James had been on his way to the Great Hall as he was headed down the hall of the first floor. He stuck his hand in his pocket and noticed something was missing. A family heirloom, the Winston pocket watch was no longer there. That made James' temper start to flare.
The only time James felt this way was when people harassed his sister or if their attitude just taunted him. These were hard times to deal with because it was the few times James messed up, big time. Even though he knew better, James found it very, very hard not to break somebody's face because of his own faults.
With his rage boiling through his body, the best James could do was retrace his steps, but James didn't really remember when he could have lost it. After all, it was there when he left the dorms a few hours ago but who knew where he had been since then?
James began to walk back down the corridors of the first floor, hoping he'd stumble across his damn golden pocket watch. Knowing it was a stupid thing to carry around, James did it so he didn't offend his great grandfather who had passed it on to him. One of the few family members James didn't hate. Shaking his head, James prayed to Merlin that he would come across it eventually. This sucked pretty bad.

She'd been called in by Snape to discuss a position as the instructor for Hogwarts' Dueling Club, which she would have been good at, admittedly. Dueling was one of Emilia's great skills, and she'd been in the Dueling Club back in her Hogwarts days. She knew how it should be run.
A thief was still a thief, though. So, when she spied a seventh-year student that looked pretty rich, she decided that she'd pick his pockets. Low and behold! He owned a very nice pocket-watch. She could sell that for a lot.

As he was retracing his footsteps, James saw a lady and remembered seeing her earlier in the day. Not that he had thought much of it, but he got a vibe from her that made him want to hex her. Normally James didn't get that feeling unless there was a reason, but he didn't know what reason there was for it.
James kept his distance from the brunette woman, keeping his full attention focused on her as he looked around. It was hard to tell what she was doing, but it struck him suspicious that there was a random older woman wandering the corridors of Hogwarts. Forgetting of his pocket watch for the time being, James was going to figure out what she was up to no matter what.

She whistled as she continued to prowl the hallways of her old school, some American tune. Battle Hymn of the Republic, she was fairly certain the name was. Something like that. It was a nice tune; she liked it. She'd always liked older music, though. A taste learned from Ian, probably; he'd been such an old man sometimes.
She noticed that the student she'd pickpockted earlier following her and smirked to herself. He either hadn't realized that she'd stolen his pocket watch and wondered why she was in Hogwarts, or he'd figured it out and was waiting until she was in a more open location to attempt to hex her. Either way, he was in for a nasty surprise if he tried anything.
