Brooke had gotten in trouble. Again. This time it wasn't for smart mouthing anyone or punching someone in the face, she'd hexed someone who passed by her. She claimed it was on accident, the victim said it was on purpose but didn't answer any questions that would give a straight away to what they did to provoke her. The ministry had sent someone to get her and keep an eye on her. She didn't need a baby sitter, plus she had a job to get to. She didn't see the point of having someone follow her around, why couldn't they just put her on parol and send her walking? The americans did it that way.
She started to tap her foot, she was getting really mad about all this. The fact that whom ever it was that was going to be her parol officer for the next week was late didn't help. Then the thought came to her mind. If it was a guy, and she went to her home, what would Damien think when she ended up coming home with a random guy? Would he think she was cheating? Would he understand that she was on parol for hexing someone? Or would he pay the bail and not talk to her for the rest of the day? So many choices....

Everard was having an ok run at this whole Auror business, but he wasn't sure if he really wanted to keep at it. Sure, he liked it enough, but really, for some reason it felt incomplete. He wanted to do something more. And now he was sent to be some sort of watch person for someone who got in trouble too many times. It was going to be a drag, he was sure.
Everard had to finish some paperwork up before meeting with whoever this troublemaker was, and he was running late. He couldn't focus on the work, it was very boring to say the least. Finally getting too frustrated, Everard threw the papers onto his tiny desk before storming into in the Atrium, knowing he was already late, and he was extremely frustrated. He was supposed to meet this troublemaker around where he was. There was a blonde there looking impatient, but that couldn't be the one he was supposed to follow around for the next week.
At least he wouldn't have to deal with as much paperwork now. Apparently they would still owl some to him during the week to try and deal with tailing this person, who he forgot the name of (he was terrible with names). He hoped whoever it was, wasn't difficult.
"Hello," Everard said walking up to the blonde who was nearby, though his frustration from all that damn paperwork was still in his voice, as he was still extremely frustrated with all of it, "Are you looking for someone?" She looked very impatient and looked like she was waiting for someone. If she had no business here, he would have to make her leave.

Brooke kept looking around and kept gong back to a nice looking guy who was walking toward her. She had to keep her air of I'm-too-good-for-you and not be her old self. She kind of liked being torturous to Damie, but he was always so forgiving. Only time he wasn't was when he got home from the war front.
Now the guy was talking to her, he didn't look like an auror. Maybe she'd already gotten in more trouble. She gave a side glare, "Hi." she looked around again till he asked a question. She looked at him and took a deep breath trying to calm herself, "Yeah, I am. What do you care?" her Jersey drawl wasn't one that most people heard in England, it usually earned odd looks. "Unless you're here to arrest me again, I've been standin' here waitin' on my parol officer for a long time. I ain't done nothin' to nobody." she was a bit. . . tense, if one couldn't tell.

Parol officer? Was that some sort of African term? He didn't really know much about other places, but Everard didn't hear about Parol Officers before... then again he wasn't he smartest in the world, and it was just him. He had a feeling that whatever a parol officer was, it was what he was going to have to do. Damn it. She seemed really rude, and he already made a bad start with this chick he was supposed to hang around for the next week. Why did the Aurors have to torture him so?
"It's part of my job to ensure that there aren't people just hanging around the Atrium for no reason," Everard said shaking his head before adding an annoyed backwards scoff, thinking of how amusing it was that she didn't think him as her escort, "You obviously did not do nothing to nobody. Why else would you have to wait for this... what did you call it... parol officer?"
He felt that messing with this girl should be a fun way to relieve his frustrations from all of those confusing words with that paperwork.

Brooke jutted out a hip and turned to face this guy. She really wasn't going to buy into any teasing, she refused to be subjected to it. After tossing her hair with her engagement ring flashing, she just stood there. Who didn't know what a parol officer was?
"Yeah, I'm not waiting around for no reason." she scoffed, "I didn't do anything! Just because someone walked by me and smacked my butt, I got annoyed and hexed them. It wasn't like the hex did any major damage, it just caused them to get boils and puke. ANd a parol officer, is the same as one of those stupid auror guides."
She tossed her hair again and stared coldly into his face.

Everard snickered at her explanation. Obviously she didn't understand what nothing meant, because that was an overreaction, no matter who it was. Sure a yell or two, and maybe a slap across the face. She mustn't be from here, because that sort of punishment (at least in this time, though in the future it was perfectly acceptable) wasn't allowed here. If he wasn't a transfer himself, he might think she was one of the 'Americans' but obviously not.
"I'm pretty sure that hexing someone so they get boils and puke is something. It is against the law, you know," Everard stated almost in a childish way, almost feeling that he should stick out his tongue, but deciding he would look really stupid if he did, "The Auror Guides? That's odd, because I'm looking for someone I'm supposed to follow for the next week or so." Stupid training. Why couldn't he go into some sort of battle? It was so boring here!

"You'd do the same if some random guy walked by you and smacked your rear end!" Brooke flared up. "It was self defense! When you grow up in New Jersey, you learn to respect yourself and kill someone with out getting caught. I was always at that school so I never really got the chance to show people not to mess with me. When I graduated, I was engaged so my fiance fought for me. I never did nothin'. I do one simple hex and I get put on probation." she threw her arms in the air. "Wait..." she cursed and stomped, "I have to stick with you for a week? Well, I'm going to be sent to Azkaban after this week is up."

"Actually, I might, but that doesn't mean it's not against the law," Everard chuckled with a cocky little grin, "A Jersey girl, huh? Unfortunately for you this isn't Jersey, so you must bare the consequences of breaking our British laws. It took me a bit to get used to them too. Not originally from here either. Dunno why your fiance didn't get in trouble, though," Everard wasn't a big person on caring if he kept the secret. The only reason he really was, was because Lily wanted him to. So, he wasn't the most careful person to go about all this stupid time travel thing. He had to keep Lily happy, or she wouldn't give him information right? Yeah, that was the only reason... Maybe. "And you think I'm happy about it either? You won't get sent to Azkaban, because luckily for you it usually takes using an unforgivable curse or almost maiming someone, and I'm quite sure that I can protect myself."

"Can't wait to move to Italy, I won't have to deal with stupid british laws, I won't be arrested for retaliation, and I'll get to just relax on my balcony." Brooke said thinking of all the things she'd be able to do once she was married and was legally a married adult. "American? What part of the country? And my fiance is Italian. He doesn't have to follow your rules. Only one he follows is the one about unforgivable curses. I've threatened people with them but I've never used them. Been too busy planning my wedding by myself to use one." She couldn't believe how many times she was sitting there going over note after note trying to decide which cake to have, what decor to use, everything! The only thing that was left on her part was her dress. The dress that she could never find. She was very OCD about this wedding and was not going to have it ruined by some horrible dress. There was one thing she needed to do that day, find a dress! Or the torture it was to guys who weren't related to the family. Maybe she'd force Gabe to go too, and of course Julius, Pyre, and a few others. Why wouldn't she bring all of them? They needed to help her. No, wait, scratch that, she'd do it with just her parol officer. Now the question was where to go..? Hmm, so many choices. "Mmm, I wouldn't be so sure, I'm horrible. I got voted most likely to go to jail by my fourth grade class. Isn't that grand? Now come on, I have a dress to find."

"But until then, make sure there is no need for me to escort you again," Everard said with a small chuckle. He didn't really like this girl all that much, but her attitude towards retaliation was much like his, besides the little bit about not ever using an unforgivable. In the future it was almost required to use the torture curse, and a couple of times he used the mind-controlling one to get information for the Dragon's Fire. He hadn't killed anyone because there really was no reason to.
"Not really from anywhere specific, I moved around the country a lot," Everard responded, only keeping the secret because of Lily and her asks for it. If someone called him out on it, he might just go ahead and tell. It wasn't like his future was at stake or something. "You're fiance's lucky then. The laws here are extremely restrictive, and I wouldn't follow them if I wasn't enforcing them." He really liked punishing and controlling what people did, which was part of why he wanted more than anything to be an Auror who could do those things.
"Very grand. A dress?" Everard said almost wanting to curse the Aurors who assigned him to her. He just didn't like going clothes shopping really, but he guessed he had to do it. "I suppose I have no choice but to go with you. Just don't ask me to help you pick something." He'd make the worst choice, and not on purpose. He just wasn't a clothing guy.

Brooke rolled her eyes, "Right because I'll deffinitly be staying in England the rest of my life." The only way that was happening was if Damien died in combat, even then she wouldn't stay. She'd move back to America, become that lady that won't return your stuff if you drop it in their yard.
"Everyone's born some where and real American's don't lie about where they're from. American's are usually proud of who they are and where they're from. Ever heard the 'Proud to be an American' song?" She usually got defensive about her home, even though she hated it deeply. Always, she would defend her birth country. ((I can picture Snape bursting though the door saying 'Always' is his line..)) "Look I don't mean to be rude, but I usually am anyway. Damien is BA so he can do what he wants. Cross me, and you get his protective temper or my attitude. Choose wisely." She was hardly paying attention to what he was saying. She was just going on and on about how he shouldn't be making her mad.
"Yes, a dress. What do you expect me to wear to my wedding? Shorts and s sweat shirt?" She really was going to have to throw a fit when this week was over. Really? This guy? He may be good lookin' but she really wasn't likin' him. "Funny, because that's what you have to do. I need some one to tell me which dress looks best so I know which on to get." Why did they have to pin her for this now? Couldn't it have waited for three years? She would be able to get out of it by then.

"Same here. Though it'll be nice to get out of the office and stop doing all the paperwork all the those above me keep assigning me," Everard replied looking around a bit, just in case one of the Aurors he was training under was around. If he was caught complaining, he might get caught with so much more paperwork. He was hating this job right now...
"Tch. That doesn't mean all of us Americans are proud to be Americans. I hated it there. I don't mean to belittle the country, but I really didn't like it there," Everard scoffed, though lying that he hated where he was from. The only bad thing that had happened was Voldemort dying. And even that wasn't that big of a deal, until that Harry Potter swooped in and took over with his muggle loving policies. "I am not afraid of Damien, or you. I just don't get scared of people really, just the way I was taught when I was little. It may be stupid, and your Damien could do whatever he wanted to me, but it won't stop me from doing whatever I want, though don't count on me breaking the law here."
"Yes, shorts and a sweat shirt would look great," Everard replied sarcastically, shaking his head and sighing. Why him? Why in the world him? Why was he stuck with such a woman? "Well prepare to pick whichever I don't choose." Fashion wasn't his strong suit.
