Lore whistled to herself as she waited for Tom to show up, looking around with a little smile. It had been a very, very long time since she'd last been in London. It seemed like she was always busy on the warfront at home, and when she wasn't, she was busier still trying to juggle her family and helping with reconstruction.
She'd honestly been shocked when Tom agreed to meet her in Hogsmede. Lore had always suspected that her son and her husband didn't agree on their...erm...politics as much as they appeared to on the surface. She had an observant eye for these things. She knew her family, better than they sometimes gave her credit for.
Her family...
She couldn't help but sigh at the thought, pulling out her wallet to leaf through the pictures. Ally. Al. Her mama. She hadn't seen them in so many years by that point. They constantly ran in different circles. Her older brother and sister rarely dropped by. She missed them, she had to admit.

Tom had been busy spying on his younger father's self, trying to find the right point when he really changed in his ways. At this point Tristan seemed to not care too much on a side, and only care about two people, his mom and this other guy Tom didn't know much about. His mother had asked him to meet her at Hogsmeade, and he most definitely agreed. He preferred his mother over his father anyways.
Tom hurried from Hogwarts, a book in his hand that he was hoping to finish at some point soon, and at any chance he got he'd read it. The kind of books he liked to read were the kind of books that were nearly extinct in their time, the books by muggles. His dad got pretty mad when he found him reading one of them before. It was an incident that Tom did his best to hide from his mother. He loved his parents, and knew that they loved each other. Tom didn't want to do anything that would separate them ever. He wanted his mum to be happy.
He hurried down to where he spotted his mother and smiled. "Hey, Mum," Tom said, having adopted more of the British accent from his father, though one could definitely tell he had a bit of an Italian accent mixed in. "Is something up?" Tom noticed her looking at her pictures of her family. He knew that his mother hadn't really seen many of those in her family for a long time.

Lore had noticed hers and Tristan's younger selves around a few times. It was kind of funny, to see them the way other people must have back when they were still just friends. She wished that the other people could've seen the side of her husband that she did. He wasn't such a bad person, really...Tristan tried so hard, especially back then.
She looked up when she heard Tom call her name and smiled. She discreetly tucked away her wallet as she waved to her son. He didn't know his aunt and uncle very well, so he didn't feel their absence as keenly as she did. With everything else that was going on in her son's life, she didn't need him worrying about her homesickness.
"Ciao Tom! There's nothing really up; I just wanted to spend some time with my son. Is that okay?" she asked with a laugh.

Tom smiled with her response and quickly hugged her, even though he really felt he was too old to give his mother a hug. What did it matter anyways? He liked spending time with her. Tom liked his mum quite a bit, and even though his father was a bit cruel at times with his teaching methods, deep down, somewhere really deep down in him, Tom subconsciously knew that his father wasn't that bad of a person. Tristan seemed like a fairly nice guy in this time, it was a matter of how things went down hill for him. Tom didn't agree with his father on many things, which lead to clashes sometimes, to the point Tom avoided his father sometimes, and avoided any topic about their politics. It wasn't that bad anyways. The two got along fairly well with Tom's careful topic coverage.
"'Course it is. I just thought something might be wrong, with all that's going on and such. You and Dad are a lot different, now," Tom said, phrasing it so that any passerby wouldn't think anything of it, "Maybe, since we're here, I could meet some more of your side of the family!" Tom suggested as much, mostly because he knew that they had died in their time, and his mother probably would like to see them again. But what excuse would they make. Tom didn't know if it would make his Mamma upset, or not. Then again, Tom's biggest flaw was knowing what to say to women, and women included not only 'Etta, but everyone of the female gender, including his mother.

She laughed a little when Tom hugged her. What was it with her children and thinking that they were too old to hug their mother...? She'd never felt like she was too old to hug her mama. Granted, Tom's grandmother had died when Lore was nine, so that was probably a factor in her willingness to hug Vittoria. She was glad that Tom wasn't embarrassed to be seen with his parents like most kids his age were.
"Ah, si...different," she agreed with another short laugh. "I guess that's one way to say it. What'd you think of the two-tone hair?"
She blinked slowly and thought it over when he suggested that he could meet more of her side of the family. Ally ran a shop in Diagon Alley; Al, Gabe, Jay, Lina ((Pyre)) and several others would all be assigned guardians at Hogwarts this year; Lore's grandfather, Gio, was one of the DADA teachers, and her father would soon be joining the staff as a secondary Potions Master. Yes, he probably would meet more of her family.
"Si, you probably will," she noted. "Gio's at the school right now."
