Eliza hadn't seen Mikael yet during the Yule Ball, probably because she was perpetually early. As people began to trickle in, though, and he still hadn't shown up, though, she gave up with a resigned sigh. Mikael had warned her that he wasn't much for dancing (she suspected that he couldn't), but she'd gotten dressed up and come to the Ball anyway. Ah, well. Maybe she would force ask Yuki or Ana to dance with her. She could also sneak out and smoke. Oh, the options. In the end, she decided to get herself some punch and retreat to the tables. She sat there and watched other couples getting up to dance and contemplated just going back to the Gryffindor Tower, hanging up her dress and spending the night by the fire. Either way, it seemed that she would be alone. Was it really any different if she was alone at the Ball or alone in her Tower? The Tower was probably more comfortable, she decided. "Well, look at you; dolled up and lovely but no date in sight." She looked up and raised an eyebrow at Aspen, who smiled in that half-cocky half-self deprecating way of his. "May I have this dance?" he asked. ( Eliza's Dress)

Mikael was running really late. He'd been trying to tame his hair which decided it wanted to stand up. After about ten minutes of trying to get it to work, he left it and ran. He was so late. He got to the entrance and looked around. No sight of his girlfriend. Into the ball. He looked around not seeing her at first then caught her by the punch bowl . . . with another guy. He walked up to her and placed an arm around her shoulder.
"I'm sorry sir, she does have a date. And she's dancing with me if you don't mind." he smiled trying to be kind about the fact that this guy was trying to dance with his Eliza.

Eliza was preparing to, probably very rudely, tell Aspen that she had a date, thank you, and she would only be dancing with him. She was beaten to the punch by an arm around her shoulders and the sudden appearance of a wild-haired Irish boy. She smiled instinctively; she had actually been worried that Mikael would show up, but she wasn't sure why. He usually came through when he made a promise.
"You're Mikael, I'm assuming," Aspen remarked, tapping his watch. "It doesn't do to keep a lady waiting, my friend."
He nodded to Eliza and Mikael then vanished back into the crowd. Eliza found herself wondering whether Aspen was entirely sane.
"Ignore him; Aspen's the only person more punctual than I am," she informed Mikael. "I'm glad you're here."

"Sorry, I was trying to tame my hair for you. Apperently, my hair seems to think you like it this way." Mikael smiled. He didn't mean to be late at all. He was late to just about anything though. He held out his arm for her so he could walk her around. Well, atleast to a table.
"Shall we dance?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

She smiled and kissed his forehead, messing with his hair a little. She couldn't deny that she did like his hair the way that it was; it was cute, and she couldn't imagine it any other way. She was fairly certain that he would look distinctly un-Mikael-like if it was any other way.
"Your hair knows its stuff," she teased.
She wrapped both of her arms around the offered one with a little smile.
"Can you dance?" she returned.

"Well, I can't dance well... But it's a start right?" He chuckled. He wasn't a very good dancer, but he did like to cause a good laugh. He led her around the room as they talked to some people. It wasn't like he didn't want to see everyone he knew and what they'd decided was a good outfit. Mikael had gone with a black tailcoat for his dress robes, simple but effective.
"Has its own mind, picture it if it decided it wanted to lay flat.." He chuckled

"I'll help you," she promised. "I'm a good dancer, at least Aspen and my brother say so."
Eliza smiled and chatted with her friends as they made their rounds. A few commented on her dress; Ana teased her ("A red dress. How very Gryffindork of you, Lizzi."), nothing that was really out of the ordinary. She liked being able to pretend that the world wasn't falling apart around them, at least for a little while. She was sure that she would have to go right back to preparing for the impending war at first light, but, for the time being, Elizabeta Anne Beilschmidt was just a teenager with her boyfriend.
"I don't want to imagine that," she admitted with a laugh, wrinkling her nose up. "I think it would look funny."

"Well, lets hope I don't break your toes. I promise not to keep looking at your feet." Mikael chuckled.
He spun her around to start dancing once they reached the dance floor. Of course teachers were keeping watch like distracted birds, but the new DADA teachers were like hawks. You did anything they though was wrong and you were punished. Scary couple those two.
"I think you're the only one who's said that to me. You're the only one who's opinion matters anyway.." He smiled serenely.
((Sorry it's not much...))
