"One Firewhiskey," Remus said to the bartender, Tom. At the moment he was at the Leaky Cauldron, wondering what he would do once more. Remus looked around worried that someone would recognize him as the 'Werewolf Professor' three years ago. He still was pestered by that Rita Skeeter person every once and awhile, to give a word on how badly he had failed at assimilating in the normal populace. Every time Remus was closes to giving her a huge punch in the face. That just so the thing he really needed at the time, a reminder of what a failure he was.
Other than that he was quite cheerful. Perhaps one might even say he was in a good mood, for the first time in a very long time. Why? He wasn't sure yet, but he knew that it could have to do with the events in the South Arctic continent, in the tent with Tonks. But of course he would never let it be. Their relationship would remain anything but romantic, and Remus was determined with that, because he was sure that she deserved so much better than him.
Anyways, he finally got his drink and sat at a table near the corner of the pub, not wanting to be recognized and have his useless life shoved back in his face. He almost reminded himself of a character in a book he once read, by a muggle no doubt. Right now he was the Sydney Carton from a novel he forgot the name of by Charles Dickens. A very interesting book. He loved reading, in fact he brought a book to read while he sat in the pub. As he drank some of his Firewhiskey, he read, finishing his first Firewhiskey and then ordered one more.
((Not expecting this long of a reply, just bursting of muse))

Sophie wandered into the Leaky Cauldron, she and her brother had been staying at the pub for the time they were there. She looked beat by all the food she had to carry and the small supply of clothes in the bags. Looking around, she noticed a man she'd only seen in pictures. Could she be so lucky? If she were a dog at the moment she would be barking happily and wagging her tail, but she was a human witch and had to keep those thoughts at the front of her mind at the moment.
Setting the bags down next to the bar, Sophie smiled at Tom and ordered a water. Even if she was twenty one, she never got into butter beer or firewhiskey. She sipped her water and then looked at Lupin out of the corner of her eye. He looked exactly the same as the pictues she'd seen. Graying hair, scarred face, patchy clothing. It reminded Sophie of what she'd worn as a three year old in the streets.
Deciding she should speak, Sophie said, "Excuse me, sir, are you prehaps Remus Lupin?" She hoped she was right, it would be rather embarrassing if it wasn't him.

Remus looked towards the young girl who had addressed him. He wasn't used to the address of Remus Lupin, usually Professor Lupin or just plain Remus (which wasn't as common). Remus turned towards her and looked at her almost curiously, before returning his gaze to the empty space ahead.
"That is me, why do you ask?" Remus replied staring out at the empty space before him. He took a drink of his fire whiskey before thinking of what she could want or need of him. Hopefully she wasn't another reporter coming to shove his life back into his face. That was the last thing he needed.

Sophie almost froze when he faced her, the scars were scarier than she thought. Turining red from embarrassment, she turned her head away so that she wouldn't be facing her 'adoptive' father. She took a deep breath and then took a sip of her water. She never thought talking to family would be this hard.
"U-um, w-well. I-I, I-I'm Sophie. I'm a friend of Dumbledor's, but I'm visiting from America as well." she stuttered, it wasn't helping that her british accent was pretty clear, "I was just wondering because well, I've seen pictures of you in my Aunt and Uncles houses. My brother has always wanted to meet you but I'm not sure if he's working today or not.. He's an auror you see, so I never know when he's working. I just stay home and cook."
She felt so idiotic, she was sputtering words so fast she wasn't even sure if they were understandable. Sophie tightened her grip on the glass and closed her eyes tight. Ooh, why did I have to do this alone? Why couldn't Teddy be here to talk? she thought.

At least she wasn't a reporter. A friend of Dumbledore, no doubt. This brother she had, and Auror? He had heard of one in the Order who recently joined and was an Auror. Remus hadn't met him, though apparently they were related, so this woman must be somehow related as well. That made sense enough, Remus guessed, though he didn't really look too much into it.
"Well Sophia, when I find myself trying to figure out the hours of an Auror, I hang around places like this, usually they'll patrol or pass by on break in places like this. With a nice vantage point to see the whole bar," Remus replied wondering what he was thinking. Of course he felt like a creep when he came to places like this, feeling like a stalker or something similar. Remus of course didn't like to go and be alone in places such as that.

Sophie loosened her grip and then looked back the Remus Lupin. She never understood how he and Teddy were related, Teddy was always changing the way he looked when he was trying to impress someone or when he was embarrassed.
"My brother and I are staying here.. We're staying till we're sent home by Dumbledore. Oh, and please, call me Soph.. it makes me feel closer to home." Sophie kept her eyes on her glass then turned around to look at the small amount of people in the pub, "I might want to say my full name now, it's Sophie Lupin, please don't freak out and hit me."
He reflexes kicked in and she tensed up and prepared for a strike. Her tendencie for this came from the abusive birth parents of hers.

"Why ever would I hit you? I figured as much. I heard about your brother from Dumbledore when he was made an Auror. Fourth Cousin twice removed, Soph? Good enough for me I guess," Remus replied curiously and looked towards her again. He didn't know if he should trust her, but he felt that she was somehow family which somehow gained his trust in a small way. Nothing too big.
It was curious that she thought he would hit her. He thought that somehow she might have been abused or something in the past. If so he would probably pay a visit to whatever her parents would be to him, a visit.

Sophie looked at him, the scar under her eye was what she'd gotten when she'd been hit by her birth mother with a cutting board. She had other scars from being in fights with dogs, but they weren't as bad as the one below her eye.
"It's a long story, but I was hit by one girl when I was little. She thought that if she dealt pain to others she would be happier.. Sadly I was her one and only target." She closed her eyes. It was a partical lie but it was wrapped around truth which made it more believeable..

Remus looked at her, with sympathy for what she had gone through. While he probably had a worse childhood, he felt that his was unavoidable. He would definitely pay a visit to this girl who had hit his fourth cousin twice removed, or something like that. Remus looked at her then sighed. She looked almost like she was a werewolf with all those scars, including that one under her eye.
"I see," Remus replied then looking back into the empty space in front of him, taking another gulp of his beverage, "I feel the girl hopefully learned her lesson, and regrets it. Even if she has not apologized, forgive her. You don't have to listen to me, but that is my advice. Forgiveness heals the soul." And it has healed him slightly. Though he was not going to forgive a certain rat, since he was the cause of most of those he loved to perish.

Sophie looked back up at him, she felt weak and sympathised. Everyone gave her sympathy but sometimes she didn't want it. She just wanted to be somewhat normal and loved, but she was an animagus and loved it because it gave her the feeling at she was free.
"She felt bad after she realized who she would have to deal with.. Teddy, that's what I call my brother, told her to leave me alone. She did after that, and I forgive everyone. But some of these aren't from her, just the one under my eye is.. the rest are from dog fights. I never win so I get beat up pretty bad." Sophie explained, "I look at them and think that they're battle scars that I'll continue to live with."

Looking at the scars as almost like battle scars. Didn't that seem familiar? It was something he tried to convince himself of when he was younger, and it actually helped a lot, but now he just saw them as ugly reminders of what he was, and everything everyone discriminated himself against.
"That's good, I suppose," Remus replied, not sure what else to reply, "May I ask why were you in dog fights?" Remus didn't really want to pry and would understand if she didn't tell.

Sophie wasn't embarrassed by what she was. She was proud to be a German Shepard, they were used just about every where as police dogs. When she asked why she had been in dog fights, a small smile krept its way to her face.
She stood up, "You have to promise not to laugh.." she thought about being a dog and the seeing in black and white and everything else acciocatied with being a dog. When she had opened her eyes, Sophie could see almost everything but it was all in black and white and she was looking up at Remus Lupin from the ground. If she sopke, it would come out at as a bark, it was just how it ended up being.

"I never laugh if it is serious," Remus replied, now if he said Sirius instead of serious then he would be lying, but he was usually one not to be a laugher. So she was an animagus. Interesting. She almost reminded him of Sirius, but not quite given her personality so far.
"Interesting, I see you are a German Shepard animagus," Remus said with a smile, "A very hard feat to accomplish."

Sophie tried to speak but it came out as, "ROOF!" and she shook her head and thought about being human again. She was sitting on the floor when she was human again. Everything was in color and she couldn't smell everything anymore.
"It wasn't that hard to decide what I wanted to be.. besides, we live next to a police station. The sheps are always running around the yard their." she said dusting herself off as she sat back down in her seat, "Sorry for barking, almost forgot I can't speak normaly like that.."

Remus jumped slightly as she barked at him, but then relaxed again. When she replied Remus nodded with a smile. Obviously she was quite a great person. Remus felt some similarities between them, such as both of them being quiet sometimes, nervous around new people, or it seemed that way to him.
"Interesting, my friends all became animagus when they were young," Remus commented, not adding anything else to that fact, just stating it before continuing with, "It's ok, I understand. A friend was a dog animagus, he had the same problem." Ah Sirius and the good old days.
