Mari respects Ryuu deeply, but she worries about him. She thinks that he's going down a dangerous path; since I think that she considers him a good friend, she is fiercly protective of him. She's a very motherly person, which is funny because Ryuu is older than she is.
Rie is a stubborn child, but she'll eventually concede and curb her usage of Massao. She cares what Ryuu thinks and doesn't want his opinion of her to suffer. By the time that she stops using Massao full-time, though, she'll probably be fully blind.
The whirlpool barrier is a summoning jutsu, so you would have to undo the summoning. Ryuu is the only person outside Uzu that currently knows how because, obviously, none of the Uzukage have ever decided to spread that around. Rieko's illness came about as a result of the injuries she sustained during the assasination attempt along with her overuse of Massao; her immune system (which is weak at the best of times) just couldn't fight off infection. Mari would definitely come out to see her once the barrier was down. She's the Kazekage, so it obviously wouldn't be right away, and I'm sure that she and the Tsuchikage have their issues, too, but she would come.

That is funny! Ok, that's good, that is about what I figured it would be, almost... Good information for future reference. Ryuu would be happy, but unhappy since she has lost her eyesight, which would make him much more protective over her, and pretend he has cut down on Moudouken, and not tell her he really hasn't... which will probably get him in big trouble. Ok, cool! So what I was thinking was that Mari or someone else contacts the Daichiran about the whirlpool barrier, and how whoever was sure that Rieko was in trouble and such. At first Ryuu doesn't seem to react to it, while he is quite worried and begins on a journey to see what is wrong. Things happen on his journey, but ends up there. And he goes to see Rieko. That's about what I have, though I do have said events that happen on his journey, such as a meeting with his old team, who happen to be on the way to the journey. Hayate tries to kill him, Ryuu simply walks off, trusting Riku and Kaito to defeat them, before he casts Amaterasu on the forest they were in, once Ryuu knows that Riku and Kaito were away, and his old team can't find them. Oh, and I decided to change Ryuu's disappearance to 7 years so that his son could be a genin, and their interactions will be quite interesting. And his son, Kouki (which means little hope) has yet to unlock it, but has the Moudouken just as his father.

Rieko will be annoyed by his over-protectiveness. XD She'll want to get back to her duties as Kage as soon as she is able, because she's a workaholic. I actually had a character I wanted to put by you, if that's okay.
He can go to see Rieko, but she probably won't realize that he's there. Even if she does, she'll probably assume that she's hallucinating; she's been delirious with a fever lately. It would be interesting to see a conversation between Ryuu and Rieko while she's in that state, actually. She's infinitely more honest when she's not in her proper state of mind.
Then Rie would have been ten when Ryuu vanished...hm.

Shoot!
Ha! And how would one go about curing her?
Either way it's only 2 years difference than before, she would've been 12 when he left, 3 years after the end of the war, 3 years after the Battle of the Hidden Rain.

This is Asahi. That's her only name, at least that anyone knows. Asahi. She's an ANBU from Iwa and a double agent, spying on the Tsuchikage for Mari and Z (since I think Mari will have confided her suspicions in Z). I think that she probably knew Z as a child (because he recognized her right away, if that's alright), so he's aware of her real identity: Akihime Mitarashi. At this point, she'll recover relatively quickly once her fever breaks. Yeah, my timeframe for Rie still works.

Oh I like her! I will add her to my brief plot outline I have for that arc. Also as I plan things out, I do need some more information about Raiden, you know, appearance, personality, history, important people to him, reason he does what he does, what he does, etc. Planning an arc with Raiden in it, so... yeah.

Raiden (played by Luke fon Fabre/Asch the Bloody): Raiden is Rieko's estranged elder brother. He resents his younger sister deeply after spending his childhood in constant conflict with her, and now tries to kill her, but he's not an entirely bad person. Once upon a time, he had a lover named Hana-hime. She died during Ryuu's rampage, though, thus spawning Raiden's hatred of all Jinchuriki, but especially his younger sister (who he didn't like to start with). Though he is bitter and hateful towards Jinchuriki, around regular people (especially children), Raiden is a charming, thoughtful, intelligent and kind-hearted young man. The duality of his nature tends to shock people. In battle, he is vicious and unforgiving, but he's rather gentle and even klutzy in his personal life. He thinks that he's doing the Jinchuriki a favor by killing them, but he's currently pretending to help the Leaf bring Ryuu home in an effort to get closer to the Daichiran. Oh! Asahi is played by Legretta the Quick, by the way!
