Scorp had decided, that yes. He would indeed try to swim in the Black Lake, even if there was supposed to be a Giant Squid down there. It should be fun right? Though his worry was that if he went missing, no one would care. The only one he had seen from his time was Rose, and while their conversation went pretty well, they were still rivals during everything.
Scorp was in only his trunks and he jumped into the lake, swimming as deep as he could with the breathe he saved up. The water was freezing cold, but he always felt cold. And alone. The coldness would never go away, until he finally worked up the courage to tell of Raj, and even then Rose might not like him, and the cold would remain.
Swimming wasn't helping him banish any of these feelings, and in fact they seemed to make the worse. It wasn't that fun swimming with no one else. The last time he went swimming was a time when he, the Weasleys, and the Potters all went out to just relax. While he felt like a third wheel around all of the others, he still had some fun, even if he was distant. Though he did recall that Rose and he had challenged each other to swimming challenges. He won them all. Even the 'Hold Your Breath Underwater the Longest' challenge, which was sure he'd loose.
Scorp quickly swam to the beach surrounding the lake and simply sat, dripping wet looking out at the lake.

Eliza didn't make a habit of going down to the lake (it was depressing), but she was starting to get antsy being in the school with all of those walls. She was going to lose it soon of she didn't get away, and she really didn't want to explain why she'd destroyed a picket fence. That was awkward and she disliked explaining her phobia. People that hadn't watched men shot and left to bleed to death because they'd tried to scale the Wall wouldn't understand.
She lit her third cigarette as she walked down the to lake. It really was pretty, especially when there weren't a million people milling around. She wasn't fond of crowds, either; it reminded her of keeping look-out while her family crowded around a hole in the Berlin Wall to speak to her uncle. Speaking of her uncle...she wondered what he was up to.
She noticed a kid just sitting there in swim trunks. She didn't recognize him, so he must've been one of those Americans. What an idiot...didn't he get cold?
She took off her cloak an dropped it around his shoulders before sitting down beside him, exhaling smoke and offering him a smile.
"You'll catch your death like that, comrade. I'm Eliza Beilschmidt, by the way. Nice to met you."

Scorp quickly turned to see the one who greeted him. Eliza Beilschmidt, wasn't she from the Resistance in the future? Yeah, she was the one afraid of barrier's and walls, right? If that was the right one, then Scorp was actually happy this girl had walked up to him. He respected Eliza quite a bit, since she grew up in a terrible place for any one to grown up in, and then at Hogwarts she was a big help in the war effort against Voldemort, and beyond.
Scorp had admit that when he was little he had a crush on her, even if she was married. It was one of those little kid crushes, like when one crushes on their kindergarten teacher. Ah the memories of such an innocent past. It was amazing how much he'd grown since then, even if he had grown into this insecure, jealous, yet hardworking guy.
"Oh, I didn't know you were there," Scorp said nervously, pushing the hair out of his eyes and smiling, "I'm er... Scorpius, Scorpius Malfoy. It's nice to meet you too." Oh he hoped his last name wouldn't make her not trust him. That wouldn't be too great, getting off on the wrong foot with this younger Eliza. One of the things that really made him respect this younger one just as he did the one in the camp was that she called him comrade, that... felt good, even if she called everyone that. He liked to fool himself to thinking people actually accepted him. Not all Slytherins are bad, yes? He was cunning, and sly when he needed to be, just as he was resourceful, but he didn't carry too much prejudice and wasn't that mean to just anyone.

((Fun fact! Eliza died about two years before they all went back in time from complications stemming from previously untreated internal injuries she'd sustained during the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, in the future.))
She was a little taken aback at how this kid looked at her. It was as if he was looking at a long-lost friend or something. Did she know him from before? If she did, she would feel really horrible about forgetting him; he seemed nice. She usually made a loin of remembering everyone that was nice to her. (Okay, so maybe she was better with names than she claimed. It wasn't exactly anything she advertised.)
She smiled when he introduced himself. He was related to Malfoy, then. Well, she wouldn't hold it against the kid. Draco hadn't ever done anything to her, personally, so she had no real axe to grind with his family...well, besides the whole Death Eater thing. That was still no reason to be a jerk to this kid.
"You're Comrade Draco's relative, then? Ah, whatever. He's not so bad, I guess. I'm still glad to have met you. Hey, comrade, what brought you out here, anyway?" she asked. "You looked pretty down about something."

((Poor Eliza! I shall be sure to remember that))
He quickly banished his look of remembrance from his face. This Eliza didn't know that she knew him, at least not for another... well several years. He wasn't good at math. This Eliza didn't know that she had died two years ago to Scorp and a lot of people were sad about it. Maybe if Scorp... no. No. He couldn't allow himself to think such thoughts. Changing the future was something he tried his best to not do. Even if it saved a life. Changing one life could mean complete destruction or complete salvation, and the risk of everything falling, even if she had died just two years ago to him, was too great... right?
"Just a distant cousin. The Malfoys are a pretty big family," Scorp shrugged. Yeah, his father was actually a good guy... once he changed sides, and even became Harry's right hand man after Ron and Hermione died. He knew his father was a big fool in Hogwarts, or at least that was what Draco told him. Scorp admired his father once he turned sides, and well that gave him the life living with those he grew up with, which he liked. "Oh, nothing important, just girl trouble," Scorp shrugged before smiling, even if he wasn't actually that happy, his head still swimming.
Now Scorp was a pretty private guy, and liked to keep his feelings to himself, but he respected Eliza. He wasn't sure what he was thinking anyways. He wouldn't reveal anything important. In fact he hadn't even told his father about his girl problems, at least with names.

She wondered what was going on in his head to make him look at her like that. These Americans were weird; not shocking, considering the way Fräulein Peterson acted. ((Alice will later join the rebels as well, but she and Eliza never stop arguing.)) Or maybe she was the weird one but didn't realize it...? That was possible.
"Ahhh, well, things like that are complicated. If you want to talk, I'll be more than happy to listen " she promised then a thought. "Oh, hey, did you manage to avoid the worst of it during the battle? A piece of the roof collapsed on me; it didn't cause any serious outward damage, but I guess the internal injuries were worse. I wasn't gonna go to Madame Pomfrey, but some little Hufflepuff ratted me out. Don't ask me how she knew. Now I have to go to the Hospital Wing twice a day for treatment until my injuries are fully healed."
How was she to know that the Hufflepuff was her daughter? Eliza had never even considered having children, though she'd always wanted to.

((Awesome! )) A little Hufflepuff ratted her out? Now that was something new to him. Maybe it could've been...? Well if it was anyone from the future he had a feeling it would be indeed Eliza's daughter, Marietta, right? He hoped he remembered the name right, but then again he was good with faces and not names as much. "It's not that important, really, nor complicated," Scorp shrugged. Yeah, well... it was important to him, since the one he really liked was dating another guy, and seemed to like him. Really not all that complicated, right? She didn't like him back, so it was actually pretty simple. "Most of it, though I did get hurt ever so slightly," Scorp said thinking about the cut or two he had gotten, though he still had one scar from one of them. He was sure it would fade eventually. But that's when it hit him. Someone was definitely trying to save Eliza's life, and that didn't happen from what he remember, since he was sure she died from those injuries not getting checked. But he wouldn't interfere, because it was someone's life, and he wouldn't want to seal someone's death, because that would just be terrible. "Well at least then you'll get healed up, if you were to stay injured, well it could complications later in life," Scorp replied, knowing that it would've.

"Hey, it's important to you, und I'd like to consider you a friend, so it's important to me too. Comrades look out for eachother," she informed him. "I'm glad that you didn't get beaten up too badly; mein bruder broke his leg in four places. He accusses me of being reckless, though."
She shook her head and put her cigarette out in the sand before carefully placing the little nub back in the box. It was a habit of hers; she hated littering and tried to avoid doing it. As for her bruder, Pomfrey said that he'd recover but that he'd walk with a limp for the rest of his life. If he exasperated the breaks, Eliza would hit him in the head with his own crutch. Vash was always doing stupid things like that.
"I guess you're right," she admitted. "I just didn't want to direct attention away from more critically injured comrades, you know? There were some people who were really messed up during the battle."

Comrade? It just felt pretty good each time she said that she'd want to consider him a comrade. He wasn't sure why, but it was probably because he was extremely insecure and had low self-esteem. And when someone actually felt that they wanted to be his friend or actually his friend, well that felt pretty good. "Well I suppose I could tell you, as long as you don't get bored with it. I don't usually talk to others about it," Scorp shrugged, "I just like this girl who doesn't like me and is dating another guy." Yeah, he really thought it sounded really lame when he said it aloud. Was he really that stupid for loving Rose? It sure sounded like he was just a silly little boy who was in love with someone who hated him. Though Rose didn't hate him, right? They were just rivals.
"Oh yeah, I heard that there was this guy mauled by his werewolf, even though it wasn't full moon, and another who broke his ribs and is being held to the bed," Scorp said, thinking about Bill and a rumor he had heard about some guy getting crushed by the roof falling; he didn't know that it was THE Teddy he grew up with, nor that it was any Teddy at all. He really hadn't gone to the hospital wing for his injuries, so he didn't see too much of those who were injured. "However, after a battle like that, even the smallest of injuries could be just terrible in the future," Scorp said, shrugging, knowing he felt the same way, yet he still went even if he healed himself quite well, "Madame Pomfrey's pretty good at treating those who need it the most first though."

She nodded thoughtfully as he explained his love problems and seriously thought about her response to what he had said. She didn't want to say the wrong thing and make him angry. She wasn't Esperanza; she actually tried to think over what she said.
"Mein bruder, Vash, und my friend Esperanza have a very...odd relationship. They're always arguing; they seem like polar opposites. Someone who didn't know them might actually think that they hate each other. But, deep down, even when here dating other people, they care for each other deeply...und, if those two can work things out, then I don't think you should give up on that girl you like. Maybe, one day, she'll come around," she suggested.
She really hoped that what she'd said came out right; she wasn't always good with words. That was more her mutti's talent. Eliza could only try and hope that she conveyed what she'd been trying to say clearly. About half of the time she did, and the other half she failed miserably.
"Oh, ja, I was near the guy who broke his ribs," she remembered. "I don't know his name, though."

Scorp thought about it for a few minutes, you know about what Eliza said. He wasn't sure if he wanted to keep waiting around for years and years for something that may never happen. But when he was around Rose, well he felt different, and he loved being around her. Just the thought of their last conversation made him feel a bit warmer, and there was at at least the hope that maybe he could get with Rose and maybe eventually marry. That was a future that he liked.
"Well maybe," Scorp said sighing, "Though Rose and my problems go back to before we were born. Our parents really did not like each other, especially in school. We've always been rivals in everything. Plus, she's always snogging her boyfriend, and well she seems quite happy." Did he just say Rose? Oh crap. That was not what he meant to say. Well it was the girl he was after, but he didn't want anyone to know that, even one who didn't even get who exactly their parents were. He really didn't trust anyone with the information of who he liked. Well maybe one person, but no one else.
Scorp couldn't even imagine how painful being crushed under the roof so badly would feel. He felt bad for the guy, and well she just confirmed that the rumor was true. But that's all he heard, so he didn't really know much else. "I feel bad for that guy. He'll probably be in the Hospital Wing for the next few days. I'm really glad I'm not him," Scorp said, knowing that he'd heal faster, just because he was built that way, but even still the pain, that'd be pretty bad, and the only thing worse would probably be the torture curse, though Scorp didn't actually know how it felt so he was just guessing.

"Haven't you ever heard that women are complex creatures, mein friend?" she asked with a laugh. "She wouldn't even continue to waste her time with you if she totally hated you. As long as she considers you at least a semblance of a friend, you've got a chance. Be patient. Good things come to those who wait."
Unbeknownst to her, Eliza's words echoed advice that an elder version of herself had once said. If she had known, though, she would've shrugged it off and mildly pointed out that she doesn't really change much. She didn't like to over-think things. She usually came to bizarre conclusions when she did. It was the result of over a decade of sitting behind the Wall with pretty much nothing to do.
"Ja, being crushed under a roof is horrible," she agreed. "The Cruciatus Curse is one of the few things that I could say few worse."
It was a story that she rarely told anyone, but Communist wizards and witches were almost worse han regular Communists. Eliza had, at around seven-years-old, been subjected to the Cruciatus Curse when her brother went AWOL. Roddie still apologized for it sometimes.

Whoa there! Hold your horses Mr. Malfoy! Did she just say what he thought she said? It was like De-ja-vu! He had heard that advice once before from her older self. Whoa. That was pretty cool, and weird at the same time. She really didn't change that much apparently. And that would mean she was deserving of respect even back here, and even if she was quite reckless.
"It's really weird, because somebody that I used to know said just about the same thing before," Scorp said, explaining the weird look on his face, "I suppose I won't give up hope. Still wish she'd like me sooner than later, though."
"I hope the guy's ok," Scorp said, "Unless he turns out to be a Death Eater in disguise, then he deserves it." Yeah, Scorp was very anti-Death Eaters, mostly because all his life that he could remember he was around the rebels and was taught the lessons by the rebels, so he believed about the same as the rebels.

Huh...? He'd gotten the same advice before? Geez, she was losing her originality. She'd have to do something about fixing that; she didn't want to be unoriginal! That would be horrible! She'd end up like Madame Pomfrey. (She was seriously starting to despise the old witch that kept forcing her to spend so much time in an enclosed space.)
"Yeesh, now I feel like a copycat," she remarked jokingly. "If I ever meet this friend of yours, I'll have to apologize for stealing their advice."
She made a sour face and plucked out a cigarette, lighting it and taking a drag. She exhaled before she replied.
"I hate Death Eaters. There were several in high-ranking positions in East Germany; they made life hell for the rest of us," she added. "If he's a Death Eater, I hope he never recovers."

Scorp couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that she felt like a copy cat. Yeah, if she ever met herself from several years in the future, before she died, he'd probably die from watching the two of them interact. But he thought back to the older Eliza and realized, he actually did miss her. When she died he was upset sure, but he thought that he'd gotten over it, until just this moment. Sure the two were never that close, it was more like a Dumbledore-Harry relationship before Harry's 6th year. He looked up to her, and she offered advice and such, and well she did show him how reckless could be quite fun. But now he was here, and talking to her again, he realized how much he actually missed having the occasional talk, or story about her.
"Oh don't worry about it, you probably won't ever meet her," Scorp said nervously running his hand through his still wet hair. Yeah, because you already know her. She's you! But he would never say that, because that would freak her out.
"Ah, so you come from East Germany?" Scorp said, knowing full well that she was most definitely from East Germany, because well he knew. Just like he knew her fear of barriers and walls, even if she tried really hard to keep it a secret. "Death Eaters are just violent prejudice people who don't understand muggles or others that don't believe the same they do. I really hope that guy wasn't a Death Eater because he's probably still up in the Hospital Wing; we don't want him to get up and hurt all those in there right now." Yeah, he really was actually getting himself worried that the guy was indeed a Death Eater. Just the thought of one being in the Hospital Wing around the injured from the battle was worrisome.
