worst subject." She was absolutely horrid at Divination. She was decent at Potions and Medical Magic and is amazing at Transfiguration but Divination is what she beyond sucks at. Although, Professor Trelawney absolutely adores Pluto and gives her a little slack. Speaking of Pluto, he has disappeared. Paisley did a quick look about and then asked Tristan, "Did you see where my cat went?" She thought, quite loudly in her head, 'Why do you always disappear! Especially when I need a little support!' He does disappear a lot but lately it's been happening a lot. Paisley mumble to herself, "Crazy cat...."

Tristan chuckled slightly and nervously, hoping not to open his mouth and make a complete fool of himself again. He really hated when he did that, and when he started, it was hard to stop looking like an idiot. "Divination isn't too bad I suppose, though I could be bias because Trelawney seems to adore me, even if I fail at her class." Which was true, since Trelawney thought something was good about him; what, he didn't know.
Tristan was barely paying attention to the cat, seeing as he wasn't one to like cats too much, though he would tolerate them. "Sorry, I dunno. Maybe he ran to the litter box?" Tristan shrugged hoping that wasn't a stupid commment.
