"Yeah, I know what you mean. I grew up during a war, though my parents didn't let me see battle all too often. There were a few times when I did, and it was terrible. I saw things myself that I can't really even talk about. If this war here goes on for too much longer, I have a feeling that Harry will be affected greatly," Scorp replied, thinking about how his father was the one who got Harry to come back after Harry lost his wife and friends.
Scorp ran his hand through his now semi-dry hair and gave her a smile. He really should never have another crush again. They always made him get close to someone who was just going to die. Eliza died on him, and while he didn't have a crush on her once he got older, he felt close to her. Then there was Rose, who he loved dearly, who hurt him so much by going out with another. What was going to happen next? His dear beauty from the Italian Quidditch Team was going to die or something?
"Well let's hope it's the first," Scorp replied with a small smile.

"Mein bruder-in-law is an Italian; they've been in a civil war for the past sixteen years. It wrecked him. Drawn-out wars are the worst ones," she decided. "More casualties, more time to break down the survivors."
Of course, Eliza's brother-in-law was also the father the aforementioned "beauty from the Italian Quidditch Team" that Scorpius seemed to have a crush on, and Gabe would have been extremely creeped out by that. In this time, little Lexi was only four-years-old. Eliza, on the other hand, would've had a good laugh about how her niece turned out if she knew.
She smiled back at him and nodded her agreement.
"I hope it means the first, too," she agreed. "I'm worried, though. There was an attack on the house where the Italians stay when they're on diplomatic visits, and the Ministry did nothing to help out. That's as good as outright breaking all ties and alliances. I worry that, if their hands are untied, the Italians will join the war that's breaking out here."

"Oh! Oh! Is your brother-in-law's name... Oh darn, what was his name..." Scorp said suddenly excited at the mention of the Italian Quidditch Beauty's father, "Oh, G-Ga-Gabe or something?" Oh yeah, Scorp thought that Lexi was quite hot, not as hot as Rose, but pretty hot. "Exactly. Hopefully we can all end this before it blows up into something more."
It had been a small dream of Scorp's to meet the woman who's poster he had over his bed and have her sign something for him. He was a very fanatical fanboy of hers. He just hoped that if he met her he wouldn't go all crazy over her and creep her out. Especially if he met the Lexi of this time, who was only a little kid. No on would want a 16 year old having a crush on their little 4 year old. Scorp had made it point to learn as much as he could about the Quidditch hottie, though most times he was going to do research on her he ended up staring a pictures of her (and yes, they were all fully clothed pictures thank you very much!).
"That's because the Ministry is full of a bunch of fools. I wouldn't doubt that they'll be the first thing to fall to the Death Eaters," Scorp replied with a nod.

"Ja, that's his name!" she confirmed with a little smile. "He used to play Quidditch himself, but he retired to focus on raising my niece und nephew und help with the war effort in Italy."
It was kind of sad because Gabe was a great Beater. Eliza secretly hoped that he'd go back to playing Quidditch when everything was said and done. She also hoped that Lexi became a great Seeker and Julius did something besides painting...hm. He seemed to like photography. Maybe she'd get him a camera... ((In the future, Julius is sort of Lexi's designated photographer and takes most of the pictures of her.))
"They probably will," she agreed. "Und I won't feel bad for them; they threatened to deport me last week! I am here legally, danke!"

Like father like daughter apparently! Though Lexi was a Seeker. "Yes! Score 1 for the Scorp!" Scorp said excitedly, only if he could have gotten Eliza to introduce them in the future... oh well! "It's too bad he doesn't play anymore, maybe you niece or nephew could eventually play."
Scorp really didn't want to sound like a weirdo creeper who was interested in the personal life of someone he 'just met', but it was hard to pretend he just met her when he had known her for a long time. And he had known of Lexi for a long time, and her twin Julius, he wasn't even sure that was his name, though it rang a bell. It was terrible how pretty Lexi was. She forced him to stare at her with her good looks instead of stalk her!
"I won't either. They're just a bunch of idiots. They aren't the ones who will really be fighting this war. It'll be the Order and the Death Eaters, and whoever else joins," Scorp said shaking his head. Government from his life had never very good.

"Oh, my nephew is a clutz...he'd hurt himself," she chuckled. "But my niece, Lexi, plays in a pee-wee Quidditch league; she's a Seeker. Pretty good at it, too. If I do say so myself."
Actually, most of the members of Lexi's team were pretty good. She hoped that they all stuck with it. Of course, in the future, Lexi's team was the Italian National, and that little Johan boy that played as Chaser was Lexi's fiancee. Eliza had no way of knowing that, even though she secretly suspected that Lexi and Johan would get married as adults. They were just too cute with their rivalry-slash-friendship.
"And then they'll try to take over after everything ends and act like they'd been fighting the Dark Lord all along," she speculated grumpily. "They're good at taking credit for things they didn't do."

"I bet she would be a great Seeker," Scorp exclaimed.
Scorp was quite sad when he found out that Lexi was engaged to that one Johan guy. He was so sad that he didn't leave his room for a whole day, and even then he was depressed for a whole week and wouldn't tell anyone why. Then Scorp came up with the hope that perhaps Johan and Lexi would break up and then she could marry him! Or at least something like like.
"Exactly. I, personally, wouldn't let them back in control if I had any say in it," Scorp agreed.

"She seems to do very well thus far," Eliza agreed. "We got her a little pink broomstick for her birthday."
Lexi had been so happy; Eliza had thought the kid's head was going to explode. Lexi could be so hyper sometimes that it scared everyone, but she was cute, so they left it be. At least until she broke windows because that just wasn't cool. They still weren't sure how she'd even managed to break that window...
"I wouldn't either, but they'll be back in power, trust me."

"How old is she... if you don't mind me asking," Scorp asked, already knowing, but he couldn't go all creep like and let on that he already knew a good amount of things about her.
Scorp couldn't even picture little Lexi because for all his life, from the moment he learned of her, she was a grown up, and it was just like picturing a teenaged Dumbledore. Even for Scorp who didn't know the man well, that was hard.
"Unfortunately, I think you're right," Scorp sighed.

"The twins are four, just turned a few months ago. Lexi somehow managed to break a window; we're still not sure how she managed to do it," she admitted. "Interesting kid, mein niece. Mein older sister would've been proud of her."
Eliza missed Brielle a lot, even when she didn't act like she did. She'd been very close to her deceased older sister and wished that Bri could see Lex and Julius. They were growing up into such great kids, and their mutti wasn't even around to see it. Their birthday had been a bittersweet occasion; it had been the twins' first birthday celebrated without Brielle.
"Corrupt men that have power never really lose it," she sighed tiredly.

"She really sounds very cute," Scorp said one of the largest smiles ever, "I'm sure she'll grow into a very nice lady."
It was really hard for Scorp to not talk about her like he didn't know of her. Even if he met Lexi as a kid, he would hardly be able to contain his excitement. He made a mental note to NOT meet little Lexi or he could come off as some really weird weirdo, if he already wasn't coming off as one.
"I suppose that's true," Scorp sighed, though thinking that in the future things were just starting to look good, and Harry Potter was taking control and already rebuilt a lot. It felt like so long ago that Voldemort's death happened. It was getting longer and longer from the time he arrived. What if they never returned?

"Lex and Juli are both very cute," she agreed. "And I'm sure she will...mein older sister, her mother, was."
Oh...Bri. She sometimes wondered what her sister would have thought of the job Eliza and Gabe were doing of raising her children. Eliza wasn't their mother, and she wouldn't dream of trying to replace Brielle. She knew that nobody could, especially for Gabe. Her brother-in-law probably wouldn't ever totally get over Brielle. Eliza just hoped that she was helpful, if only in a small way. Sophie was doing a better job of helping those three move forward than Eliza had been, admittedly.
"I just...hope I'm wrong," she admitted. "I hope that the Ministry doesn't fall; I hope that some semblance of a balance of power can be reestablished. I don't want to see England turn into East Germany or, worse, Italy."
