Satsu had been down by the Lake meditating in one of her rare moments of peace since she got to Hogwarts when she felt a shadow pass over her. When she opened her eyes, she realized that it was her mother's messenger bird, a large Eastern Imperial Eagle named Himeko, and her father's, a Lesser Japanese Sparrowhawk named Yui, wheeling overhead.
Remembering chasing them as a child, she'd jumped to her feet and taken off down the shore after them, kicking up sand and rocks behind her. She probably looked like an idiot, chasing birds, but she didn't care.
Those birds meant that everything was looking up; her parents were in England.

Lily was flying around the campus in her animagus form. She loved the sensation of freedom that it gave her to fly exactly like the birds do. It was better than flying on a broomstick in her opinion and she was very good at it too. It seemed to run in the family for generations, the whole high Quidditch aptitude due to inherent flight skills. She had just brought her own to a whole new level. Lily screeched when she saw the two other birds flying by the Black Lake. They weren't owls like herself, but that kind of screech usually meant 'I'm friend, don't attack' in bird language.
Lily did not wait to see if the other birds did or didn't understand that she meant them no harm. What if they were hungry? Her animagus form was smaller than their natural ones and thus she barreled down, landing with grace on a low branch of one of the trees by the lake. That was when her animal eyes saw she also had a Human company at the lake. Lily was always up to meet new people and help them if they needed and didn't show themselves to be unworthy of her kindness. Rarely it had happened so far.
The young witch then turned back into her Human form sitting on the branch. She immediately felt that it would not sustain her full weight, so she fastly came down from it. A life lived hidden on a forest made her feel in her environment amongst the trees of the Forbidden Forest. Her steps were fast as she approached the other girl, who was of oriental origin.
"Hi. Am I interrupting you? I'm Lily P… Prewett." For a moment she always let slip her real family name, but recovered from it with just a slight stuttering sound. "I just saw you alone there and wanted to know if you need anything, like talking or whatever else... Though if I'm being spacey, I can leave as fast as I got here… No harm done." Lily offered kind and gently. She didn't want to get in the other girl's way and could mind her own business if told to do so.

Satsu stopped running at the very outskirts of the Forbidden Forest and watched the hawks wheel away. She sometimes regretted that she hadn't learned to be an animagus when Thalia Trovatelli offered to teach her, but she feared heights, so she wouldn't have been a bird, anyway. Still, it might have come in handy...she had many such regrets; she'd learned to not think about them. She was too busy to be preoccupied with what she'd fouled up in the past. All that she could do was attempt to not make the same mistakes in the future.
When she heard footsteps approaching, she instinctively whirled around and whipped out her wand. Seeing that it was one of her Housemates, she smiled warmly, tucking the wand away. The girl appeared to be a little younger than her, a transfer. Maybe another from the future...? She wouldn't know. Despite her occasional masqueraded trists away from protectors as Kaida Smith, Satsu was very naive to the ways of the world.
"No. No you're not interupting me...I'm Akiyama Satsuki; it's very nice to meet you, Lily-san," she replied, bowing a little and stumbling slightly over the 'l's in Lily's name. She still did that sometimes, even though she spoke English fluently. "I prefer to be called Satsu; it's easier, I think."
She tried to be nice to younger students, remembering the aloofness and cold attitudes of the elder students at the school she'd attended in her native Japan. It was not conducive to a productive school environment, she thought, if even Housemates scarcely knew each others' names.

Lily immediately regretted her way of approaching the other girl when she pulled her wand on her. Yet, Lily didn't reply in kind. Maybe it was a mistake not to do so, but she believed the older girl was just taken aback by her sudden appearance. Her instinct held true as Satsu withdrew her wand with a smile soon after. Lily smiled back and was glad to know that she wasn't intruding on anything.
"Hello, Satsu…-san?" Lily replied kindly and not knowing if the san should go for her companion too or not. She didn't know much at all about oriental customs. Actually Lily didn't have much experience with anything that didn't have to do with England, forests and fighting Death Eaters unfortunately. She also didn't recognize Satsu from anywhere, but that actually didn't mean much. She could be from this time period for all she knew. Lily also didn't believe that the time travel loop thingy that has got her family and others here could somehow reach Asia and so she erroneously thought that Satsu just couldn't be from her own time. She also had never seen the other girl as she helped the Resistance as Lily was never allowed to interfere in the battles directly as James and Albus did on some occasions.
"I have to agree that Satsu is easier." Lily said with a kind smile. "Though your name is very beautiful as it is as well. I just think I would have much trouble pronouncing its complete form." Lily said honestly. She wasn't a very proud person and had a good measure of her own limitations. "Unfortunately I just had the chance to learn a bit of Italian due to one of my aunts being from Italy, but no other languages so far. I'd like to learn more of them in the future and travel the whole world as the wizards of previous generations used to do after graduation." Lily revealed to Satsu. Nothing that she had said was a secret anyway and she felt OK to share it.
"Do you like birds as well? I saw how you were having fun with those eagles. Really magnificent animals. Yours?" Lily asked naively, not really wanting to intrude. She just wanted to commend Satsu for the beautiful birds if they were hers. "I love owls. The ancients used to say that they were the symbol of wisdom. I think that's exaggerated though, but I still love them." She added. Lily wasn't one to brag about herself or her skills or lack of them. Whichever was the case. That was the reason why she dismissed the whole owls being the symbol of wisdom thing. She could turn into one and didn't personally think she was that wise herself.
