"Of course it was," Fred snickered, "But really, I really do mean it."
Fred was the master of all those corny things, and puns. Puns he was great with. Hasn't everyone heard his ear puns and how great they were? And boom, corny things were amazing as well. Usually they were true, but, that didn't matter! It was awesome, and he was the master of all things corny and punny!

"Yeah, as long as you keep thinking like that when I'm in my forties and beginning to get old, we'll be fine," she scoffed jokingly, rolling her eyes with a little smile.
Sometimes Fred's corny jokes and puns were funny, sometimes they weren't. It was pretty much a hit-or-miss thing...not that anyone had ever told him that. They were all fairly certain that he didn't want to know. And since he didn't want to know, nobody bothered to tell himl. It had worked thus far.

"We'll always be fine as long as I'm alive," Fred commented with a laugh, "Because, really, I do really like you, and nothing will change that."
Fred didn't want to know if people thought his jokes were funny or not, just the fact that he thought they were funny was good enough for him. Plus, people seemed to laugh. Either way, without George sometimes things were hit-or-miss, but he didn't care. With George they were unstoppably funny.

Her smiled waned a little, and she sighed. Maybe it was a side-effect of starting to get a little older or just the cynical view on life that she hadn't ever managed to totally shake, but she hated it when people said that they wouldn't change their minds. It made it harder for Lisa to let go when they ultimately did.
"I really wish I could believe that," she admitted. "But...it'll take some time. Everyone else has changed their minds about me."

"That's because they're not me," Fred replied still smiling widely, "I'm not like all those other people, your parents, or your past boyfriends. I'm am 100 percent sure that even if this romantic relationship doesn't work out, you will forever be my friend, no matter what happens. As long as you don't join You-Know-Who or something."
He had already decided that when it was confirmed to be an actual date and the two became boyfriend and girlfriend that in his mind she would always be his friend even if they broke up. He was one of those people who was pretty amicable with his past girlfriends and he was sure that she would stay his friend if something weird were to happen and the two of them broke up or something.

"Um, Fred. Me joining You-Know-Who? Yeah, never going to happen; I'm a muggle-born," she pointed out mildly. "There was never even a possibility...and you'd better mean that, because I'm holding you to it."
She didn't like it when people broke promises. It wasn't just because she was used to it at that point; she probably would've gotten annoyed over it if she'd had the best life possible. She felt like, when you made a promise, that promise was sacred, and you should keep it if there was any way you possibly could. Breaking them bothered her because it was like breaking the trust between you and the person you'd made the promise to.

"Well, duh. It just shows how I will always be your friend! I don't break promises, ever," Fred exclaimed with a small punch in the air.
He was one who never broke promises, and really had never broken a promise. Unless you count the one time when he was a little boy and he promised to stay out of trouble. That did not happen. And he promised his mother he wouldn't blow up a toilet in his 3rd year, and he didn't! He and George blew one up the next year!

"Except for, you know, promises that involve pranks," she teased. "Like when you promised me that you wouldn't stick Jaden to the ceiling."
Lisa and Jaden had fought frequently throughout their time at Hogwarts, and the much more sensitive Lisa would usually wind up crying. Fred had, after one of these fights they'd had, wanted to pull a prank on Jaden but promised Lisa that he wouldn't. In the end, though, he had. She'd wanted to be angry with him, but she really hadn't been able to. He'd done it because he was her friend and didn't like seeing her cry, after all.

"Well, that's different. It was because he was a jerk," Fred said smugly trying to look innocent, "Plus that was funny!"
Fred really never liked her relationship with that Jaden guy. They fought all the time and Jaden was just a git who didn't value her like he did, even back then. He hated seeing her sad, and so he pranked the one who made her sad. He thought it was a pretty good idea back then.

"Until he accused me of sending you and George after him," she grumbled with a wry smile. "Wasn't that funny then."
He'd really always been a great friend to her, even when he was a kid that followed her around the school asking a million questions...he'd constantly gotten lost in his first year. It had been kind of funny for the first few months, until he somehow wandered down to the Hufflepuff area of the school and got someone to let him into their common room. Then all of her House-mates had teased her about it.

"That was just because he didn't realize we prank all gits who make our friends sad," Fred responded.
Ah, his first year with a bunch of wandering around and getting lost until they found the Marauder's Map at the beginning of the year and learned how to activate it later in the year. Suddenly he knew where to go exactly never getting lost. It was very useless, especially for avoiding Filch, until he and George gave it to Harry. They didn't need it really that much anymore anyways.

"No, it was because you threw his school bag out a window and stuck him to the ceiling," she replied with a laugh.
She sometimes missed when Fred and George were so cute and shorter than her. Now she had to look up to even look Fred in the eye (granted, Lisa was short and only stood at five feet three inches). She was proud of him, though; he'd come so far since she'd first met him years ago. She was glad that the twins had managed to open their joke store; they seemed so happy.

"Well that might have been a small, teensy weensy part of it," Fred laughed giving up all hope of looking innocent.
Fred was looking forward to his future with Lisa right now. He did miss the good old times when he didn't have to worry about Voldemort deciding to kill them or something. But, then again, Fred didn't dwell on the past or wish that the past didn't go by as fast. He felt that he didn't waste much time, and enjoyed when he was little enough to last anyone several lifetimes, just not him. He liked having fun.
