Lisa had, at Fred and Molly's insistance, gone to Saint Mungo's for a check up. She really didn't think anything was wrong, but she had to admit that she'd been uncharacteristically moody lately, and she was getting a lot of migraines, which weren't normal. She didn't usually even get normal headaches! She thought that it was just a bug going around or something, but she wanted Fred and Molly to stop fussing, so she'd gone along with their requests and set up an apointment.
It was when she got there that things got weird.
The doctors did some tests and finally came to the last conclusion she'd been expecting: she was pregnant. She'd been happier about it than she thought she'd be at first, but then that had been dampened when she realized that she'd have to tell Fred.
She hoped that he didn't take it badly.
She was still trying to think of how to tell him as she walked through the front door of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Deciding that if she didn't tell him soon she'd lose her nerve, she looked around for Fred.

Fred had finally convinced Lisa to go to St. Mungo's. He was a little worried about her because of her moodiness and all those migraines she was having. He really just thought it was some sort of bug, but even still, if it was anything worse, it was better to be safe than sorry. Fred really thought that he was really falling for her, like, really hard.
Fred was in the back taking inventory, waiting for Lisa to come back. He didn't mind work like this, and it was necessary, so he sucked it up and did it anyways. As he did it, he also made sure to dust off things that needed it. Sure he was doing things that Lisa was supposed to do, but he was the one, along with his mother, who convinced her to go.
Fred stretched, looking at a job well down, and slowly made it to the front of the store. He saw Lisa nearby, and he decided he would sneak up on her. He slowly crept up, hiding behind boxes in case she looked his way, before he ran up behind her and placed his hands over her eyes with a wide smile.
"Guess who!" Fred said with a small laugh.

She smiled a little when Fred covered her eyes. She should've expected as much from him. She hoped that he hadn't been doing her job, though; she would wind up feeling bad about going to St. Mungo's that day, even though it had been the only day they'd had an opening. They were busy often those days.
"Hey, Fred...do you want to know the results of my check up or are you going to stand there all day?" she teased.
She was a lot more nervous about telling him than she let on. She just didn't want him to freak out and leave her. She was falling for him harder than she'd intended to.

Fred snickered and moved his hands away from her eyes. He planted a kiss on her cheek from behind her and couldn't help but keep smiling. He had a feeling that he was actually really if not in, almost falling in that big L word. Fred hurried in front of her, still grinning.
"How did you know it was me?" Fred asked in mock surprise, "Was there anything wrong?"
Fred registered that she was sort of nervous for some reason. It was all in her body language. It was his job to make her not so nervous and he hoped he was doing a good job.

She smiled and blushed lightly when he kissed her cheek. Though not usually shy, she had a tendency to get kind of shy when in a situation that involved public displays of affection. Fred, however, was not as shy as Lisa was about things like that, as she'd discovered since they got together.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe your voice," she scoffed jokingly. "And there wasn't anything...really...wrong per say, but...um.."
She hadn't even worked out how she was going to tell him...was it better to just bluntly say it outright?

Fred loved seeing her get all shy when he would give her a kiss on the cheek or something. Heck... he loved everything about her, even though she was insecure about many things. He still really liked her a lot. He was sure that there was nothing that would change about how he felt about her. Even if she had news about some terminal disease that she had and that she would die in a year from now. He would still love her. Wait... love?
"Oh, I knew it! My voice is just that pretty," Fred joked, before clearing his throat and getting slightly serious, "What is it, Lisa?"
Something that wasn't wrong, but she was nervous about? Now he was getting a little nervous and worried with her.

She decided that she'd just say it outright and get the news over with. Even if he decided to dump her, he deserved to know about the baby. She wouldn't dream of keeping this news from him; she'd come to love him far too much for that...wait, love? She would store that later; one big revelation at a time, please.
"I'm pregnant," she admitted softly, staring down at her feet and hoping that he wouldn't get angry at her or something.

Fred's grin slowly disappeared when she had said those two little words. He heard her right, he was sure of it. He just wasn't expecting it. It wasn't disappointment or fright, but shock really.
"I-I'm going to be a father?" Fred asked, his grin slowly returning, "I'm going to be a father!" Boy was he quite happy about it. He would teach their little boy or girl how to prank and have fun and he would be so happy to have a child.
Boy would he get a talking to from his mother about not being married and having a kid.

She forced herself to look up at his face and watched him warily. She was pleasantly surpised when he grinned and smiled back at him shyly. Fred seemed...very happy about being a father. She was sure that he'd be a great one.
"O-oui...we're going to be parents," she agreed softly.
She'd never really thought herself mother material, and she knew she was going to get an earful from Molly later, but she didn't really care at the moment. She was just happy that she was going to get a chance to be a better parent than hers were.

Fred was absolutely happy. Probably the happiest person in this war right now. He hadn't really thought about being a father before this, but when he thought about it, it made him really happy. Fred was almost in a daze and he couldn't even think straight, well almost.
"Our child... Our child will be... I love you, Lisa," Fred said giving her a quick kiss.
Saying those words really made it feel real. He was going to have a child. That child was growing inside of his girlfriend. And he loved his girlfriend very much. At this point they hadn't been dating for that long, but he was sure of it.

It wasn't exactly the best time to bring a child into the world; she knew that, but...she was still happy. She was happy because he was, and she was happy because having a baby. She liked kids...she just never thought that she'd be a mother. It hadn't ever crossed her mind.
"Je t'aime aussi, Fred," she replied with a smile. "That means I love you too in French, by the way."
They hadn't really been dating all that long, but they'd known each other for nine years. She didn't feel like they had rushed into saying that they loved each other; she really did love him, very, very much.

Fred wasn't too worried about the environment the child they were going to have. His mum and dad had kids in the middle of the war, and they all turned out fine, right? Well besides Percy that is.
"Well, that's always good to know," Fred said with a smile, "So, what will we name our child. If it's a boy, I'm leaning towards Elvendork."
Fred was just so excited to be a father. Their kid and Remus and Tonks' kid would be play mates! It would just be so perfect. Sure, there was a war going on, but Fred was more worried about him being a father and how good of a job he would do.

Elvendork...? What was with the British and giving their children odd names? She wasn't even sure that was a name...and if it was, who the hell had ever named their kid Elvendork? That was just...no. No. Not happening. Ever.
"Um...what about something like Mathias for a boy?" she suggested.
She thought it was kind of cute that he was so excited about being a father. She was sure that he'd do a fantasic job, regardless of the war going on. There was no way a guy who was that excited about having kids could turn out like her own father.

Fred couldn't help but laugh. Of course he was kidding about Elvendork. Who in their right mind would name their child that? No, no, no, he was more inclined towards names that wouldn't cause their kid to be laughed at at school.
"Ah darn," Fred said with an over-exaggerated sigh, "Mathias is a great name... as well."
He felt that Lisa would be a great mom. He could see them now years in the future, together with maybe even a couple of kids, and the two of them playing and running around with them. He would of course be more inclined to teach their kid a the basics to pranking. Maybe he could write a book about it!

She was glad that he'd liked Mathias and had been joking about Elvendork. That was just...ew. Horrible. Worst name she'd ever heard, and that was saying a lot. She couldn't seem to think of a girl's name, though...
"For a girl...I don't know," she admitted. "Ideas?"
She hoped that she and Fred stayed together. She didn't want their child to grow up in a broken home, and...well...she liked to imagine them still together in eleven years and watching their kid head off to Hogwarts.
