It was finally time to visit Hogsmeade, and Temperance was thoroughly excited. She loved Hogsmeade visits and spending her money, especially on sweets. If they were magical candy all the better in her books. Who didn't want a candy that made you levitate. She knew her sister back home would love some as well and made a mental note to purchase extra candy for her.
Getting out of bed Temperance quickly showered and brushed her teeth, deciding to forget make-up today. Throwing her hair in a messy bun, she started looking through her wardrobe. What did she want to wear. She decided on a pair of black sneakers, a plain deep purple long sleeved v-neck shirt and dark denim jeans with white stitching. Heading down from her dorm to the commons area she realized she forgot her money, and a jacket. It was cold out and if she wanted to purchase anything she better not forget the money in her trunk. It had been burning a hole in her pocket for awhile now and she really wanted to spend it. Returning to her dorm she grabbed her needed items and headed out of the school.
As soon as she arrived she headed straight to Honeydukes and entered the warm little shop. She already had a mental list of things to buy; Chocolate frogs, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, Fizzing Whizbees, Ice Mice,Licorice wands and Sugar Quills. Deciding to first look around she started wandering the isles. There she saw passed the rows of fudge Honeydukes created as well as rows of different types of chocolate. Thinking she shouldn't have skipped breakfast she picked up a small multi pack of chocolate and continued on.

Jacob was actually having a good day today, not worrying too much about what his future was going to hold. In fact he was planning to go to Hogsmeade and Honeydukes. When he had gone to school before Honeydukes was the only place that didn't seem brought down, and was really active and a fun place to be. Surrounded by sweets and happy people wanting to get some candy, and the walls painted a bright color which seemed to bring up everyone's mood. It really seemed to be the place to get away from the world and just have fun. And now, Jacob hoped it could be the same.
Jacob threw on his light blue jeans, which were slightly older and with a small worn area around the bottom of the jeans, since the last year they were slightly too long, though now they were just fine, since he grew about an inch over the summer. For his shirt, he chose a white T-shirt that was a nice new looking shirt with the logo for the English Quidditch Team printed on the front. His parents made him wear his ugly Dark Mark shirts a lot of the time, and he was glad he wouldn't have to wear them for a long time.
As Jacob entered Honeydukes, it was just like what he thought it was, bright and cheerful, and an amazing place. Jacob took out a small bag of money, which he had on him when they changed time, which had a good 50 galleons in it. Jacob was too busy looking at the shelves to realize where he was going, and Jake accidently ran right into a woman, around his age, who was shopping just like him.
"Oh, I am so sorry," Jacob said looking at her, "Wasn't watching where I was going."

Temperance felt like a child in a toy store, surrounded by all the candy and bright colors. It was making her giddy, hyper and in an even better mood than she was in previously. Unbuttoning her jacket, she saw Licorice Wands and Sugar Quills set side by side. Walking over to them she picked them up, debating to get both or get one and wait on the other. Shrugging she placed both in her arms and mentally checked them off the list. If she didn't get them now, she might forget next time.
Turning to head down another isle she sidestepped a older lady who had just made a purchase and was heading towards the door, smiling and nodding at her as she went around. Seeing the fizzing whizbees, Temperance walked over to them. She knew she better get her sister a pack of them or she would never hear the end of it. Her sister was seven, and loved Hogwarts and wanted to attend so badly, but more importantly, she loved candy. Grabbing two packs of five she added it to her arms. Laughing at herself she figured she must look like a pig, buying all this candy. So far she had Licorice Wands, but she would share them with her sister, Sugar Quills, for late night studying, fizzing whizbees, also sharing with her sister and a multipack of chocolate. And that wasn't even her full purchase plans. Inwardly shaking her head at herself she turned to another isle.
Standing in the next isle, Temperance was juggling between purchasing pink squares of coconut ice or honey-colored toffees for her sister, when she was suddenly ran into by a young man, probably her year or so. Dropping her armfuls of items, she quickly bent down to pick them up. Grabbing them an item at a time she finally had everything back in her arms, deciding in that instant that the toffee was the better choice she set the coconut squares back. Looking towards the boy, she heard his apology. Nodding she replied with a smile," Oh don't worry about it. I was blocking the isle."

Jacob was about to help pick up what she had dropped, but then she picked it all up before he could help out. Jacob's cheeks slightly pinkened not being used to accidently messing up like that. Jacob tried shrugging it off, but he still felt slightly embarassed, though the pink faded quickly. Jacob didn't feel it was her fault at all, he should've been paying more attention, but of course they could get into the pointless fight of it's my fault sort of thing, so he didn't address it too much.
"It's ok, really I should've been looking, but it doesn't really matter I suppose?" Jacob said with a smile, then looking to the amount of candy she had and chuckled to himself, before catching himself, "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Jacob, but if you prefer, some call me Jake for short. If you don't mind me asking, but what is your name?"
Jacob hoped she didn't ask about his last name because it really carried weight on the judgement of him. Lestrange was one of the darkest and most well known for Dark Arts families that there ever was. Of course he had to give that to his mother, whom was Voldemort's biggest supporter there ever was. Either way, he just hoped he could get off on the right foot with this woman, since he didn't meet others very often, though he tried to meet as many as possible.
Not many people seemed to like him though, at least for who he really was. He was cunning and sly, and persuasive and secretive enough to keep his true self from his mother, father, cousin and everyone else who wanted him to lead the new Dark Lord Revolution. But then again, he was brave and very undiscrimatory, as most of the other houses. His house seemed to mislead people to his sort of personality as well.

Temperance nodded her head in agreement. No it didn't matter, what was done was done. There was no point in fussing over it. Smiling she told him in response,"No harm, no foul." Watching him look to the amount of candy in her arms and chuckle she started to blush. She knew she looked like a candy fanatic, never before had she run into someone, even literally, who had seen her have this much candy. Temperance hoped that the red tinge to her cheeks wasn't to obvious.
"Oh, well its nice to meet you Jacob,"Then she added,"Jake."she smiled at him juggling the items around in her arms so she could extend her hand out to him. "No I don't mind at all. I am Temperance Williams. But since many find that a mouthful, I also answer to Tempy." she said to him with a grin. When her sister was first learning to talk she couldn't pronounce Temperance, what she managed to get out was the word Tempy. Now that was what her family usually called her. So she started telling her friends, and that stuck with them too. At first she had detested the name, but now it was just another part of her.
Looking at his face, she didn't think she recognized him, but she assumed he was a Hogwarts student as well. He was just probably in any house but Hufflepuff, which was her own dear house, one which she loved. She only had a few friends from each house, but mostly from her own. "Do you go to Hogwarts?" she asked deciding she might as well ask since she didn't know. Shuffling the items in her arms again, she spread them out evenly, making a mental note of what she still needed to pick up.

Jacob was just so used to having pointless arguments with people, sometimes with his parents, whom he was scared of, well mostly his mother, and his real father, but Rabby wasn't too bad, almost like he cared about him. But when he got in a fight, it usually ended up with his mother or father lashing out to teach a lesson, to 'teach' him how to behave like a future Dark Lord. At least Rabby seemed to ignore the fact he was You-Know-Who's son, and treat him like a normal kid, which was nice for a change.
"Temperance? That's a really beautiful name," Jake said with a smile, "Tempy, I love it!" Jacob was quite a nice fellow, though he did inherit his temper, cunning and slyness of his parents. But not the cruel attitude or prejudice, so he wasn't too much like most Slytherins. Jacob didn't know how to judge the girl in front of him at the time, since he didn't really know at the time what she really was like, but he would give her a chance.
"Yeah, 6th year. Just transferred from the United States, Slytherin... How about you?" Jacob asked. He hoped that she didn't find him repulsive because of his house. It seemed that every time he seemed to tell someone about his house, it seemed that they felt a bit colder towards him. Almost like it was terrible to be a Slytherin, except for to Slytherins, whom seemed to love him for who he put off to them. It really wasn't him though.

Temperance blushed at his comment about her name. She had always just thought it was a mouthful of a name, and very unheard of. When she was younger she used to wish she had a name that everyone else had, like Ashley or Kayla. Nodding her head at his comment she managed to reply,"Well thank you." Hearing he loved her nickname she laughed. Everyone always seemed to enjoy her nickname. She just contributed it to the fact that her name was such a mouthful that they always choose the nickname for the easier route.
Listening to him explain that he was a transfer from the States she nodded her head. There was a fair few transfers this year, if she remembered correctly. Hearing he was a Slytherin was slightly shocking for Temperance. They usually weren't apologetic when they ran into a person, nor were they friendly to those they weren't a Slytherin. For him to be neither of the above was in itself a proven testament to the fact there was good Slytherins out there, or so she thought.
"I am a Sixth Year Hufflepuff."she said to him with a smile in reply. She didn't mind the house he was in, she was friends with people from Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, and her own house. She didn't really have any friends from Slytherin though, they never seemed to be friendly enough to outsiders. So this was a nice change she thought to herself.

"Just stating the truth," Jacob replied truthfully. He couldn't usually get away with thinking something that wasn't harmful to himself, such as his real father to those of this era, and not say it. He did have a tendency to tell too much of the truth sometimes, not knowing when to shut up. If he didn't like someone he came right out and said it. But then again if he saw some value in keeping them on his side then he'd hold his tongue.
Jake was somewhat of a worrier of what people thought of him, which wasn't always a bad thing, but it made him feel frantic when meeting new people and worrying if he came off as like some of the evil members of Slytherin. Even to the his fellow Slytherins he wasn't as biased and sometimes defended people from other houses, but then again he wasn't himself, or he would be outcasted and his cousin would probably try to kill him, which he didn't like the thought of that, Phin was almost as scary Jake's mum, Bellatrix. Though Bellatrix was scarier at times.
"Haven't met too many Puffs in my life who didn't hate me," Jake sighed, but then put on a smile knowing that here it would be different at least to those of this era, since they didn't know his father was the Dark Lord who would ruin their life. Eventually it would probably get out and then his dear real father would seek him for the truth. That would not be pretty.

Temperance smiled at him and replied,"Well thanks Jake, I appreciate it."[/color] Sometimes people that didn't know you, would just say complimentary things to make you happy, and easier to talk to. He seemed sincere enough, and it made Temperance smile. Juggling the items in her arms once again, she decided to set some of the down, at least while she was talking, so her arms didn't lose feeling and fall asleep. Setting a few items on the shelf next to her she finally only held the licorice wands and sugar quills. Then she said with a grin,"Its nice to meet an honest man."
Even though he was pretty good at hiding the worry at announcing he was a Slytherin, Temperance thought she saw a flash of quick worry cross his face when she asked him his house. She could understand why, Slytherins usually weren't the best people to meet outside of school, and they sure made it clear they didn't want to meet non-Slytherins. But he was totally unlike that from what she had seen so far.
"Well, I haven't met to many Snakes who would give me a chance." she replied to him truthfully. "But here we are." she added to him with a smile. She believed that not everyone in certain houses were stereotypical. She believed not every Ravenclaw was smart, not every Gryffindor was brave, not every Hufflpeuff shy and not every Slytherin mean. She always thought a person deserved a chance before she judged them.

"There aren't very many of honest men, and truthfully, I am not the most revealling guy, I like my distance from most people," Jake sighed. He really didn't want a lot of things coming out, like the time he had to torture a poor first year Gryffibdor a couple years back in order to keep Phin, and everyone in Slytherin and ruling the world from killing him, even if he was the rightful 'heir' to Slytherin and the world. The boy's face of terror still haunted his dreams and thougts as it was now. But if he had anything to say about it, he wouldn't of had to torture the boy, because he would never exist since Voldemort would not be alive to be his father.
Oh she called him a snake, a term he did not like, since it meant they were snake-like or something. But then again he did call her a puff, so Jake didn't say anything about it. Truthfully he was almost a Hufflepuff himself, but he convinced the sorter to put him in Slytherin, which came as a relief to Jake.
"True, true. It woukd create more houses unity if we were sorted later, because then we meet and become friends and then we are separated and have made some bonds with the other houses... Either that or no houses would help as well..." Jake said with a slight smile feeling that what they needed right now was house unity throughout Hogwarts. He liked people from all the houses and made friends, lying to people like Phineas on why. He usually told Phineas that he was using the others he didn't see as real friends true as he was using those who thought of him as the new leader of the world, despite being onlu 16 years old.

Temperance nodded her head in agreement. There wasn't very many truthful men out there anymore, nor women for that matter. Everyone always had something to hide, something they would lie to the ends of the earth about even if it wrecked their life. Hearing he kept people at a distance she listened quietly. Once he was finished she said,"There is nothing wrong with distancing yourself, besides that doesn't make you to be a liar. A liar wouldn't have admitted that." People distanced themselves all the time from people or situations they didn't want to be a part of. To Temperance it was just another part of life.
Seeing a look of almost distaste cross his face when she said snake, Temperance winced. "Sorry, I just said snake to prove a point. I don't think of your house as slithering around the place. I sometimes speak before thinking about it." she told him apologetically. That was the truth, sometimes, well a lot of the time she had a foot in mouth moment.
Listening to him talk about the house situation she nodded her head. If there was no houses, but one united school group at Hogwarts it would eliminate a lot of the problems. Even sorting later would help, she knew of many situations where people were starting friendships until they were placed in a certain house and then the friend ship was almost void because of it. "That is a good idea really. Have a large group of students for the first year, and only in their later years sort them. Or have a pre-Hogwarts school, one for children from 7-9 have a chance to go, make friends and learn." she said thinking about it. Then kids are already friends, so once sorted it doesn't matter.
Shifting her weight from one side to the other, Temperance leaned against the counter, knocking some of her items over, quickly up-righting them she smiled the boy and asked cheerfully,"So what brings you to this shop of wonderful eats?"

Jacob shrugged. He supposed he could be truthful, since if he didn't want to answer something he simply avoided it, and not normally lied. Jake was curious about the young lady before him, wondering why she thought that he was an honest person when they just met. But it was probably just because of his suspicious mood, since he couldn't have not come out of his family not being suspicious of everyone, which came in the family. "I suppose so... really I'm more like secretive and a hoarder of my secrets I suppose. Better than hoard dust bunnies, or stupid nick-knacks ." Jacob chuckled slightly at his comment, knowing it to be true.
"It's ok, most of us Slytherins can be like that at times, I just don't like the word, well because it reminds me of some... things," Jacob replied sprouting a small smile, knowing that it reminded him of his father, and his whole family, which he tried distancing himself from, but that was very futile. Jacob felt that this young lady was a pretty cool person, and he didn't get the feeling that she was going to screw him over, which he usually had a good sense on who would, such as Phin.
Jacob listened to her agreement with his smile still showing, though still just a small smile. It wasn't very often people agreed with this opinion of his. The ones he had told either thought that he was telling a joke, which he definitely wasn't, or that he was crazy and they didn't really talk to him anymore. Usually they just thought it was a joke, but it was no laughing matter. He really felt more house unity would help a great deal. Just because one is Gryffindor didn't mean that they had to be enemies with all Slytherins, and vice versa. "Yeah, maybe like that muggle school... what is it called? Elemenry? Pre-School? Something like that. Though of course it would be magical, but maybe just the basics, you know what I mean?" Hopefully him suggesting the muggle thing wasn't too far-fetched, but Jacob thought that maybe they had the right idea, maybe, just maybe, but he wouldn't really say it to anyone very often.
Jacob had forgotten what he had been there to do, but when she asked, he remembered the bag of 50 galleons. "Oh, I was just coming to see if Honeydukes has this candy from back home, the chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans." Jacob wasn't sure if they had been invented by this time, so he didn't know if he would find them, though he thought that they probably were, and there was a high chance of getting his furry paws on some, since they were his favor sweets, even if Bertie Bott's had a few rotten tasting beans, such as vomit flavored or something like that. But it was also nice because then with every bean a surprise awaits.

Listening to him speak, Temperance smiled and nodded her head, then giggled with him as he made a small joke. "Yes, It would be better then hoarding dust bunnies, sooner or later they might become one and rebel." she joked. Then she thought about it, she herself hoarded pictures, that she, herself took, barely any left her possession, only when given to her family or a close friend. Then she grinned and said to him laughing,"Well I can't talk about hoarding, I hoard my pictures I take." She was glad to have bumped into him, enjoying the random conversation that was taking place. But that was part of who she was, she enjoyed random, made life that much more interesting.
Nodding her head in agreement Temperance said,"Yes, they can. But so can Gryffindors and Ravenclaw and even us smeak and mild Hufflepuffs." She had met certain people in each house that she wouldn't want to associate with just because they were untrustworthy. Slytherins just took the worst of it, and that was just because of certain people in their own house. She knew that she, herself, could be untrustworthy to different people, just based on her judgement of them. No one was perfect.
As she spoke, she noticed his still smiling. She was glad that they were in agreement on the pre schooling issue. Not many people agreed, they were happy to be sorted as soon as possible into a house and then pass judgement on everyone not in their own house. She knew that there was of course inner-house friendships, but she believed there would be more with them meeting earlier and not being separated until later. It would create a unity. Hearing him speak she nodded her head and smiled. "Yes, preschool, or kindergarten." she said in agreement. That was exactly what she was thinking of. "If we went to that prior to Hogwarts, met kids and then came to Hogwarts, we would have more skills starting out, and a wider variety of friends. Plus another added bonus is more jobs." she said in a rush, thinking about all the possibilities it could open up. Stopping her talking she blushed and said,"Sorry, sometimes I get carried away. I just need to remember, one step at a time."
Hearing what he was looking for Temperance smiled her head and nodded. "Yes, we most certainly do." she said to him. Then she laughed thinking about Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans, she unfortunately had gotten a few nasty ones in a row, such as vomit, earwax, burnt popcorn and bogey and had stopped enjoying them, and therefore had not purchased any in the past while. "Do you get lucky and only get the good flavors?" she questioned him with a grin, because she knew she wasn't that lucky. Then she added,"I mostly stick to Droobles gum, licorice wands and sugar quills." Looking down to her arms and the shelf next to her she added with a laugh,"As you can plainly see I suppose."

Jake laughed at the thought of a dust bunny army invading Hogwarts and forcing all the students to make their dorms unclean as to sprout more dust bunnies. Just the thought of something like that happening was ridiculous, but hilarious. When she mentioned her love of pictures, Jake was reminded of a good friend who also liked taking pictures, and one who gave him a camera to do it with. "Hoarding pictures isn't at all bad, it's like hoarding memories of good and bad times, quite useful I must add," Jake said with a smile, thinking distinctly of his friend Summer.
"I guess there are snakes not only in the snake's dungeons," Jacob replied thinking about it, feeling it was probably true. It was most likely because he was raised to stay away from the other houses as much as possible that he didn't talk with many of them. But his want to get away from people he disliked, which would be most of his house, though some of them were quite fun to hang out with.
Jacob listened to her explanation and enthusiasm on the subject, and was very into this conversation just as Tempy seemed. He didn't mind that she thought her to be rambling or talking too much, but in reality Jake didn't really think she was going on too long. "It's ok, I didn't think you got carried away at all. It really like the idea. It seems like something that really needs to be done, it would definitely help, especially in times like this. More jobs, more unity, it could mean all the difference for future generations." And the future was his past, which wasn't good, and anything to change the future for the better was good in his book.
"Oh good, I love them," Jake replied smiling glad that they existed, since he loved them very much. "Not at all, I usually have the worst luck with them, but I still love them. It's like a challenge with every bite," Jake laughed knowing that it was one of the things he liked, mystery, challenge, things like that. They were what seemed to make life fun, at least so far he had felt like that. "Haven't ever had Droobles, but the others are amazing!" Jake replied looking in her arms then at the shelves laughing slightly, "If I had gotten here before you, they might not be anything left on the shelves for you to have!"

Temperance watched as he laughed, probably at her mention of a dust bunny invasion. She grinned, thinking it was funny as well. It would be the most random thing to ever happen at Hogwarts and entertaining for that matter. Hearing him comment on her picture hoarding she smiled. "Yes, I suppose that is true. I hide the bad memories ones." she joked. Then she added,"Pictures are just fun, and its hard to get the same photo twice, and it captures beautiful moments. I mostly have pictures of the grounds at Hogwarts." Her room at home was quite literally filled with pictures of Hogwarts, just so when she was home, she wouldn't miss the grounds at all. They after all were her favorite place to relax and get inspiration for homework and her photography.
Nodding her head in agreement she said to him,"Nope, definitely not just in the dungeons." There was always just a group that gave people a bad name. "Besides, I doubt everyone is Slytherin could be as horrid as Malfoy can be." she said to him. He was the most frustrating student that gave them a bad name, always trying to get everyone in trouble, especially Harry.
Temperance listened as he told her she wasn't rambling, that it was a good idea, or he liked it at least. What the rest of the student population and even staff would think as a whole different ball game. Nodding her head she said to him with a smile,"Yes, I think it needs to be done. I think the doors it would open up would be amazing. And what are we here for if not trying to better the world for future generations. Thats why we learn after all, isn't it?" They learnt history because there was hope then for the past to not repeat itself, and Temperance believed every class had some way to benefit the future, or make the student aware. "Now only if every one agreed with me like you do, or how I agree with you." she told him.
Temperance smiled as he said he loved chocolate frogs and bertie botts beans. Listening to him say he was unlucky with them, she raised an eyebrow. "You have a good outlook then, I got four or so nasty ones in a row and gave up on them." she told him with a grin, shuddering at the thought of tasting them again. Hearing he never had droobles Temperance told him,"Well it is amazing chewing gum, you can blow blue colored bubbles, that last for days. And one piece of gum, the flavor lasts for a decent amount of time. I always give it to my sister before I leave for Hogwarts to irritate my mom." Grinning at the memories and the angry letters she had received from her mom complaining about the blue bubbles stuck to the ceiling. "Well I am glad I got here when I did then." she told him with a grin pretending to guard her own items.
