She was, apparently, not allowed to fall behind on her training, even when she was in a different school in a different country. She'd call it a drag, but at least she could pretend that the dummies were her asshole House mates. She really wished she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw. She didn't like the Slytherins that she'd met thus far. Some were spineless, which made her want to yell at them; others were Death Eater-supporters, which made her want to punch them in the face. So either way, she found herself irritated.
She took a deep breath and spun, cleanly slashing one of the straw-stuffed dummies in half. Tch. People didn't cut that easily. She was beginning to miss her old training grounds.
She pursed her lips and plucked a piece of straw out of her ponytail as the dust settled and she observed her work. She wasn't exactly pleased with it; she'd done much better, but it wasn't bad really. At the very least it was passable.
She flicked her eyes over to one of the stones. Somebody had been standing behind it and watching her the whole time she was out there. It bugged her.
"What are you doing back there, exactly?" she demanded.

Tristan was having a normal day. He finished all of his homework. He had finished everything he needed to do. All there was to do now was relax. He preferred to be outside, and so that's where he was going. Jason was busy doing something else, so the two of them couldn't hang out or something.
Once he had walked across the bridge to the Stone Circle, he was surprised at the scene that laid before him. A witch was bearing a sword, and was practicing. Curiously, Tristan stopped in his tracks and observed as she practiced. He almost didn't even realize he was watching her until she demanded to know what he was doing.
Tristan snapped back into reality and smiled at the girl. She was, truthfully, quite pretty. And she seemed to be quite good with a sword as well. This girl seemed his type of girl. Plus, he had seen her around the Slytherin table and Common Room once or twice, which meant she was a Slytherin.
"I was watching a very pretty young lady practicing with a sword," Tristan said with a smile and a small chuckle to himself.

She rose an eyebrow and dropped her sword into the parade rest, hands on the pommel to keep it balanced. She'd seen him around every now and then; she wasn't exactly sure where he stood on the current situation, but he was one of her Housemates, so she didn't trust him. As long as he didn't give her a reason to gut him like one of the dummies that currently rested on the ground in a circle around her slashed open, though, she guessed that they'd be able to get along alright.
"Oh, really? That's alright, then. I'm Lorelai Cavaliere, by the way. My friends call me Talon," she introduced herself. "I'm kind of new here."

Tristan couldn't help but keep on grinning when she introduced herself. She was new! That's why he hadn't really truly met her yet, well until now. The thing he noticed the most about her, wasn't her odd hair color, but her blue eyes. They were a very pretty blue color, and well, he did think she was quite pretty. He just hoped he wouldn't turn out like the dummy if he said something wrong or something.
"I'm Tristan Clark," Tristan said with a small head bow, just because that's how he rolled when introducing himself, and he was weird like that, "It's a pleasure to meet you Talon. If you're new here, I can always help show you the ropes, and perhaps you could teach me how to wield a sword like that." He thought it was impressive work anyways.

Eh...? A Brit was actually looking her in the eye? Ohh, he'd noticed. Odd. People usually didn't like looking her in the eye; they usually complained about the color and how it made them feel like they were being "watched." Either that, or they complained that she was trying to glare a hole through them. Neither of these was true; she usually didn't really care much about the people that she met. They gave themselves too much credit.
"Eh? Swordsplay? I've been handling swords since I was three; I don't think I'd be a very good teacher," she admitted with a laugh. "But I'll try if you show me around the school. I keep getting lost."

Oh? She had been handling swords since she was little? That was something quite interesting to him. Maybe she was one of those Curia people that had been showing up at Hogwarts. There were a lot of rumors regarding them, and how they fought with swords of all things. But, he was able to find that most of the rumors were completely false. Like how the Curia had slaves who fought for them, and how the Curia were cowards. But all of this was rumors, rumors he didn't believe at all.
"I'm sure you'd be good enough, I'm a fast learner anyways, just basics," Tristan laughed with a huge smile, "That's probably because of the moving staircases and the walls that like to pretend to be doors. I even came across a door that was pretending to be a wall. It's always hard getting around the first time one's here."

Al diavolo tutto ... ((damn it all)), she wasn't supposed to say anything that indicated that she worked for the Curia. Shayne would be annoyed with her later, for sure. This was going to be fun to explain...erm. Not really. Sarcasm didn't cover how much explaining this would suck. She hoped he didn't question it further.
"Si, I think I could teach those," she agreed. "My cousin Pyre goes to this school, too; I'll borrow her sword. And I miss the non-moving staircases at my old school. I wound up four floors above where I was supposed to be for class once."

This should be fun. He was going to help a beautiful young lady, who he guessed was about his age, around the school, and she'd teach him how to wield a sword. Plus, Tristan didn't care about the Curia, Death Eaters, nor the Order at this moment. Sure he was part of the DA, but that didn't mean he was on their side of the war right now. He wasn't sure if he would even take a side.
"Sounds like a deal then!" Tristan said smirking, still thinking her eyes were quite beautiful, "I once ended up going into the girl's lavatory thinking it was Transfiguration class, turns out I was a couple floors away from the classroom." He laughed even at himself, thinking of how ridiculous it sounded, "That was back in my first year, though."

She laughed softly at his statement. She'd gotten similarly lost in her old school and wound up in the wrong dormitory in her first year. In her defense, school ran from age six to age fifteen back in Italy. It's easy for a six-year-old to get lost in such a large school.
"I didn't even realize that you still went to school until you were seventeen in England," she admitted. "Pyre and I had both already graduated from school back home. Hogwarts is a confusing place."

Whoa, that was weird. They were already graduated? That was really weird, at least to Tristan. He grew up thinking that seventeen was the adult and graduation year everywhere, but no, apparently, where ever she was from (he suspected Italy, but he hadn't confirmed that she was part of that Curia thing) it was younger than that. He found that interesting.
"Well new things are usually confusing, if they are that complicated. I bet if I went to where you came from, I would be just as confused as you are," Tristan commented.

"Probably," she agreed. "Especially if you went to Venice. Some of the gondoliers are scary! Don't ever accept a ride from a gondolier in a motor boat."
It was a mistake everyone made at least once in their lives back in Italy, and she fully intended to never repeat it. The only thing worse than accepting a ride from a gondolier in a motor boat was trying to catch a taxi in Rome. You weren't going to. Accept it and try to walk to wherever you were going; you'd get there, sooner.

"I will keep that in mind if I ever go to Venice!" Tristan replied with a laugh.
He actually was liking this girl quite a bit. Sure they just met, but she seemed pretty nice, and cute and stuff. And she was quite fun to talk to right now. Maybe instead of just using her to get ahead in life, he would be actually... friends with her. Gasp.

"And in the event that you ever go to Rome, no, you won't catch a taxi. Those tourist manuals lie," she added. "It's faster to walk."
It was honestly faster to walk most everywhere in Italy, save Sardinia, Talon's homeland. Oh, she missed Sardinia...but this guy was nice, she had to admit. Maybe they could be friends...? She didn't have many outside of her family and Shayne...

"Is it faster to walk everywhere in Rome?" Tristan asked with a small laugh.
Maybe he'd introduce her to Jason, his only real friend. Maybe the three of them could be like the Golden Trio, just not as golden, and neutral on the side of war, at least for now. Really right now, if one side screws him, he might just join the other side, or just stay neutral. He didn't care which one won, as long as they didn't mess with him or his friends.

"It's faster to walk most everywhere in Italy, or Apparate. There's a lot of traffic; muggles like their cars. I can't really blame them," she added thoughtfully. "I like driving. Never was one for Quidditch, much; heights freak me out."
She'd fallen from the second floor of her home during the attack that had stolen her cousin Jared's voice and hated heights ever since. She always thought that she was going to fall. She wasn't a fan of needles, either. When she'd gotten the two tattoos required by her family (they had originally branded the Banner of Rome and the Cavaliere Rose on the skin, but tattoos had made that unnecessary when Talon was little), she kicked the man holding the needle so hard that it had broken his wrist.
