Stressful relaxation in the Sahara! [open]

Remus looked towards her, with his hope fading, that she would accept it. Remus sighed and made sure he kept up with her, though his face looked almost like someone just tore his heart right out, though just for a second, before he put on an emotionless face. "I see. And this letter angered you so much, I guess. Maybe it wasn't meant like that...?" Of course he didn't mean it like that.

"You don't have to worry about me, I'm used to it, I'll be fine," Remus replied stubbornly, not willing to budge on it. He was very self-conscious when it came to his body and what was showing or wasn't. He hated how he looked especially when the scars were visible.

"It didn't anger me as much as what I thought it would. . ."Tonks kept walking, she had to lie right? She kicked the sand and it went up in a cloud near her face. She spit some out that got in her mouth and thought out loud, "That ending was really sweet though. . . Why do I keep lying to myself?"

Tonks dicided to give up, "Fine, be stubborn. Don't listen to someone who's been staying out here for almost two weeks."

"Really?" Remus said suddenly almost hopeful but then checked himself, "T-the ending?" Why did he really have to end it like that? Remus looked towards her still trying to read her, "Maybe you lie to yourself, because it's too painful to know the truth?" Remus tried pretending he was just telling Harry or someone how to handle what he did, but Harry was much younger than her.

"I will be fine. Besides I am used to wearing things like this," Remus replied still stubbornly, "It's not like it's going to stay day and this hot forever." It wouldn't, and he would deal with it until it wasn't as hot.

[Nymphadora "Tonks" Lupin]

"Yes," Tonks said sighing, "the ending is what finally told me to shut up, get over y-myself, and quit lying.." she kept walking, she grabbed her wand from her back pocket. No matter what anyone said she always kept it there. "The problem is... I love the writer too much despite his efforts to push me away.."

"Even if your used to it, it's too hot out here for anyone to wear heavy clothing! Plus, robes like mine drag in the sand.." she cocked her jaw, "You'd be surprised how hot it is durring the night.."

"I see..." Remus said, reconsidering his reprimand of himself for writing the ending part. Maybe it wasn't as bad as he thought it was. He kept trying to say it over and over again in the letter, but he kept stopping himself. That letter was hard to write and when he wrote the last part, well he just hurried up and sealed it before he would cross it out again.

"Fine, fine, fine. If I get too hot in this, I'll change, happy?" Remus said grudgingly.

Tonks stopped, the light was just over the sand dune and it'd be her luck that there would be something near it. Maybe a hole in the sand, a pit of snakes, a nest of scorpions, maybe even a staircase that lead down to an old burial ground. Please don't let it be scorpions. . . or snakes. . . she thought scrunching up her eyebrows together.

"Then go put yourself up a little tent get changed and get back. . . before I get stung to death by scorpions or bit by a snake." Tonks crossed her arms and turned her back on him, making sure not to drop her head just then.

Remus sighed and made him a tent, changing into a pair of long shorts, and a T-shirt. Such a weird attire for him. He hadn't worn anything such as this before, except for once when Sirius and James practically forced him into shorts and a T-shirt. Ah the memories, such good and yet painful memories, making him remember he was alone, and if he were to get close to anyone, they would meet the same end, most likely.

"There," Remus announced standing in front of her, "Happy now?" He felt so uncomfortable in the outfit, so self-conscious of the scars showing. He couldn't understand how she could love a person who was like him, so ugly with all these scars, and with such a cursed personality.

Tonks had been tapping her wand on her elbow while she was waiting for Lupin to come back outside. She'd seen one scorpion and had killed it with her sneaker. Nothing else came in the short time, but the sand had gotten in her eyes a few times and she'd rubbed them repeatedly.

When he came out Tonks had to hold back a chuckle, "Much." she started walking again laughing as she went. It's so cute, I can't help but laugh. she thought putting a hand to her chin.

Remus went slightly red as she laughed at how he was dressed. He much preferred dying of heat exhaustion then feeling this embarrassed, especially in front of Tonks, since well... he did love her. Why did she have to laugh at him, he felt so silly in this, though cooler, not like cool like all the young kids thought of, but less in the heat index he was taking in.

"Why are you laughing?" Remus asked trying to make his face stop the slight pinkish tinge on his cheeks, wishing at least for that moment that he was a Metamorphagus so he could keep the pink away from his cheeks,"Is it too much?"

Tonks couldn't hold it back any longer, she had to hold her stomach. She was gasping for breath and sat down in the sand so she could lean back with out falling from a higher altitude.

"It's. Just. I. Can't. Help. It!" she laughed, "It's so cute and so funny! I'm sorry but learn to laugh for once, that's the funniest thing I've seen in two weeks!" She'd fallen over backwards and was still laughing harder than ever, "It's not silly, it's cute!"

Remus let a slight smile out, but he forced it back. Tonks was just so full of life, and funny, and well... just amazing. He wished things didn't have to be so complicated between them, but he knew it had to be, as a protection for her. But in times like this it seemed so simple, she was laughing at how ridiculous he must look, and well he was on the verge of joining her in her laughter, though not as hard as she was of course, it wasn't really in his nature, at least not anymore, he thought.... though his Marauding self did seem to come out a lot of the time.

"Cute? Funny? I dunno, I guess it could be?" Remus replied, keeping his slight smile from showing, but it was in vain, since a small hint of amusement had slipped out.

Tonks' voice still had the twinge of laughter to it when she tried to speak again but that did't happen. She laughed again, and again. Anyone would say it was comedy gold but Tonks couldn't say that out loud.

"Don't hold back a laugh, you know you want to laugh at yourself." the laughter tainting her voice, "I laugh at myself normally but this is harder than I've laughed at anything before, its so cute its ridiculious!"

Remus simply looked at her for a second, laughing, and he felt it was becoming contagious. He felt slightly embarrassed, but he laughed slightly, thinking of how ridiculous he looked. Then it grew slightly, and slightly more. It was by far the most he laughed since... well Hogwarts.

"I," Remus began laughing at himself in the process, "suppose, that, I do, look quite, ridiculous.... This, is, the most, I've, laughed, in a long, time!" Just being around Tonks made him feel younger, and more lively, more willing to do things like laugh at himself."

Tonks stood back up still laughing and started to cough from it. She'd kicked up some sand and it'd gone all over her face and had gotten in her throat. She coughed, then laughed at herself for doing that.

"We better get going, gotta find out what's going on with all of this." she pointed her wand at the light and started to place her footing lightly on the sand.

"You ok?" Remus asked as she coughed due to her sand, after clearing his throat of course from before. Really Remus was a good guy, and cared about those around him, but sometimes he could be such a hard person to get along with since he tended to push them away and be quite stubborn.

"Yes, yes, we should continue forth," Remus stated still feeling weird in his new clothes. Why did Tonks have to be so persistent to make him finally just give into wearing things like this? Remus decided that he would think some things over once he had time. Perhaps give a relationship another thought or two, though he doubted his feelings would change towards it, at least then he could reinforce his standings.
