Jacob smiled at her comment on her keeping the bad memories away. Jacob didn't like his bad memories, which was why he considered them bad, but he always kept them in his head, as to remember them and learn from them, not making the mistakes he did before again, though occasionally he was taught the lesson more than once, such as talking back to his parents. Boy, Bellatrix wasn't happy when he did it, but of course if he were just her and her husband's son he would have been punished more severely, but his mother practically regarded him as a hero and saint that needed a lesson taught here or there. "I know what you mean, sometimes seeing something once in your life isn't enough and a scene won't ever happen again so a picture is in order, and all the memories it comes with," Jacob replied with his smile prevailing on his face, having left his camera in his house, he couldn't take any pictures at the moment.
"Malfoy isn't too bad if you get past the fact that he can be a scrawny prejudice git. Really he is just a confused boy looking for his way in life, and his parents are pushing him down the path they took, at least his father took," Jacob said thinking about it, only hearing vaguely that Malfoy had joined the rebels, though Jacob had met him here, and found him to be not that bad. Then again, most people aren't completely bad, and might act mean and rude, but usually they have a good side. Heck even his mother married his father, and she was as evil as they came.
History always repeats itself, no matter how badly they tried preventing it. Grindlewald, Voldemort, and various other dark wizards who tried to seize power. When would they learn? Jacob hoped that it would happen soon, that people finally realize that they aren't learning from the mistakes others had already made, setting them back from a nice peaceful settlement. The French sure learned that one person shouldn't have all the power from Napoleon and the French Revolution. "Exactly, the future is what we make it, and right now the future's looking a bit grim and severed. If we keep this up, more chaos will envelope our world," Jacob sighed, thinking about it, and how it was oh so true, since Voldemort won and made the world an extremely dark place to be in.
Jacob chuckled at her descriptions and how he supposedly had a good outlook. It was such a good outlook to have that Voldemort would win and kill so many people, so much meaningless bloodshed. And Jacob was there with Voldemort at his left hand side, since his mother was his right hand side, watching the terrors unfold. It wasn't a good outlook at all, but he supposed that perhaps the fact he loved Bertie Bott's reflected that even through the bad a great taste will emerge eventually. "I don't give up easily," Jake simply stated, meaning it completely, he even didn't give up on defeating Voldemort now, even if it meant him never existing. "I should get some of it," Jacob said with a smile dominating his face, looking to the shelf and picking up a box which he glanced at making out the words 'Droobles' and 'Gum', then shaking his bag of money as if checking to see if his galleons were still there. He knew he shouldn't spend too much on candy, but a galleon or two wouldn't hurt, he just needed to get through next year and then get a full time job. "Very good, however a close watch will be in order," Jake laughed pretending to snatch some of her candy from her arms.

Listening to him talk about pictures she nodded her head in agreement. That was exactly how she felt. Photo’s saved those little moments you wanted to cherish forever, it helped to keep them alive, once you forgotten if you found your picture it would renew the memories. Pictures were very important to Temperance, and to her little sister for that matter. “I couldn’t have said it any better myself. That is exactly it.” She said to him, a smile across her face. She always had her camera on her. If you were to search her bag that she carried on her shoulder at any given time you could bet it would be in there. “I actually carry mine with me all the time, just in case something interesting, or memorable happens.” She told him.
Temperance waited quietly for him to finish his comment on Malfoy. She had really didn’t think of Malfoy as an okay person. He was always so rude to everyone, bullying them every chance he got. “I suppose that is true, but you being in the same house as him, you get to see a different side of him. The only side the rest of Hogwarts gets to experience is the bad side of him. He doesn’t give non-Slytherins a chance.” She said believing that to be true. She had never witnessed Malfoy have a polite conversation with anyone but Slytherins and even then it wasn’t always polite. Then she added, “I can see that his parents are at fault pushing him to be something, which isn’t fair. Sometimes parents need to butt out and let their children live the life they choose. Not one they tell you to follow.”
Hearing his comment, Temperance sighed. It was the truth; people did need to make the world a better, more united place. Stop worrying so much about blood status and long lost feuds that were reborn. “Isn’t that the sad truth. If only everyone could realize this, then maybe we could all work together. But until it really hits the fan most will stay completely oblivious.” She commented. It was the sad truth of history. Even this past year, looking back when Harry tried to tell everyone that Voldemort was back and he was hushed and ignored, it placed them steps behind working together to try and defeat him.
Temperance smiled at his statement of not giving up easily. “That is also a good thing. I give up on nasty food items and flying. But keep trekking along when it comes to anything else.” She said with a grin. Even her worst subject, Transfiguration, she would keep plodding away at until it was finished, and she would like nothing better than to chuck those books out the window.
Nodding her head in agreement with him she smiled and said,”Yes you should, it is a very interesting choice of gum.” She always got a kick out of it anyways, watching him pick up a pack she grinned; glad he was going to try it out. Watching him in pretend suspicion she watched him pretend to snatch some candy from her arms, and hopped back a step almost losing a sugar quill in the process. “I see I will have to watch the precious candy very closely.” She said with a laugh.

And who else did Jake know who always carried around a camera? Jake was starting to like this girl a lot. Maybe he could have more friends that weren't Slytherins, and whom he could trust to keep his identity, and side of the war, a complete secret. He liked when he could actually feel safe around someone without feeling like he was treading on glass just to make sure they wouldn't leave him alone. And being alone was one thing Jake hated most. "Oh nice, I have one down in my dorm, but I suppose I could miss the best moment for a picture, and never experience it again."
Jake shrugged thinking that she was probably right about Malfoy, since he was supposed to be a real git to those non Slytherins. Then again, Jake was taught about Malfoy in a mention at school as a traitor to the Dark Lord, and therefore if one saw him they were supposed to capture or kill him. Jake saw him once, but that was it. Jake was away from Hogwarts one summer when he saw Malfoy walking through the forest. Jacob simply hid quickly and watched as Draco enjoyed the forest, obviously not being careful, but probably wanting some time to relax and think. Jake admired Draco from that point on, not because he was walking through the forest, but because then Jacob knew that Draco was real, and actually did resist the Dark Lord after being thrust into service to protect his family, because his father had failed. Jake wanted to be like Draco once he left the Dark Lord, the one who dared to leave the Dark Lord, and he was (or would be) living proof Jake could separate and survive.
"That's true, but then again, have you tried to be nice to him? I mean he could be mean, but maybe he just needs someone he can talk to, and relate with, but doesn't want to seem weak to other Slytherins as he makes these relations. How many non Slytherins have given him the benefit of the doubt? Sometimes friends take a bit of work, and he could be a valuable friend," Jake noted, thinking that sometimes people just agreed with others, and while Draco did mistreat most of the non Slytherin people, he didn't know if they had even tried to be friends with him. Jacob felt he was rambling slightly on how people viewed and treated each other, but he hoped she didn't mind, as he had a couple of thoughts more on the subject of this. "It's slightly sad when a child grows up expected to be like their parents. Even Harry Potter has his parent's influence on his life, but it isn't as suffocating. I hate when my parents always insist on me doing some stuff, but I do my best to do the opposite, seeing as we have opposing views, probably because of my uncle and aunt who taught me some of my ways, though alone and no one knew about it."
Uncle Lestrange and Aunt Lestrange only met with him a couple of times alone like that, but Jake loved them more than his real parents, and trusted them more, going by their teachings and not his dad's nor mum's, nor real dad.
And it was about to hit the fan. Jake knew it. Dumbledore would die, Voldemort would take over, forcing people to see their own way, and once the Battle begun, two sides formed, with rare people who didn't care who won the fight as long as they lived. It was a really great equal split, of course some of those on Voldemort's side were just too scared to fight, though not cowards in Jake's eyes. "That's true. It's a very sad truth, though I have a feeling that change is going to come. Can't you feel the growing tension between the Dark Lord and Harry Potter? Something big is about to come... and now I feel like a seer." Jake pictured Professor Trelawney and her huge glasses, and then pictured him in her clothes and glasses making prophecies, which wasn't a pretty sight to behold. Almost funny.
"I've learned that I needed to prove myself in everything, in anyway I can, to prove myself not as what others think. I guess my want to continue on and give chances to things, determined to like things that normally aren't the best, and risky to do, is my way of showing that, I suppose. At least that's what my friend says," Jake explained thinking about it, remembering what his uncle, aunt, Ravenclaw friend, and his mentor, whom was a teacher at Hogwarts, and most likely some sort of spy for the Rebels (though he didn't know for sure, Jake just guessed it to be so).
"Oh, do you English folk have this candy, I believe it is called... lemon drops?" Jacob asked, remembering he had found a small bag in a secret passage, having eaten most of them over the years, but he could never find them again. Jacob assumed it was some old candy or some kind of candy that was banned by Voldemort. "Very closely," Jacob added with a smile and with a slightly raise of his eyebrows for only a second.

Temperance smiled hearing that he too had a camera. "But there is always another moment that comes around that you will be ready for." she told him with a smile. She always found that if she missed one, one would pop up later better than the first to take a picture off. Personally she just hated leaving it behind in case she witnessed something to spectacular to miss. Looking at him thoughtfully she smiled, not many others truly enjoyed pictures it seemed.
Listening to him discuss Draco, she thought about his words. She personally had never tried to talk to him one on one. But there never was a chance for that. She remembered in one of her first years sitting near him in a class they had together she had tried talking to him, but he was surrounded by other Slytherins and had been quite rude. After that she just avoided him. But if he had been alone he might have acted that much different and could have been friendly. Nodding her head she said,"Once, one of my first years, and after that I just avoided him." But she did hear truth in his words. Everyone needed friends, even ones outside of your own house. That was part of the point of Hogwarts, to meet students from each house, otherwise classes would be separate and there would be no mixing of students. Temperance nodded her head. Parents influenced their child whether the knew it or not. Hearing him talk about his own family she wondered why he would wish to do the exact opposite of their wishes, although she knew it was none of her business. "Yes, parents do seem to influence their children's choices, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. But it happens none the less. But I don't believe it is all bad, most of us are our parents, but different in ways that make us our own unique individual." she said to him. She knew she was her parents, had a lot of their values, ideas and beliefs. But there was subtle differences that made her that much different from them as well.
Temperance nodded her head, you could split the tension with a knife. Everyone was tense and they had a right to be, Voldemort was back, and the whole wizarding community had been fearing it for years. "Something big has to come, for better of for worse, there has almost been a stalemate to long now." she commented. Hearing him say he felt like a seer, she couldn't help but smile, despite the seriousness of conversation. Picturing him dressed up like their Divination teacher would make anyone smile.
Hearing him tell her how he felt the need to prove himself in everything just to show people he wasn't what they thought she nodded her head. You had to give everything a chance before you gave up on it and tossed it to the side. Temperance understood what he meant, but she was a insecure Hufflepuff, never trying anything risky for fear of the repercussions. "Well it seems like you have a very smart friend then." she said to him with a smile.
"Yes, I don't think they sell them here, they are a muggle sweet more so. But some of my friends bring them to Hogwarts on occasion." she told him thinking of the candy, it was one of her favorite muggle sweets. Ever once in awhile she would get her friends family to send her some. Grinning as he told her that she should watch it very closely she nodded her head and said,"Dually noted."

Jacob smiled widely. "Hopefully, with my luck probably not," Jake laughed with a huge smile, knowing his luck was probably some of the worst luck ever. But then again, of course Jacob had good luck sometimes, even if rarely. Jacob loved taking pictures, ever since he got his camera, only a few months ago. Since then he probably took a good hundred pictures, some of people, some of views, some of Hogwarts, and one of a very special person, who was Harry Potter. It wasn't the best though, just a blurry picture of him going to class. He couldn't have Phin finding out and telling the world Jake was some sort of stalker. Phin would probably be extremely happy that he was 'undercover' and 'gathering intel' or something like that.
Once, of course, he figured as much. From what Jake was told Draco was a prat in his first year, at least to the rebels he was, as he was taught Draco was the perfect little child up until his seventh year when he began wavering loyalty, so Jake assumed it was opposite for the rebels, and everyone else non-Slytherin most likely. He could picture a small boy parading around the school with his snow white blonde hair, and Slytherin robes. Almost reminded him of Phineas, though Phin was with dark hair. "One time can't sum up a person. He's probably just lost, and confused, and the only way to express it is to be mean to others," Jacob sighed, knowing not really that much about Draco, having only learned a couple of weeks on some important figures, including Harry and Draco. "That is a very mature point. I never really saw it that way... I really hope I don't turn into my parents," Jake shuttered at the thought. She probably wouldn't understand exactly why, but to him it was one of the scariest thoughts. Jake's mother was cruel and heartless killing for fun, loving the smell of blood and screams of pain. And Jake's father... well he was the one causing all of the trouble.
It almost felt like if someone accidentally stepped only a nanometer forward, the line would trip, and the whole world would explode into a fiery battle. "It's sooner than everyone thinks. And I think it will be the Dark Lord who will make the move. Since we are standing firmly on a great defense perimeter." Defense was easier than defense, which is why the Battle of Hogwarts went on for a long long time, but in the end Voldemort won, due to... well Jake didn't know.
Jake supposed she must have been right about his friend being smart. His old mentor was quite smart, and could have been a psychologist if he wanted, but he had decided to be a professor. Plus his other friends usually had a good idea on what he was truly like. He seemed to pick the smart ones as friends, with such great takes on people in general, or in personal to him. "I guess so, usually my true friends are the really smart ones, usually not Ravenclaws."
"Muggle candy? Truly?" Jake asked completely taken in surprise, looking at her with almost disbelief. He thought all muggle candy was destroyed! "It's weird there wasn't supposed to be any muggle candy left in America." It was one of the first acts after the Battle of Hogwarts, get rid of all muggle food and sweets, which would have included a sweeping of all passages in Hogwarts, yet his bag was left.

Temperance grinned as he told her with his luck that it probably wouldn't happen. "You can't have that bad of luck? It usually just comes in threes, once your done with your three, you are good to be lucky again!" she told him with a smile. Her trend of three unlucky things hadn't started yet, but she assumed they would appear sooner or later, when she desperately wanted good luck. She loved catching moments with her camera, not even amazing moments, but just little unique ones. They were worth keeping, because who knew when they would appear again.
She nodded her head, one time couldn't sum up what he was really like but she didn't have the need to try and be friends with someone who was always rude to those other than Slytherin, and he was rude to them too. "No, it doesn't. But it turns you off wanting to try again." she said to him honestly. After that once she just avoided him, why try when he didn't want to, no use stressing overs something that she wasn't forced to do.
Smiling as he said he didn't want to turn into his parents she said,"I am sure they aren't that bad." Then she said to him,"And you always see a few children who turn out one hundred percent different if that is what they want." She of course had no idea why he wouldn't want to be his parents, most kids didn't seem to mind to much or put to much thought into it. She didn't want to be her parents exactly of course, but they weren't terrible.
Listening to him talk about the war being sooner than they thought and his reasoning made sense. Voldemort did want Hogwarts, and Harry Potter, it only made sense he would attack here eventually. She wondered why he thought it was sooner than everyone thought. "Why do you say that it is sooner than we know?" she asked him curiously.
"Well the Ravenclaws aren't the only smart ones!" she said to him with a smile. Just look at Hermione, she was super brilliant and not in that house. She had lots of friends that were smart and not in Ravenclaw. But for the most part she couldn't put her friends into a specific category, they were all so different. But she preferred it to be that way. She wondered who his mentor was, but knew it wasn't any of her business.
Laughing she nodded her head. "Yes, it is muggle candy." she told him. Looking at him she wondered why there wasn't suppose to be left in America. "Is there no muggle candy where you are from?" she asked questioningly. As far as she knew there wasn't any bans on it, but sometimes she could really be out of the loop.

Optimism wasn't he strong suit, but Tempy seemed to be optimistic about life. Jacob could be a pessimist at times, though he tried to see the good in everything, as every cloud has a silver lining. Take his bloodline; people who knew respected him or feared him, and those who respected him would follow him, and maybe he could change their minds. "Oh that doesn't happen for me, it's more like 10 bad luck things, 1 good, then 10 more bad," Jacob said keeping a smile, knowing that things would happen and turn bad real soon. Even if he didn't know things were about to be serious in the coming war, he always knew bad luck seemed to stalk him.
"That's true of course, first impressions do tend to carry weight," Jacob replied knowing that his first impression of a group of gryffindors put him off for a few years, until he came around and made friends with them. Jacob just wished everyone didn't weigh so much on first impressions.
"You have no idea," Jacob said darkly, "My parents are the worst, you probably know of them, as they, or at least mum, is infamous." Jacob hated to think of how Bellatrix was now, in her prime almost, though that was still far back, her infamous title in his time came from this time with the kill of Sirius Black and the help in the up and coming war. Even as an old lady Bellatrix had been very demented.
Jacob kept his cool, thinking fast on how to reply, before it came to him. He would use that girl who made that prophecy before as his excuse of knowing. "Promise not to tell?" Jacob questioned, not really wanting to tell a lie, but knowing it was for her own good. If he told the truth of how he was from the future in such a public place, who knows the consequences, and she would think he was joking or just plain insane. So therefore he would stay with the story of that seer, Ariana, with a little lie as she predicted it as so.
"That is true! Hermione Granger, for example. Or a transfer like Rose Weasley," Jacob said with a laugh thinking about how Ravenclaws were just assumed the only smart ones, when in fact he knew that Phineas Lestrange was one of the top in his class, and Rose, even though she didn't go to Hogwarts very long before they were shoved back into this time.
"Yeah, the Dark Lord, I mean our Dark Lord, not Voldemort, destroyed all of it, except the bag of lemon drops I found hidden away," Jacob explained, thinking there was no way of her knowing that it would happen in the future, as it might not happen if Jake had anything to say about it.

Listening to him speak that instead of bad things coming in three they came in ten with only one good thing to break them apart, and she raised an eyebrow. She didn't think anyone could have that bad of luck. "Well that seems unfortunate, but could you possibly be that unlucky? " she questioned him, giving a small smile. She always tried to look on the bright side, enjoy life, live it to the fullest, because you never knew what tomorrow might bring.
Temperance nodded her head in agreement. First impressions were everything to a lot of people. And she k we deep down hat they shouldn't be. But after being greeted very rudely, why would you want to try again. Especially with her, she tried something, and as soon as she got her opinion on it it was usually very difficult to change her mind. "Yeah, they seem to with just about everyone." she commented shifting her weight to her other food, readjusting items in her arm.
Watching him discuss his parents she noted the change of tone with his voice. She could tell there was some distrust or dislike there and was surprised. She had never thought of a child to dislike their parents, but at the same time she didn't know what they could have done to earn distrust from their son. "Oh, we'll I guess if you know that, you an change what people think of you at least, show the world your not your parents." she commented, wanting to ask who his parents were but knowing it wasn't really any business of hers.
As he asked her to promise not to tell, Temperance nodded her head and said simply,"I promise I won't tell a soul." she was interested to know why he thought it was quickly approaching, and the thought scared her. Nobody wanted to say or agree that the war was on their doorsteps.
Temperance smiled and nodded her head. "Exactly, Hermione could give any one a run for their money in any subject. And I have heard Rose could too." she said smiling back at him. On the whole Ravenclaws where just studious striving for top marks she thought, not that they always get them especially while in class with Hermione. Just because each house had different qualities for selection didn't mean the student didn't have some of all the qualities for each house, because she was certain everyone had a piece of every house in them.
As he explained that their dark lord had destroyed all muggle candy she raised her eyebrow. She hadn't heard of another dark lord, but at the same time, they were all preoccupied with Voldemort returning to know about another one. "Oh, well that's unfortunate, some muggle candy is absolutely delicious." she told him with a smile.

Jacob smiled as a small smile came his way from Temperance. Of course not all the time he was that unlucky, sometimes he was even more unlucky than that. Deciding she probably didn't want to hear about how unlucky he felt, he replied, "I suppose not, it just seems like it I guess."
Jacob knew how it felt to judge on first appearances and meetings, since he had done it himself several times. He just tried to avoid it. He hated when people judged him in a few minutes of meeting or seeing him. Especially if the judgement was because of his parents or the fact he was a Slytherin. But if someone hated him after they got to know him, then he was ok with that, though he didn't like when people did that. "Just wish it didn't carry so much," Jacob stated, then noticing how stupid they looked just stanin in the middle of the store, "We should probably go check out."
"I try, but it doesn't work the best in the world, especially since I don't want my famly to hunt me down and kill me in my sleep if I stated half the things that I think of," Jacob shuttered thinking of how Phineas woud react in this way. Rodolphus wasn't the worst in the world and would not like Jacob very much, though wouldn't resort to killing him in his sleep. His mother on the other hand would torture him, and if he didn't crack before he went insane, she'd kill him once he went insane. Now his real father would be angry and send parties to hunt him and he'd never be safe again.
Jacob smiled slightly, putting on his devious persuasion techniques he learned from Rodolphus, whom he refered to as Dad, "I have this friend, and well... she's a seer. The other day in a prophecy she said something would happen extremely soon between 'The Dark Lord' and 'The Only one he Fears'. I think she said sometime within a revolution of the Earth around the Sun." A lie, but a believable one, and hopefully she wouldn't think he was lying.
"It's very true. Plus Ravenclaws aren't only defined by being smart, I think there are other qualities, at least that's what I've heard," Jacob answered with a smile. Truthfully he knew, but he couldn't make her think he knew everything about Hogwarts, so a little ignorance would be expected since he was a transfer.
"According to the Dark Lord, muggle candy corrupts the mind and should be destroyed to prevent innocent pure blooded minds from its corrupting ways," Jacob answered with almost a chuckle at how ridiculous it sounded.

Tempy smiled listening to his comment on his luck. "Yeah, I guess sometimes things just seem to be worse than they are. Sometimes they are worse than you actually think." she said to him thinking of different times where she didn't think a situation was that bad, then talking to someone later they thought it was way worse than you did. " All luck of the draw I guess." she added. You never knew what your cards may chose to play, everything seemed to change from one minute to the next unexpectedly.
"Yeah, I know I shouldn't. But it's hard to say you won't and then actually do it. Like they say easier said than done." she said to him. she knew she wouldn't like to be automatically judged, or didn't like to be. Everyone always assumed as a Hufflepuff she was introverted, not smart nor brave etc. But here she was outgoing and talkative, somewhat smart depending on what subject you were discussing and brave... Well kind of brave. It all went down to first impressions, you had to actually get to know someone before deciding. Not base it on a three minute conversation. Sometimes people had bad days. She knew she did.
As he said to her they should probably check out she realized they probably did look slightly ridiculous standing in the isle, blocking others way and just chatting. Nodding her head she picked her items up from the shelves, careful not to drop any and headed towards the counter, picking up other things on the way that caught her fancy.
Listening to him further discuss his family she raised her eyebrow, wondering what kind of family he had. Especially with the fact he seemed legitimately thought they would hunt him down and killing him. "So not so much entitled to your own opinions?" she questioned before she could stop herself, blushing knowing it wasn't really her business. She could pretty much say whatever she wanted to her parents (unless very disrespectful) and they wouldn't get mad for her opinions, because they all knew she had many. She couldn't imagine not being able to speak her mind, she would probably be dead by now if with a stricter family like the one it sounded he had.
As he told her he had friend who was a seer that told them of this prophecy she nodded her head. Curious why it was being hushed up instead of warning people. She had heard nothing about it. But she knew that surprisingly enough some things could be kept a,secret at Hogwarts as hard as that might sometimes be. "Oh, I see." she commented to him simply, thinking about what he said.
Temperance nodded her head agreeing with him. Singing one of the few sorting hat songs in her head, Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, where those of wit and learning, will always find their kind. It was one of the many ways she remembered little things, and once finished singing in her head she commented,"Yes, wit and learning, ready mind is what the sorting hat says."
Temperance found it hard to believe someone could possibly think muggle candy could be corrupting. It sounded very far fetched. "Really? That is strange. How could muggle candy possibly corrupt our minds." she said shaking her head in amusement. Some of the things people thought of, ridiculous, she thought to herself.

"Then again it could be true," Jacob said with a chuckle, "But nobody knows." Jacob smiled before thinking about how unlucky he seemed to be. Of course meeting up with this girl was good luck on his part, but everything else today seemed to be bad, especially in Divination where he made a complete and utter fool of himself. He definitely felt like a bad luck magnet, but it didn't matter. Jake looked on the bright side thinking that if he was taking a lot of the bad luck up others could have good luck since he wasn't hogging up any of it.
"True... Even if it is easier said than done, we should still strive for it, even if it completely unreachable," Jake replied with a smile. He knew that he tried to make himself the best he could ever be, even though his expectations were too high. In order to do that he had to do some bad things, though he would stay true to himself once he started what he wanted to do.
Jake walked with her to the checkout counter, offering her to go first politely, as he held his galleon bag aloft. She was a sweet girl and Jake was going to offer to buy what she was getting, but knew he needed to conserve the money he had. He made sure not to pick up the ever appetizing candy as they passed it.
"Ah... um," Jacob began feeling it was getting a little personal, but he decided this small amount of this sort of personal information couldn't hurt, though he still had his reservations about it, "Yeah, my parent's are some of the strictest people." Which was true. He just wanted one of his family to accept him for who he was, and the closest one to that was probably his cousin Tuesday, who wasn't like the others in their family, but then again she usually kept her opinion to herself.
"Yeah, my friend didn't want anyone to know, because... well she doesn't want people to know that she's a seer, so... yeah," Jacob replied sprinkling his little lies, harmless lies, into what he was saying. For all he knew it could be true, he didn't know. It was all of a sudden that he girl went and made a prophecy, so it could be very true.
"Darn those wit and learning people," Jake joked with a small laugh. He was ok with Ravenclaws, but it was one of his least favorite houses, because those he met from the Ravenclaw house were extremely overpoweringly arrogant, except those he found to be a friend, which were rare from Ravenclaw so far.
"I don't know, I just know what D- he said," Jake replied, catching himself from saying Dad, because when he wasn't around his family and around those who knew of his true parentage, he called Voldemort, Dad, because that was what the Dark Lord was. While he loved ol' Roddy, he wasn't his father by blood, though considered him a lot like a dad. He just wished his real dad treated him like a real son, and would accept him no matter what he thought about the reign of terror his own father caused.

For the most part, Temperance thought she was pretty lucky. Nothing overly terrible had happened to her. Not wanting to jinx herself, she knocked on the wood shelves she was standing next too. Because her luck could always easily change in a moment’s notice. Tempy smiled and nodded her head. “Yes, that is true. You never know.” She agreed, grinning as he chuckled. The worst luck she had was in Transfiguration, it never worked for her. She always made herself look incompetent in that class. She was almost always the last one to finish a transfiguration in class. But then again that wasn’t luck; it was just her skill level for the most part. She sometimes wished she could get lucky and understand the class. Temperance nodded her head, once more in agreement. “Yes, we should.” She said with a smile wondering if he had a lot of judgments passed on him just for being a Slytherin. And she inwardly scolded herself, knowing he must. Kids were mean and would alienate anyone if given the chance, especially if it was another house they were competitive with. She couldn’t imagine being in Slytherin or Gryffindor. They had a lot of rivalry. Whereas with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw they seemed to more so coexist rather than compete and prank.
As he let her go first she smiled and said, “Thanks.” Setting her stuff down, the clerk totalled it up setting it within a bag. Telling her the total she gladly took the money out of her pocket and handed it over, waiting to receive her change. Upon receiving it she stepped to the side so Jake could approach the counter and pay for his own items. She was definitely stocked for awhile now, and wouldn’t need to come shopping here for awhile.
“Sorry, it’s not my business.” She told him apologizing as he stumbled on a couple words. As he told her they were some of the strictest people she nodded her head. She decided to keep her mouth shut at this moment in case word vomit sprayed out again. Her face was still somewhat red; embarrassed that she had spoken without thinking. Letting him tell her about his seer friend she nodded her head. She wouldn’t want the entire school or population to know she was a seer either with predictions on the upcoming war. “That is understandable.” She commented in reply. People would be relentless with their questions if they found out she had a prophecy on the war. She would tell those that it mattered to, who could do something or tell her where to go with her information.
Temperance laughed with him as he said darn those wits and learning people. She didn’t really have many Ravenclaw friends; they were too studious for her, always questioning everything to no extent. She was fine to just know the answer, not needing to know the hows and whys of it. There was a few she would talk with occasionally, but she wouldn’t say they were close friends. More so acquaintances.
As he stopped himself from saying something, Temperance raised an eyebrow, curious to know what he had stopped himself from saying. But remembering her word vomit earlier, she decided against it and kept walking towards the exit of the shop. “It seems crazy to think something so small has an impact.” She commented instead. It probably wasn’t anything she needed to know anyways.

"Yep. Good things usually happen only once, and we should try and enjoy the good things in life I suppose," Jacob said replied. Wasn't he a bucket full of wisdom? Ha. That would be the day. Normally when he said things like that, they were wrong or proven wrong. He didn't have enough wisdom or experience to actually know.
Jacob simply nodded at her response. Oh how he wished everyone could not prejudge him on house or parentage. Just because he was the son of some guy that everyone hated or loved, didn't mean he had to be the same way. And just because he was the son of Bellatrix didn't mean that he was crazy like her. Jake wished he could meet his cousin whom he learned was in the rebel group, second cousin something. He just knew that his mum's sister's child was still alive and that his mum had killed the child's mum. People thought he was weird when he thought things like this aloud and was glad he wasn't voicing it.
Jacob quickly checked out, pulling out the three silver sickles that his items cost. Shouldn't be too bad. Maybe he should get a job so he didn't have to worry about every knut that he spent and budgeting the money he had over the next couple years until he graduated and assumed his place next to Voldemort as son, but at the same time not actually being a good right hand man and working his way into the Death Eaters' minds and slowly crushing Voldemort's power, or something like that. He hadn't the specifics down or any of the process except to become a sort of spy in Voldemort's ranks.
"It's ok, most of the other transfer already know, so it's not like I'm not used to answering personal questions. Though usually I'll just ignore the questions..." Jake replied. Most of the Slytherins were the ones asking questions like how did it feel to know he was the next Dark Lord, or if someone had tried to kill him before. And yes, people did try to kill him, because they were jealous or didn't want a new Dark Lord.
"Yeah," Jake said, really hoping she didn't sense a lie, since it was partly true. The girl was a seer, and told a prophecy and he bet there was a prophecy like what he said there was. Ariana was her name right? Jake thought for a second and came to the conclusion it was Ariana or something close to that.
"True. The Dark Lord," Jake said, before deciding he should make sure it seems sort of realistic and make sure she knew not Voldemort added, "from America of course not what's-his-name Dark Lord here, wanted us completely cut off from everything muggle, unless you counted muggle slaves of course."

Temperance nodded her head with a smile as she listened to him talk. "Yes, we most definitely should enjoy the things in life, no matter how big or small." she said agreeably. Besides you never knew how long they would last or if they would come around again. Besides it was the smallest things that made you the happiest. "Thats why I always try to be random." she added with a laugh. She always tried to be random and spontaneous. It made life interesting and she always wanted to life life to the fullest.
As he nodded his head at her response she too nodded her head. She knew she didn't have as many judgements passed on her being in Hufflepuff as a Slytherin would have. The worst thing said about her own house was they were a bunch of duffers. And it was easy enough to prove that wrong.
Temperance stood there as he checked out, paying the cashier holding her bag of items. After his purchase was completed she started to walk towards the door. As he spoke to her saying most of the transfers knew she nodded her head. "Well feel free to ignore me whenever you feel the need. I sometimes speak before I think... Ok I do that a lot." she told him with a slight smile. She had just proved that moments earlier after all. "I promise not to take it to heart." she added flashing a smile.
Listening as he said yeah Temperance once again nodded her head. She had no reason to not believe him, and she didn't know him well enough to get a sense of when he was lying or not. She was only good at reading people once she had known them for awhile.
"How many dark lord can one earth have. Like really?" she commented. "I don't understand how blood purity is so perfect." she added as he said their dark lord used muggles as slaves. "Muggle slaves." she muttered more to herself than him in disbelief. What was the wizarding society coming to when candy was banned if it was muggle made and they were becoming slaves.
